The Dude abides...

Nice run on not great roads this morning.  I'd guess about 30% of it was good the other 70% was crap.  Good to get out again after being sick last week.

Slow going today on snowy, slushy, and wet roads.  Not sure why Washington Terrace snow plows weren't plowing this morning just putting salt down.  This made the road slushy and wet so I had wet, cold feet today.

Uncle....9 degrees, -3 wind chill, 6 inches of snow.  Treadmill today, blah.  Alternating between 6 and 7 every .25.

Waited until about 10:30 this morning when it had warmed up to 10.  The roads sucked today.  It's so cold that the salt isn't really melting the snow so it's like running in sand that sticks to the bottom of your shoes.

The roads were complete ice this morning so alas...I hit the TM after work for a 10K.

Rain/Snow/Slush falling from the sky this morning so another TM.  BORING....

Couldn't stand another TM run so I ventured outside.  Turns out what looked like 1" of snow was actually 2-3 inches. Roads sucked, almost got hit by a car, and almost fell 2 times but it was still better than the TM.  Oh and forgot that my toes were freezing cold and wet.  January needs to be over.

Met Brandon, Brett, Ben, and Sarah at 21st St pond at 11:30.  I went at 10:30 and ran 5.5 first.  Ran east on the Ogden Parkway and not so good.  Parts were not plowed the rest was pretty much straight ice.  Couldn't get under Wall Ave or Washington Blvd because there was a foot of ice water in the tunnel.  Still a great run and nice to get out in some sunshine.

Don't want to run in this inversion/cold feels like it just goes to my chest.  So 10K on the TM after work.

Sooooo nice this morning in Florida. 60 degrees felt so good, great run, great to be outside.

So nice out again this morning in Orlando .  A little warm but I'll take it in January with a smile.

Last run in Orlando, going home to the snowy north tomorrow and not looking forward to it. Ran in the afternoon after walking through the Magic Kingdom today. Good times. Not sure what my body was thinking today but it wanted to run hard so this was a tempo run today.

Cold after work cruiser.  It was only 50 degrees cooler than my last run in Orlando on Monday.  I want summer back.

After work again...it's warmer than in the morning even though warmer is only 20 or so.  I'm pretty done with the cold weather and January in general.  The cold, the short days, the snow, the inversions, everything looking dead, oh did I mention the cold.

Cold morning on the Ogden Parkway from 21st St. Pond West with Brandon, Brett, and Sarah.  The path was plowed but still snow covered and very icy for the most part.  Good time with the gang though.

After work blah on the TM.  Watched Fast-n-loud so it could have been worse.

Nice after work run with Ben, Brett, and Brandon from Pig Farm on the Riverdale parkway.  Even in the sludge(bad air) and cold it was nice to get out.

Lazy week finished off with a great run with a big group on the Ogden Parkway.  Great morning with Tim, Scott, Sarah, Eric, Ben, Brett, Alan, and Brandon.

After work from Pig Farm.  Went early and ran 3 then met Brandon and Brett for 4.  Nice evening run tonight even though it was windy.

Finally made it out this morning, been slacking off lately.  Really a great morning and shorts on Feb 8, no complaints.  Good run except for a dog detour I had to take with about 1.2 to go.

Another great morning in shorts in February.  Took my gloves off about a mile or so in and didn't put them back on.  Good run nothing too hard today.

Striders winter 5k today, and that's not an easy 5k course.  Fun morning anyway with Tim, Brandon, Ben, Brett, and Nick.  Afterward I ran home to add the additional miles.

Had a little bit of a calf strain since Saturday so I rested it for a couple of days.  Turned out to be a good idea, good run this morning back into the February cold after last weeks nicer warm mornings.

Tired run today had to drag myself through it.  Glad I got out though much better than sitting here now wishing I would have run.

Tired with tired legs again today but I was still glad I got out.  Ended up having a really good run today.

Fun group run today on the North Ogden canal road out to the elk and back with Scott, Tim, Alan, Ben, Brandon, Sarah, Doug, and Eric.

Felt pretty good until around 9 miles today then my legs got a little tired but I pushed through it anyway and kept my pace up.

Striders winter race circuit 10K this morning.  Had a good time running with Tim, Ben, Brett, Brandon, and Emily.  I took it easy with Brandon until turning back up 36th st with about 1.5 to go.  I decided to try and run up 36th and made it, Brandon walked some.

I was cold this morning for the entire run because of that wind.  I wanted to stop about 1 mile in but I kept plugging away and got it done.  Still cold now.

Felt much better temp wise this morning.  Still cold but not like yesterday.  Tired run today, my legs were heavy but glad I got out.

Up early and out the door at 5:30 this morning.  Darker than I'm used to but ok, took it easy today.

Nice group run this morning with Ben, Doug, Devan, and Sarah on the Ogden Parkway from 21st st pond south into Riverdale.  Had to climb over a fence, over railroad tracks, and across a huge fallen tree to go around the flooding by the Weber County transfer station but other than that a great run on a very spring like morning.  Perfect.

Easy cruiser this morning, didn't push it today.  Nice morning except it was a little windy in spots.

Beautiful night on the Weber River Parkway from Pig Farm south with Brett, Brandon, Ben, Nick, and Travis.  Too bad I'm sick and felt like crap.  The whole run was a struggle but it was nice to get out with the group.

 A couple of days off to be sick wasn't quite enough.  Felt ok today but never good.  Fun morning anyway running from Dee Events Center through South Ogden, down the Adams ave parkway and then along the weber river parkway with Brandon, Ben, Brett, Tim, Sarah, Eric, Scott, Doug, and Camille.

After work from pig farm north with Brett, Ben, Doug, and Brandon on a HOT afternoon at 73.  That still felt really good though.  And yeah I'm still fighting this stupid chest cold.

Perfect morning, wow it was nice to be out there and the sunrise was pretty amazing.  Run was hard with this cold.

Stuck to my marathon plan today and took it nice and easy and ran with Brandon.  What a difference a couple of weeks make.  We were freezing and running on snow for the 10k a few weeks ago.  Great morning but a pretty tough course.

Out for a nice run on a warm morning with a spectacular sunrise.  Great to get out, I only wish I could get back to 100%.

Hit it just about right this morning.  Light rain for the first .3 then a little heavier rain for the last .3 other than that I was dry.  Good run today, nice to get out.

Pretty chilly this morning but there's something different about a chilly spring morning vs. a chilly winter morning at the same temp.  Spring is much nicer.  Easy peasy run today keeping my heart rate down.

Great evening for a run with Ben, Brett, Doug, and Brandon.  Had to out run a train going around a flooded part by the Weber County transfer station so it doesn't get better than that.

Nice morning for a run and it was a nice run.  The big group again from Dee Events Center North to Rainbow Gardens, then down the parkway to Riverdale City Offices.

Kinda cool this morning but at least I missed the rain.  Good run, I felt good today but I took it nice and easy so that was expected.

Striders Winter Circuit 30K on Saturday.  What an awesome morning in Ogden Valley.  Took it easy cruising with Brandon this morning for a great time.

Epic fail today.  It was supposed to be 20 but it got too warm and I got a little dehydrated so I decided to cut my losses and stop at 18.

Much better run today, much better temps as well.  I met Brandon and Brett at their 9 mile mark at Dylan's on 12th street and then ran with them.  Great morning and a good time today.

Nice morning for a run, probably the last run on my home course.  Sold my house and I'm moving.  I'm looking forward to running in new areas.

Nice run this morning even though I didn't feel well.  Ran Cold Water canyon from the lower North Ogden Pass trail head south to the canal trail and then back north to the horse parade grounds.  Lots of vert but a fun morning with Brandon, Brett, Doug, and Deven.

Warm one this morning, not sure what my deal is but I'm having a hard time adjusting this year to the heat.

Great morning today, up Wheeler Canyon to East Fork to Middle Fork to Ice Box.  Doesn't get much better than that.

Great run in Island Park through the pine trees.  First 2 with Janell and the rest alone.  Perfect temps and a great run.

Miserably warm and windy morning.  Even the wind was warm.  Plus it's never a good sign when you decide to take it easy and that feels hard.  Glad it's over with but still happy I ran.

Easy with Janell and Bailey about 8pm.  It was still too warm.

Didn't feel really well this morning but I got out thanks to Janell.  Had a nice run with her.

Sweet run on the Mules ear trail in North Fork with Nick, Brandon, Emily, Brett, Tim, and Scott.  Rolled my ankle and caught my foot on a tree root and fell but still had a great night.

Ran about .75 with Janell then I took off.  Nice run just a slight feeling of coolishness this morning.

Hot and a little humid this morning.  Not sure what's up but the heat is really affecting me this year.  Seems like everything is a struggle.

Up late at the Manchester United - RSL game last night but I managed to blow my butt out of bed and get a nice easy 3 with Janell.

Up late again working until around 11:30.  Janell helped me get up and out the door today so I owe her a big thanks.  Felt better today which is good for a change.  A well placed cloud provided some much needed shade especially since it was 76 at 6AM when I walked out the door.

Deseret news 10k with Janell.  Had a great time helping Janell through her first 10k, although see didn't really need any help.  It's a great course and a nice race.

Finally got myself out of bed this week for a run, thought I should make it a longer run.  Ok today not great, seemed to get hot about 6 miles in which wasn't ideal.

A little cooler this morning and some well placed clouds kept the sun off me today.  Good run, got a little tired around 8 miles in.

Slow and clunky today, kinda blah.  Humidity must have been up a little because it didn't feel quite as cool as I thought it would.  Good to get out though, I don't regret running this morning.

Moved into our new house this week and I really hurt my back.  So no running until today.  My back was still sore when running today and it was hard but I got through it.

Great run up around Pineview and into and Huntsville.  Temps were perfect, views were great, and the company was better.

Nice cruise from the new house in Clinton and around Roy today in the HEAT...it felt really warm this morning.

Figuring out new routes in Clinton.  Good route this morning although it's really getting dark.  I almost tripped a couple of times.

The annual chest hair run today except two of us don't really have chest hair so that's kinda silly.  Nice run on the North Ogden canal trail to the Elk and back with Brandon and Ben.

20 Mile bike ride with Janell.  Good times.

Smoke run today, not as bad as I thought it would be.  Still too warm out in the morning though especially for September.

17 Mile bike ride with Janell, good times.  South on 1000 W. to Bluff to Gentile to 3000 W. to 2300 N and home.

No smoke this morning, very nice but that meant that the south winds were blowing which meant even warmer this morning.  Good run otherwise, my legs started feeling fatigue from that bike ride last night around 4 miles in.

Huntsvill half marathon this morning with Chad, Brett, Scott, Ben, and Brandon.  Good time today.  Ran easy with Brandon until about 8.5 then I took off.  My 13th mile was my fastest for the day.

Pretty cool this morning and dark.  Cuised north through Roy and got stopped by a long train on 4800 which made me cold for the rest of the run.

Windfest this morning, what's up with that.  Got it done in the dark and had to tough out the last 4 miles trying not to go to the bathroom.  Hate that...but at least I made it home ok.

Started a little later again this morning.  I really wanted to stay in bed but I've been doing a little too much of that lately so I made myself get up and go.  Good run, took it nice and easy to make it more enjoyable.

I really tried hard to talk myself out of running but I'm hard headed and wouldn't listen,  for at least today.  Good run today, I need to remember that I never regret running.

After work on a nice afternoon with Bailey.  Took it easy so I didn't over heat her and it felt much harder that it should have for me.

Good run this morning, felt much better than yesterday afternoon.  I could take mornings like this year round weatherwise.

I've been sick the last couple of days so a nice easy run with Brandon, Emily, Scott, and Camille on the parkway this morning was perfect.

Thought I'd get out for an easy run this morning and ended up pretty much doing a 3 mile tempo.  So I'll take it.

What a great morning for Nov. 2.  No complaints, took my gloves off before 1 mile and enjoyed a nice run.

I tricked myself today, plan was to go 6 but about .5 in I decided to extend a little bit.  Good run except for getting stuck by a train on 4800 in Roy, for some reason that area is the coldest part of my run.  So that made me a little cold for the last 2.5 miles.

Lazzzzzy week so another long run this morning.  Solo on the Parkway from 21st St pond to Rainbow and back with a couple of laps around the pond to make 10.

Cold, foggy, inversion soup this morning.  Red air day made me really think about not running.  Got it and took it easy today.  This inversion crap is absolutely the worst part about living in this area.

Been sick for the last week so I've been really careful with the bad air.  Since this cold is in my chest I didn't want to push it.  Got out this morning for an easy 3.5 with Bailey.  It was good to get out.

Warm and very windy this morning at 45 but I'll take it on Dec 20. Had to keep it short to get to the airport.

Easy after the day in Avalon on Catalina Island.  This felt hard today not really sure why.

Cold and dark this morning.  I was surprised at how many people had shoveled their sidewalks.

29 degrees this morning a heat wave. Good to get out for a slog through Clinton.

Fun run with Brandon, Brett, Tim, Doug, Heather, and Scott from 21st St Pond east toward the canyon and back. Good to get out with the gang again.
