| | Good workout today it felt like a hard effort. Trying to get back in the groove after vacation and getting sick. Actually felt like I overdressed a little I could have gotten away with shorts this morning.
Saucony Mirage 3 Miles: 8.60 |

| | Easy run this morning so I didn't wipe myself out for the BST this afternoon. Excited to hit some trail, it's been too long. Hurt my foot with about .5 to go hopefully it comes around. Stupid foot....
PM - Awesome after work cruiser on the BST north of rainbow gardens with Nick, Brandon, Doug, Ben, and Scott.

Brooks Pure Flow 2 Miles: 7.15 |

| | Nice run up through Washington Terrace and South Ogden and then down Adams Ave and then back into Riverdale on the new section of the Weber River Parkway that starts at the bottom of Adam's Ave. Nice trail I liked it. Wasn't too tired after being up a little late last night, it was a good game so worth it...
Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 13.10 |
| | AM - 6.7 easy. 2 rules for today's run since I'm running after work as well. 1) Don't look at my watch and 2) Don't push it. Suceeded today so that's good. Hurt my foot again at the exact same place as last week, WTF. Maybe I'll pay attention now, doubtful but hopefully. Kinda a boring night last night good thing Top Gear was new.
PM - 5 miles with a big group from work on the weber river parkway from Parker drive in riverdale. Ended up running alone because nick and Sally we're going faster than I wanted and the rest were going slower than I wanted. Still a good run.

Brooks Pure Flow 2 Miles: 10.10 |
| | Nice and easy today trying not to hurt my foot so I let that dictate the pace. Had to split this into 2 parts because I got a call from work and had to go home for and hour and a half or so at 2 miles. Getting cooled back down like that didn't help. Ran down Adams ave and back into Riverdale on the new Weber River Parkway extension...nice to have that new trail.
PM - 2.5 After work on the BST above Weber State, awesome night. Decided to take my dog Bailey for her first trail run. She did great except for being afraid when we passed other people. I had to pick her up for that part.

| | Decided to hit Antelope Island on my day off. Windy out there today. Ran most of the Buffalo run 25K route. Started off the wrong way so back tracking to go the right way cost me some distance. Good run, lots of Buffalo today. Now for a day off...

Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 10.10 |
| | Goal for today was not to push it to see if running too hard was hurting my foot. Pushed it too hard on Wednesday and it hurt. Today was much much better, even after walking a lot yesterday having fun. Great run on a really nice morning.
Brooks Pureflow 2 Blue Miles: 10.10 |

Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 10.10 |

| Race: |
Buffalo Run 25K (16.5 Miles) 03:13:00 | | Were to start....started getting sick Wednesday. So going in I didn't feel well. Got started and that first 3 mile hill killed me, I had no energy and couldn't breathe. Decided just to take it easy and finish. Even taking it easy felt like a death march. Made it through the 1st aid station and then down the backside of Elephant head ok, probably my best mile or so here. Hit that uphill back toward the aid station and just had no energy. So the rest of the way was walk/run as best as I could just to finish. Probably the toughest race I've ever run but I'm glad I finished. It was great to get out with Oreo, Gdoc, and Fritz under the blue dome. Thanks! Those guys rocked it.
Went to Now Care later in the afternoon and found out that I had Walking Pnuemonia so I guess I wasn't just having a bad run day. Which makes me feel better in a way.
Brooks Cascadia 9 Miles: 16.50 |
| |
| | Nice afternoon run with Brandon and Dave on the DR&G trail in West Layton. Good to get out. I felt good today trying not to push things. I've been sick, hurt, and sick all year so I'm taking it easy right now because I'm pretty fed up right now. Going to try to get things back to some semblance of normal next week.
Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 6.20 |
| | Nice run on a perfect morning with Brandon, Ben, and Dave. Started at Rainbow gardens, down the parkway, out into Riverdale by the City Offices and then back to 21st St. pond. Had a good time taking it easy. I took off the last 3+ miles to get a few faster ones in, felt good.
Off to 38 Special concert tonigt. They always put on a great show.
Brooks Pureflow 2 Blue Miles: 16.30 |

| | Half Marathon Monday...oh wait it's Tuesday. Good run today, nothing too speedy just running and not looking at my watch. Ran up Washington Terrace into South Ogden, down Adams ave, then along the Weber River parkway into Riverdale and back up into Washington Terrace.
Saucony Mirage 3 Miles: 13.10 |
| | Nice run this morning, it really turned out to be a nice morning. Legs felt heavy today for some reason, guess it's just one of those days. I got a good nights sleep so didn't expect the heavy legs.

PM - 5 easy on the Riverdale parkway with Brandon. Nice night, great run, better company.
Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 10.15 | Saucony Mirage 3 Miles: 5.00 |

| | Long, slow, distance run this morning starting up in North Ogden, down to Riverdale and back to 21st st. pond with Brandon and Ben. Thanks guys! I felt pretty good today, left them with 2.5 to go and ran a little harder to finish up.
Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 20.50 |
| | Thought I'd be more tired today so I was a little surprised when I looked at my watch when I was done. A little better pace today than I thought I'd have, by no means am I breaking records but I was happy with the effort today.
Saucony Mirage 3 Miles: 10.15 |
| |
| | Great morning and a good run today. No watch peaking again I'm trying to run without looking so mission accomplished. Ended up with a good pace for me and legs got a little tired the last 1.5 or so.
Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 8.65 |
| | Perfect morning run with Nick and Matt on a new trail for all of us. Started at 22nd St. Trail head and took the Hidden Valley/Taylor Canyon loop. Great trail and I had a blast. Looking forward to this one again.

| Race: |
N.O. Limits Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 02:18:01 | | Ok so sore quads from Thursday's awesome trail fest so I took this one easy. Didn't race it at all just relaxed and didn't push it. That's a really tough course with a lot of up hill for a race plus it mixes road and trail so that was nice.
Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 13.10 |
| | Easy, peasy on the BST with Janell and Bailey after work. Super nice night out, good times.
Saucony Peregrine 4 Miles: 4.10 |

| Race: |
Ogden Marathon (26.2 Miles) 04:43:00 | | Well the sun was actually shining when this thing started for about 5 minutes. You could see the impending doom looking down South Fork toward Pine View. Started off easy running with Ben, Brandon, and Dave. After about a mile or so I eased into an nice sustainable pace. The rain started about 2 miles in and just got worse for the race. I felt really good coming out of South Fork, at the Half Marathon split and running up the hill outside of Eden. As soon as I was at the top of the hill there was wind in my face and the rain seemed to pick up, that was hard to do but it did. Somewhere between here and the spillway I felt my legs cool down and I couldn't get them to warm back up.
I was able to keep my pace through 22 miles or so then my legs just started locking up. So from here on in I was running/walking. BUMMER!!! I really think I could have held my pace and come in around 4:15 because I felt really good until my legs got cold. But I finished and I'm happy that I was able to push myself to the end.
Saucony Ride 7 GTX Miles: 26.20 |
| |
| | Easy, peasy this morning with Bailey. Had to walk a short bit at .25 because my left leg was a little sore but it cleared up and I felt fine for the rest of the run. Wow I can't believe it wasn't raining...
Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 2.05 |
| | Time to get back in the saddle...well sort of. I probably should have done 8 instead today but felt good to get out and run without getting wet. Getting ready for trail time, can't wait.
Brooks Pureflow 2 Blue Miles: 10.15 |
| | Easy pace because I ate breakfast first. Ran with Bailey, good run today.
Saucony Ride 7 GTX Miles: 2.15 |
| | Ultimate quad grinder this morning with Oreo up the Fire Trail to Skyline trail, to Lewis Peak. That's some serious uphill. Nick warned me but somehow I didn't think it would be as tough as it was. I think the downhill part was just as tough. Anyway that's what makes it fun aside from having a good friend 'enjoy' the pain with you.
Brooks Cascadia 9 Miles: 9.00 |
| |
| | Well the legs are still a little fatigued...easy pace today felt really pretty hard. Nice morning and I beat the rain so no complaints.
Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 10.20 |
| | Great morning, can't say I'm going to miss the rain. Run felt hard again and now I'm tired. Feel like I need a nap.

Saucony Peregrine 4 Miles: 3.00 |
| | Finally got out this morning, it was really warm today. I guess we're going to go from cool to hot this year.
Saucony Mirage 3 Miles: 10.30 |
| | Holy crap I'm tired today. Got alerted for work at 3AM so had to get up for that and when my alarm went off at 5:30 it was everything I could do to get up. But glad I got out for a tired, glacially slow run. Really didn't have a choice since it's national run day.
Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 10.30 |
| | Dragging my bootie through the run again today. Hopefully I'll snap out of this soon. Right now I'm happy when I get out the door because the mornings are really nice.
Altra Instinct 1.5 Miles: 8.75 |
| | 29 mile...yes 29 not 28.xx bike ride with Janell on Sunday afternoon. Started from Syracuse and rode through Clearfield, Hooper, West Haven, Roy, Sunset, Clearfield and back to Syracuse. Good times, great ride, and great company.
| | Nice run this morning although it was getting a little warm by the end. I'd rather have it warm than cold though. Just cruisin, legs are finally showing some signs of life. Not completely back yet but getting there, that's a big relief.
Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 10.30 |
| | Nice hike up the Upper Yosemite Falls trail to the base of the upper falls. That was a pretty good grinder probably 1500' or so of vert. Didn't go to the top trying to take it easy for tomorrow.
| | Awesome day....hiked from curry village campground up to Half Dome with Janell. Went up the Mist trail to Nevada Falls and then up the John Muir trail to half dome. Really can't describe how awesome this is but it's a must do in your life kinda hike. On the way back went completely down the John Muir trail instead of taking Mist. Specataular views and it was great to be in Yosemite.
| | 29.6 mile afternoon hot sweatfest with Janell. Great ride although it got a little hot.
| | Warm morning for a grinder type run after the 30 mile road bike fest yesterday. Legs definatley felt tired for the last 2-2.5.
PM - Easy 2.75 on the Gibbs loop trail between 36th st and 29th st trail heads with Janell and Bailey. Just beat the downpour...yeah.
Saucony Peregrine 4 Miles: 2.75 | Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 10.25 |
| | Nice run on a great morning. I got out a little earlier than I have been lately I think that helped because it didn't start to feel warm until about 1-1.5 to go. A little tired today but not too bad.
Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 10.30 |
| | Nice run this morning, I was able to keep out of the sun until 3.25 miles in then it caught me up in South Ogden. Then the sweatfest began.
Altra Instinct 1.5 Miles: 8.80 |
| | Not my best run of the week, it was really warm out this morning. Didn't push anything today just ran in the freakin heat. Glad I got out though.
Brooks Pureflow 2 Blue Miles: 10.60 |
| | Hot outing on the Gibbs exercise loop with Janell and Bailey. Even though it was hot it was still fun.
Saucony Peregrine 4 Miles: 2.60 |
| | A little nervous about this one because I've been so out of sorts running lately. Good run felt better than I thought although I didn't push this at all. Ran up the Terrace into South Ogden above the Athetic Club, around by S.O. Jr. High(avoiding Adams Ave construction), down Adams Ave. parkway to the Weber River Parkway into Riverdale, over Riverdale Rd and back up into the Terrace. Whew!
Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 13.70 |
| | Warm this morning and I'm tired. Kinda trudged through this one but got it done and as always glad I got out.
Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 8.75 |
| | Went to the MotorVu last night so I got to bed late. Got up early so I could try and get as much as I could done before the sun came up. Never felt really good today, tired again, but felt okish. I made it almost 4 miles before the sun hit me today and it was hot from then on.
Brooks Pureflow 2 Blue Miles: 10.40 |
| | Sweet run this morning up Wheeler canyon to Art Nordic over and down ice box canyon. Awesome morning, can't beat that canyon.
Brooks Cascadia 9 Miles: 5.55 |
| |
| | What a freakin GRINDER, sweatfest, hot beat down today. I got up early and was out the door by 6 and it was still warm. The sun didn't hit me until I got 6 miles in and from then on it was a total beat down. I need a nap.
Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 13.75 |
| |
| | The heatfest/sweatfest continues. Got out early today and still hot. The sun didn't catch me until 7.2 miles so that helped a little. Good to get out but good to get done.
Altra Instinct 1.5 Miles: 10.35 |
| | Sweet but warm cruiser up Wheelers on Oreo's loop. Awesome run....
Saucony Peregrine 4 Miles: 6.35 |
| |
| | Great temps this morning up in Island Park. The run however...was great until mile 6 when my calf went barf...I ended up not running again until Saturday it got sore.
Saucony Peregrine 4 Miles: 6.25 |
| | Great run with Oreo on the shore Wheeler/Ice Box loop. That run just never gets old, great place to be. My calf made it about a mile before it started acting up, I was able to baby it through the rest without pushing things.
Brooks Cascadia 9 Miles: 5.25 |
| | Good run this morning my calf made it through it ok. Took Oreo's advice and wore a calf sleeve and that helped. Don't know why I didn't think of that...duh...
My watch kinda weirded out this morning, I didn't look at it until the 2 mile mark and it had my distance at 20ft. From then on it was correct..whats up with that?
Saucony Ride 7 Miles: 8.75 |
| |
| | Easy on the BST above Weber State after work with Bailey and yes it was too hot.
Saucony Peregrine 4 Miles: 4.00 |
| | Good run this morning...the calf sleeve is working wonders it feels great. Kinda warm with the cloud cover but that helped later block the sun so it was good and bad. Good to get out.
Saucony Kinvara 4 Miles: 8.80 |
| | Got out a little early today and that was nice, the sun didn't get me until about 7 miles. Anyway plan was to run the same as yesterday but for some reason I decided to add the .2 to make it an even 9.

Kinda caught up to the tail end of a bunch of National Guard guys doing some kind of timed run today toward the end of my run. They had a car riding along with 2 guys at the back so somebody could "motivate" them to keep going, kinda funny. That's a first in 17+ years of running.

| | Had to get out early today...work stuff. So I'm running up the street and some lady crosses a side street and if I wouldn't have stopped she would have hit me. So I'm standing there about a foot from her car when she drives by and she rolls down her window and tells me to wear lighter clothes...IDIOT...I'm under a street light wearing a plain WHITE long sleeve shirt. How much lighter does white need to be? Why can't people just face facts that they didn't look and just apologize...
