Well...semi-oncall today at work had a call around 2 AM this morning, Argh!! Got out for some road miles in case I got another call someone could come pick me up. Decided to hit the MiddleFork loop with the Island loop extension. Temp's were perfect. felt great and no calls. Welcome 2014 

Sweet run in the fresh air of St. George. Hit some close paved trails by the motel. Peace. #underthebluedome

Another cruise under the blue dome. Threw some gloves on this AM. Took another paved trail that looped around River Road. Sweet.

Needed the goat heads this morning on a sweet cruiser up Wheelers to Art Nord and then up the groomed road to Middle Fork. Down Middle and Ice Box. Run is money right now. Some ice, but the snow pack and goat heads take care of that... It's feeling good to be outside again... Yo

Awesome morning cruise on the BST north from Rainbows with Bro G. Trail conditions prime. Upper tail to the turn around and back.

Another sweet BST north from rainbows with Matt this AM. Early Appt, so had to cut the loop short a bit. Turned around at the BirdHouses..Rained the entire time, but we missed the big rain...

Solo run in AM north from Rainbows on the BST. Ran into Shane about two miles in on the upper trail. Good times. Windy but manageable. Love the dirt and rocks. YO.

Afternoon Sun Loop around Eden. Felt great.. except for the sleep deprivation.  Might be first run of the cougar blues on a non-cheesewheel surface...

Grinder up from Wind Surfer to just short of Rocky Point.. Snow drifts got to deep and soft. Beatiful trail though.. 90% snow free..Yeah.

Chilly, Windy, grinder North on the BST from rainbows in the dark too..Headed out to the 3 mile-ish turn around at the Polk sign via the upper trail. Must train up..

Yo buddy.. always good when you can get a lunchtime cruiser in. Met G' at Rainbows and headed south up the grinder and then upper trails over to the beus loop to 40th.. Felt aight - some of the time - thanks for the call bro-G.... Peace.

Started at Wind Surfer ran down to Marina then back and up Sky Line west for about a half mile then back down to wind surfer and home along the North Arm trail... I know - a bit of a mess, but felt ok...

Slow windy grinder North from Rainbows on the BST. Ran past a herd of deer, but lone soul out this morning. Buffalo is going to hurt!

Another Buffalo run 25k in the books. I knew this one was going to hurt due to lack of training, but I knew I needed to get it done. Headed out to the island with gdoc. I think I heard there were 350ish runners so, a pretty good crowd. Wanted to stay relatively conservative at the start and then try and speed up if possible. hehehhee. Lot's o' wind blowing every which direction, but the sun was shining so, a great day on the trails. BroMan G' brought it home strong. I was hoping to be around 2:40 so, I'll take 2:42 - After party always great.

Looks like I averaged around 9:50 a mile

I had the total Ascent at 2463 feet

After work slog during lulu's soccer practice. Headed from Weber State up over to the big climb and then up the big climb added on Beus ext and then over to Waterfall Canyon and back. Going up the big climb Gdocs magical Blue Jay was spotted twice. Felt good to roll the legs out, but still a bit tired. YO.

Met up with Matt this AM at the North Arm and headed out to wind surfer and back. Trail 85-90% dry. Still a bit o' ice in the corners and west facing slopes. Very WINDY always seems like it's a head wind both directions..

Sweet AM run on the BST north from Rainbows with Matt. Felt pretty good - no real fatigue left in the legs from Buffalo. Weather was spot on - trails prime.

Nice morning cruise from my porch down the North Arm and up Skyline west just past the mile marker and back. Temps perfect - trail a skoosh sloppy due to the latest winter storm.

Woke up to snow, so made my way down to the gYm o' pain..Should'a just hit the BST, but the rollers were ok... It's been a while. Gotta love SprinG - YO.

Early morning on the BST in the SNOW and ICE.. Heading up the initial climb, I saw some blood spatter that turned into a river and then a lake of red... The Deer that hit the wrong side of a big cat I'm guessing was laying next to the trail. I decided to push on - the cat's got to be full at this point - right? .. Trail was ok, slippery in some spots, but a great way to get moving this AM.

Sweet TUITA run this AM with the G. Met at the Front Side Grandeur Assualt TH and powered up the 3k vert in just over two miles. Once we got to the top we snapped a few pics threw on the micro spikes and dropped down the back side. Snow was a little deep for the first mile or so and then it evened out down to Pipeline. Crused to the Rattlesnake TH and circled back on the road to the cars at the TH. Sweet Run and Temps. No dog encounters on the trail - I think that's a first for the milcreek canyon... Thanks Bro... Good times.

G had the vert at 3680ish....

Back to the gYm for a couple Tm MilES. Trail is so much better.

After work run from Weber ST. dorms up to BST and up big climb to upper trail out to Waterfall canyon and back. Love the weather... 

Nice cruise this AM with Matt on the North Arm trail. Trail in great spring shape - river raging.. Love it.

Sweet 4-11 morning run up Wheelers to Art Nord then up the old snowbasin road to the middle fork connector and back. About another week or two and the middle to higher trails will be golden. The river is roaring. Awesome.

A sweet six on the Rocky point out and back. About 2000 ft gain in the first three - then you get to really enjoy them on the way back down. Trail prime to the three mile mark - then deep slushy snow still. Spring is finally in full swing. Love it. No one out except a yeti.

Early morning stroll around the old Eden 10k route. Was chilly willy. Felt aight.

Early north arm TH run with Matt and Taylor. Trail sweet - First moose encounter of the year.

Sweet - AM Wheelers up to Art Nord up the old road to the middle fork crossing and then down middle and ICE BOX - sweet cond. right now. Wild Turkeys everywhere... Gobble gobble.

Early morning Skyline west TH up to RockyPoint and back. Sweet trail. The views are not half bad either...

Striders 6 miler this morning. Saw a group run was happening on the Otown river trail, so I thought I'd get some road miles in. We headed East from the store up to Rainbow Gardens and back. I ended up running with Brett (who took 2nd overall at the slc marathon) and Lauren (manages the Otown store) for the run. Great morning out. Thanks Striders.

Rim trail to South Kaibab TH to Ribbon Falls back to South RIM via Bright Angel trail. One word to sum up this adventure EPIC. Headed down to the big ditch with three of my bros, Scarback, Gdoc, and Hairdog - all named men. We booked a couple nights at the south rim, so not to worry about lodging etc, Got there late Thursday night and decided we'd leave from the visitors center at 4:30 AM on Friday. With the amount of training we were all at we decided to scrap the plans for the full r2r2r and push for the r2rf2r.

Morning came fast and furious - We were running the rim trail connector to South Kaibab before I knew what hit me. South Kaibab is an amazing trail especially in the early morning dawn. We ran down the trail much faster than we expected and before long we were standing on the bridge crossing the colorado river heading into Phantom Ranch. At Phantom we decided to push up to Ribbon falls and see how everyone was feeling, so we headed out - Bright Angel canyon is great - stunning views etc. We lost HD somewhere on this trail and didn't find him again until he wandered up to the Bright Angel TH on the South Rim.. The three of us pushed the pace up the canyon a bit and while we were waiting for him at the falls, he missed the trail and went past Cottonwood campground... So he got some bonus miles..

We had a lemonade at Phantom Ranch on the way back.. very nice.

The climb from Phantom back to the south rim is a serious amount of vertical gain and pain. When you hit Indian Gardens and see you have about 5 miles and about 3500 ft left you feel the pain. It's also at this point you start seeing the day hiker carnaige along the trail. We pushed the pace pretty good passing almost everyone. even though we were into our trekk about 28 miles at this point. Scarback and Gdoc were pushing a hard pace and pulled me up the final climbs.

Epic fun day. PEACE.

Back to the grind.. Made it out on the North Arm trail this AM with Matt. IT was COLD. Haven't had to wear my winter hat for a while now..Brr. Legs felt a little tired, but it felt good to hit the trail.

After work six with the mR Rob g. Sweet run tonight - the trail always seems to straighten out the day. We took off from the dorms at Weber ST. and then head up to the climb to the upper trail and then north to the Bench at lookout point. Good time and good company.

Sweet AM run with Matt up on the Wheelers / old road / Middle Fork / Ice Box loop. Trail is prime in some spots, but still a week or two for the upper trails. Hard to beat fresh morning mountain aiR.

Sweet AM run with J and T2. Hit the North Arm trail out to wind surfer and back. Perfect temps. Funny I thought I'd take most of this week off and probably ended up having one of the more consistent running weeks in a while. Must be spring. PEacE.

Awesome morning run up in Deer Valley with J and T2. Headed around the pavement, since Mid Mountain is still covered in snow. We made it up to the top of Gaurdsmans.. Perfect temps out. 

Sweet afterwork run wih Rob. Headed up from the weber state dorms and cruised up to the BST above the football field. Good push out to rocky point via the new trail.A bit of a highway out there, but Good times. Peace.

Sweet race - temps perfect out. Started with Rob and we ran pretty much the entire race together which made for a great time. Goal was to keep some kind of consistent effort and have a great time. Goals accomplsiehd. Will update race info once available. Peace.

Fritz in town so, found HairDog and we headed up Wheelers up the old road to MiddleFork and down Icebox... sweet morning.

Awesome cruise up Wheelers. At Art Nord ran into Jackie/Shane/Jeremy Jeremy was doing the 9 miler and the other two were going to throw in Sardine, so the four of us headed up East fork past the beaver damn... Jeremy and I cut down middle fork and the other two went up Green Pond. Sweet roll back down middle and Ice Box. Peace. Thankful for my Freedom to run the trails.

Another awesome run up Wheelers/East Fork down Middle Fork / IceBox with Matt. The hills are alive. Rivers are roaring Mtns. are green and actually saw the beaver swimming this morning. Peace.

Perfect way to start the day. Met Rob at Wheelers and we hit the nine mile loop. Perfect temps, trail conds. Always a bit of a grinder up to lower green pond. Rob threw it down for his first time on those trails.

Had to try out the new Cascadia 9's.. I really liked them on this test drive. Up Wheelers across the connector trail at ArtNord and down Ice Box.. Perfect temps and trail conditions.

Woot there it is. Last minute decision to hit the niner this morning. Got there a bit late and the trail was stacked already. Trail money though. That climb never gets easier!! Peace. YOLO.

Sweet North Arm cruise out to the ramp with T.T.J. They cut back some of the overage, so trail in pretty good shape right now.

Beautiful morn up nine mile wheelers loop! Went solo today. First moose sighting on the trail for the year.. pretty sweet. Also turned a corner running down middle fork and about ran into a deer.. Scared the willies out of me and the deer... Love it. Peace. 

YOLO.. Sweet run from Snowbasin lower lot. Since everyone bailed on me - I put the tunes in and headed out solo. Decided to hit the overlook and then hit the Sardine loop.. Was MONEY. Toward the end a bunch of mtn bikers to deal with, but it's a small price to pay for the great views and trails.

Smooth run up to Rocky Point with Matt. Rains from last night made for a great trail - weather about perfect this AM - light rain on the run back down. Felt good, but now I am tired.

Prrrrfect run up at the Basin. Met up with Bro G' and we decided to hit the Sardine Loop with the backside loop. WAS MONEY. Trails perfect up there right now. The rain settled down the dust from the mtn bikers.. Here's a taste of the trail... YO

Well... Gdoc HD and I attempted to hit lewis peak this AM, about .65 up the trail a massive thhunder storm rolled in. We took refuge under a PINE tree... Lightning, thunder, Hail, RAIN,, for about 20 minutes. Let up and we decided to bail on it since radar showed another larger storm rolling in. 

After 3D transformers.. Needed something ran up to three mile post past rocky point. Two massive moose up on top, AWESOME. ran into Curtis - glad I got out. Needed it. YO

Ahh.. Part of the run that should have happened yesterday. My sons game got re-scheduled so, I hit the trail!! Decided to bag Lewis Peak. Had a moment of silence when I went past the shelter tree from yesterday. Tough climb out to Lewis. Spectacular views along the way. Was the only one out at the peak. Serenity - YO.

HAppy fourth of July! Let freedon ring.. or run in this instance. Decided to try and summit Ben Lomond this morning. Talked HD and Gdoc into joing me for a 4 AM departure from North Fork. This trail is one of the best. Kind of an unknown jem. It's a serious grinder up to the saddle and then up to the peak, but the views and trail are worth it. Moose sighting but no Mtn goats today.

Decided to try the legs out a bit, drove over to the North Arm TH. Matt had just pulled in too. Good times. Ran into the Weber High CC team on the way back. Legs feeling pretty good from the Lomond grinder. Peace.

Early outing with Matt up from wind surfer to Rocky Point. Ran into Shane and Dave at the top and headed down with them. Trail getting a bit dusty.. Good climb though..

PM sweatfest from 27th street to Malans Peak. Was seriously HOT. No snake sightings..

Sweet Grinder up to Mt. Ogden Peak from Snowbasin with Rob and Matt. At the top of Wildcat we choose the left trail (should'a taken the right one) - This led us up to Needles lodge with no way to get to the trail to Mt. Ogden, so we decided to make the trek up to the ridge line and traverse north to the Mt. Ogden climb. Great decision - awesome views etc. This takes you from Allen peak to Mt. Ogden. Matt made it up to the traverse, but had to go after that. Rob and I made it to the peak.. Great way to start the morning.

Very late impromptu Early morning James Peak outting with HairDog. Needed to be on top of the peak by 6:00 AM before any of the runners from the Skyline 50 Miler got there. The race was offering $100 to the first person to get to the top of the peak and finish the race. Seth was the first one up. Extremely Nice guy. It's a tough climb at the 5 Mile mark of the race. 

Sunrise was epic..Views steller. 

Morning cruise up Wheelers 5+ loop with J, T and T. Good times. Legs a bit heavy from the prior week. Good to get back on the trail.

Epic run up Mt. Timpanogos Peak. Talked Gdoc and Rob into getting up at an insane hour and starting this run from the Timpooneke trail head. This was the first time up to the peak for all of us. The trail turned out to be better than I imagined it would be. Steller views and Epic vistas. On the way down back at the saddle there was 10-15 Mt. Goats hanging around....Sweet.

In honor of the Pioneers Rob and I ventured from the Gate at Francis Peak to Thurston Peak and back. Franics is the one with the big FAA towers and Thurston is the highest peak in Morgan/Davis counties... Ridge trail got sketchy in a few places. Great day out on the trails.. and no Rattlers...

North Arm cruiser this morning with Matt. Cleared out about 5 lbs of cobwebs for all the other users today. Muggy this AM too. Here's to a grand week.

Sweet summit this morning with Rob. We headed up the Frary Peak trail on Antelope Island. Just over three miles to the summit and back around 2100ft vert. Good push. The last bit up to the peak is step! Lot's o' wildlife. Cool vistas. Peace.

Downpour this AM, so headed to the gYm for the first Tm run since spring.. It was painful and HOT. SteamRoom after felt nice though.

Sweet AM wheelers loop with Matt and Shane. Always perfect after a little rain storm to settle the dust down. Ice Box always money...

R-scape loop this AM with a gaggle of peps. Tracy in town from Saudi so, Taylor, Brian, Matt, Nick F, Tracy and I decided to hit the R-scape loop. Good times.

Major outting this AM with Rob. We decided to finish off the HUMR peak challenge and bag Ben Lomond and Willard Peaks via the backside assult from North Fork TH. Headed out super early and got drenched in the remnants of the thunder storm from last night. Shoes/Shorts/Socks soaked within the first couple miles.

Sweet morning on the trail though. Ended up being a little longer than envisioned, but well worth it. Willard Peak is really super cool. Had it all to ourselves. Ran into a herd of goats on the front side of Willard - sweet.

Early morning North Arm,, first time out ran into Shane, so we ran the first part together talking about his Wasatch100 - he had a great race. Then I headed out again and ran  into Dave and we talked about his Wasatch100.. Pretty funny. Great morning.

Sweet AM pig farm trail run. Met up with a crew from work.. Sally is shooting for a BQ in DEC, so needed five miles at tempo, so Rob and I paced her through that. Hopefully we didn't push her to much... Great times with a great crew. 6.50 Miles

PM .. Last minute night run from top of Divide to Wind Surfer Beach. Was serious trail money. Encountered an epic Sunset - sky on fire - Full moon and some classic trail humor. Taylor/BG/Jeff/Shane and some guy named Bill... Was Sweet. big day we'll see how I feel tomorrow. Peace. 9.50 Miles

Well...In honor of all the veterans I decided to put out a line to see who wanted to climb Ben Lomond with me. Rob, BG, and Taylor all braved the chilly conditions. We headed up from the divide peaked out stayed for a couple minutes if that - it was cold! Cruised back. EPIC trails. Great outing.Peace.

Epic trip down to Canyonlands Needle district with the Bros, Gdoc, Scarback, and Hairdog. Started from Squaw flats th and headed out to Druid Arch (Awesome) then out and around Chesler Park via the joint trail! BooYA! Great to have rock and stone, dirt and sand underfoot.

Feeling aight after the Southern trip. Back on the rollers for this one. Hard to believe the year is crusing by! Gobble gobble.

Rob and Kelsey came up yonder so, we hit the north arm from Wind Surfer down around the old highway road and back. Good times! Post Turkey day hangover still...
