| Well, this was one I just wanted to finish. I have had such a rough year with bursitis in my knee and then running into the pole with the other knee on Labor Day weekend that my training has been minimal. I was happy to get done in a semi respectable time, although it was the first time I have't placed in my age with was a bummer! Fitness was a key part to this run. I noticed that the harder miles were where I slowed down a lot. I ran with a couple of guys including Chad Robinson for a while at the first, but was mostly on my own. Never felt bad, just didn't have speed or strength, and basically felt out of shape. But this was #18 for me, so again, it was good to just finish. Next year I hope to have a good race. I just need to get healed and get some miles in.

| Felt good the last couple of days, so I decided to run today. Ran with the kids for a couple miles and then with Rory, who is visiting from BYU, for a mile on the grass. 7:46 pace.

| Met the kids for a run on the Jordan River Parkway. There were quite a few kids for being the day after Region. We ran out to 14600 South on the trail and then got on the dirt lane going south. We ran into the trail again and took it until we hit 5 nad then can back the same way. Picked up the last mile a bit and ran 6:22. 7:19 pace for the run, felt pretty good.

| Tim came over and we ran out around the Cove and down to Main and back from my place. Nice easy conversational pace for me. 1:19:41 for the 10 miles.

| Ran up Butterfield Canyon this morning with some of my kids. We had a small group today. Beautiful morning! Ran up ata decent pace, just under 8:30 pace. Then Tanner, Adam, and I had a good run down. 5:33, 5:33, 5:20 on the last 3 miles. 7:02 pace for the run.

| Butterfield Canyon again today. I was sore from Saturday's run, so I figured this one would be better. The kids ran up strong today, maybe too strong. Most of them beat me up and I was about 8:00 pace going up. On the way down the group was big for the first couple miles and then they started to peter off, other than my varsity boys. Went 5:37, 5:34, and 5:17 down today. The way up was faster though, so my was 47:44 total today compared to 49:10 on Saturday.
