AM- Some tempo, threshold, and cv intervals. I switched between groups. Spent most of my time with top girls and freshman boys. Good efforts. Cooled with boys. 9.01 miles

PM- Well Topanga died today. Marieta took her to the vet to be spayed, and the vet doc called her a couple hours later. He said that after they gave her anesthesia she started having heart palpitations. They did life saving measures but she did not wake up. So I stayed home and buried her in my parents lawn. I'll probably head up to camp later tonight. Losing cat isn't that big of a deal. It's the just the fact that getting Topanga was an attempt to fill the void of losing Ava. So there's layers to it.

Got out for my hottest run of the summer around 3:30pm. I think it was 108. Ran out to the desert and suffered. 7.08 miles

AM- Woke up extra early and jogged some miles on my own. Ran some steeper hills than I wanted. 3.47 miles

AM2- Grouped up the tribe! WOMAN! Ran some more random short roads. Ended up running by Old Man River who just wanted to camp in peace. The girls climbed a log pile and sang some songs. I focused on helping Laney and Brocken finish up the last climbs of the run. Added after with tired legs. It's hard to bush whack on tired legs. 6.71 miles

PM- Ridiculous run on the short trails across from our camp site. The boys were goofy and all over the place. Fun little run though. 4.44 miles

AM- Best run of the week! Started out 10 strong. Eventually Kate dropped off due to her knee. Then Alianna dropped and I helped her get through some hills. Dave (on bike) helped the main pack in my absence. When Ali flipped I regrouped with the girls and we kept it together. Adri, Brooklyn, Elle, Emmalee, and Katie were very consistent. Laney fell behind on the uphills but kept fighting her way into the pack. Brecken trailed Laney with disappointment in her eyes. We survived and ran strong. For the last mile turn we got everyone together and finished strong. Once I knew the top girls were solid, with no one wavering, I went and got Laney. Very proud of her efforts to stay on the pack! Added a little on my own and shot some hoops at a b-ball court. 9.63 miles

Another remarkable camp in the books! Very positive things happening for our teams!

Highlights:
-Winning Volleyball tournament with the Dad Bods. Consisting of Dave Hall, Isaac C, Nathan B, J.D., Martha, and me. Martha wasn't going to let us lose! We beat a team of all freshman in the championship.
-Jason and I going 18-2 in KanJam. We only lost to the beer smashing college kids Nick and Alex Hill. We did not lose to any other team!
-All the games!
-Getting to know the kids better!
-Talking with Kate about her injury.
-The Guest Speakers (Nick, Alex, and Jess)
-XCTIMONY!

PM- Late night jog hoping to get rained on. 6.60 miles

AM- Slept in and didn't start running until 9am. I was doing fine until about 9 miles in. Then I felt light headed and nauseous. I got home and used a hose to cool down. I had to lay down for a while. 10.07 miles

PM- Bloomington Loop with Bear Claw tangent. That water fountain at the bathroom sure is nice! Pretty hot but no lightheadedness. Ran through golf course sprinklers on my way home. 6.05 miles

I thought I was going on a nice mapped out trail with my Dad. I should've known better. The goal was to go from Kolob Reservoir all the way down to LaVerkin Creek and out Hop Valley. However, my dad didn't know how to get to a trail he's run before. So we ran through the woods and tried to find a safe route to LaVerkin creek. Unfortunately we found a tough route. Tons of thorns and big drops. At one point I was using my Dads leg to pull me up a cliff side as he was holding onto a bush. Ran into a Rattlesnake as well. I was bummed we spent several hours bush whacking, meaning when we actually got to decent trails it would be hot. Climbing out Hop Valley was really hot and Sandy. We survived. I wish I would've spent my Saturday on a better running route. Now I'm super sore and cut up from an adventure with Ross. 14.33 miles
