| | 6.5 miles around the middle B-hills loop. I was pretty sick with a head cold all weekend and felt sickish this morning. Probably shouldn't have ran but did. Then still felt like crap the rest of the day. Actually during the run is when I felt the best all day long. |

Middle B-hills loop then extended back around the Knolls and park. Still feeling kind of groggy but overall better today. Legs felt pretty fresh too. Chugged along at a 7 min avg while spitting up lots of junk... the joys of being sick and getting over a sickness.
10 miles tonight around the DC/ River Road loop. It is just amazing outside this time of year and should be a crime not to run. I just enjoyed the run... to run. Not to "train" for any race but to just feel the nice air and go. Actually doing so the legs turned over very well and hit around a 6:40 pace for the run.

Stone Cliff/ DC loop with Logan this morning in 1:30:12. Things felt pretty sluggish the entire run and without a watch I'd have guessed we were just poking along. But looking back through our times we ran it faster this week than we did last week and finished with a 7:12 avg where as last week was 7:16. We both enjoyed a solid political conversation this morning. Politics Rule! NOT.
A little run around the Little Valley Loop. It was so nice out this afternoon...79 F here at my house. Not bad for the 3rd of November.

Regular b-hills loop. Felt flat, sore and trashed. Need to freshen up if I'm going to do a hard tempo/ mock race workout this weekend. Beautiful morning again.
Same B-hills loop again. I left the house with no idea where or how far I was going to run. Then just ran and without really thinking just took this loop. Felt a little better than the morning run but my legs are feeling some general fatigue.

| | Inner B-hills loop in revers. I feel about one mile away from injury... everything just kind of aches. I'll relax the rest of the day, use the stick, foam roller and stretch out good. Hopefully I'll be ready to run a good workout in the morning. |

| | Did a Big workout this morning with Logan. We ran the first half of the STG marathon course. We both drove up and dropped his car off at the half then drove mine up to 3 miles out from the start. Then did a 3 mile warm up to the start before turning back around to hit the tempo. Ran the half in 1:14:57... overall goal was to break 1:15. So I guess it was a decent outcome. But there were some cons to the run. I didn't bring a garmin so the entire run I was kind of in no mans land about how things were going. I did have Logan's Timex but it's not like seeing your pace and knowing where you are exactly. Then I ate pizza and hot wings last night at 8 p.m from Papa John's... not the wisest choice. This gave me minor tummy issues. It felt pretty warm for November. Logan and I both dropped all gloves, hats and most other clothing when we passed my car. Then the only other thing is I wasn't like totally tapered for the run having hit high mileage last week and semi high this week and as of after the warm up I felt pretty warn down. Actually didn't like the idea of running 13 more miles at slow pace let a lone tempo.
But the Pros were that both Logan and I finished the entire distance and pushed out a great workout. I want to do this workout several more times next spring and summer to help me get more mentally tough about running the first half of STG. It's actually really hard. Veyo gets harder for me every time I try to run it hard. Happy with the workout and Logan had me by over a min... as always. After we watched some of the Snow Canyon half marathon. Fun to see all the bloggers out racing. Now I kind of wish I'd have just ran that race. Looked kind of fun. 2 mile cool down by Logans truck.

Calves have been extra sore from Saturdays run. Not sure why? They weren't sore at all after STG and I did more miles at tempo... and pace was faster durning the tempo. Nonetheless they are sore. I could hardly walk yesterday. So this morning I just ran 4 EZ miles on the treadmill. They felt ok and I was able to get though the run. So I'll let them age like wine and try another short run this evening. No run this evening. Left achilles or lower calf is either very sore or possibly injured in some way. |

Most likely no running today. Injury??? Not sure yet but my lower left calf or achilles is way too sore to run on. Ugh! I told my wife at the end of last week I was one mile away from injury. I kind of was feeling beat up but now there seems to be a lot more truth to it than I meant. Busy with yard and house and some F1 projects so hopefully by staying active I won't drop tons of fitness. However this might be the sign to not run Mesquite after all. | Comments(2) |
| | No run today. The calf is still sore. I can't decide if it's a knot or a tare. | Add Comment |
| | The calf felt a little better walking around the house with the last few days off. So I tried a run on the treadmill. Within a half mile the pain in the lower calf hurt again. I just kept the pace steady and the pain was runnable for EZ pace. This doesn't give me much hope about springing right back into things. Maybe it's a good time to start my winter down time. |

After a rough week of hard yard work and not running because of a sore calf I was ready to try it again. Ran from my house up into town to pick up the truck where Mik'L left it to catch the shuttle. I pushed Myler in the jogger and it was just a beautiful afternoon. I felt good going into the run about the calf and it held up never bothering me. I'm sure if the run were longer or faster issues could have risen but I was just happy to get this run in. Maybe I'll get something going again next week?

| | Finally got out for a run. I killed a massive project in the yard today and it about killed me. But I came out a live and headed out. The run felt good... as good as can be expected after not really running for a week. The calf really didn't hurt at all so that was nice. The legs just kind of felt flat. Kind of like a super Monday. |

| | DC Loop. It was a beautiful afternoon almost 70 degrees and I was able to enjoy a run. Legs felt kind of sluggish. I kept the pace brisk. No watch but the entire run was a lot harder than EZ. Saying that the legs never felt it and nothing came smooth. I should have just relaxed and strolled along but didn't want to keep the babysitter waiting. Overall not bad... I guess it will take a week or two to get the legs back, and that's ok. |

| | Came down to Vegas with my wife for the weekend. Went down to the fitness center and hit the treadmill. At first it sucked but once I got rolling this turned out to be one of the best runs I've had in a few weeks. Which was good because I was about ready to walk away from the sport... |

| | Did a parking lot run. Mapped a little figure 8 type loop out in the parking lot next to I-15. Got into a smooth groove and clipped off 9 miles at 6:36 avg. Seemed really nice. So what can I say... some really junky runs early in the week and then some great ones late. The only downside was early in the run I ate it- HARD. I stepped on a flat metal covering and it collapsed. Sending me face planting into the parking lot. Both hands got some good cuts and then some road rash on the arms and legs. I laid there for about 5 min's wondering if I was dead and then just got up and got the run going again. It's my first biff in a long time. If I wereWildBull I'd do it once a week:) |

| | 5 wonderful miles on the treadmill. I'm heavy and slightly out of shape after a few weeks of low mileage and a big weekend of room service and eating out in Vegas. Most likely this week wont be any better with Thanksgiving coming up. But hence is the season. |

| | B-hills loop this morning. It was below 30 and pretty frosty everywhere. I'm really not ready for winter. Don't have much ambition to run when it's cold... especially in the early morning. |

| | DC loop. It rained last night but made it so it wasn't as cold as yesterday morning. However once I got to the bridge by the DC there was ice... I ate it big time. The second time in less than a week. I came down the hill and onto the bridge but it was totally ice and my first foot step sent me flying. Feet were now as high as my head once was and then I hit the ground like a 1,000 lb brick... hard. I just laid there and whimpered for a spell and then finally made it back home. the run was slow. |

| | 4 miles on Thanksgiving morning. I hit my uncles treadmill up in Torrey. He had a fire burning in the wood stove downstairs where the treadmill was and it was an inferno. I was hot and ready to be done a mile into it. 4 was all I could handle. Had a good Thanksgiving up in Torrey with my family and Mik'L's Mom, Dad, and Grandma Cleo came up too.

| | I had planned to get in at least 10 today. But Mik'L and I took on some major house projects and just didn't have time to run. | Add Comment |
| | Good club run today from Dave's house. I just about didn't show and I would have been mad if I didn't. It was the first time in a long time that most of the guys were there. Bill, Dustin, Dave, Steven, Logan, James and I. Hopefully I didn't forget someone. Anyways a smooth loop down around Summit and the fields. Actually ran it faster than planned as Steven's horses were ready to rock on the way back. No watch but most likely under a 7 min avg... 25 degrees when we started. |

Ran on the treadmill. I'm not crossing over into winter very good and struggle to want to run in the cold. Hope to get a full 6 days of running in this week as I've slacked off pretty hard the last month. 6.2 miles tonight around the StoneCliff 10k. It's almost right on from my house out by the fields, down past StoneCliff and then back up River Road. Did the run at 7:09 pace or around 44:20. This morning I ran the same distance on the treadmill at an equal effort in 47:30. That's why I hate the treadmill!

| | 10k on the treadmill this morning. It seems like pulling teeth to stay on that thing for over 30 min's. But with temps in the 20's or even TEENS I'm staying in 4 sure. Hoping my palm trees make it through this winter as it's already colder than it was all last year. |
