We did Red Castle today. Zach, Jeff, Nate and I stayed together and jogged most of the 11.x miles up to the top. It was fun to see some of those guys really cruising up that mountain. After the usual long break in the cold at top, we walked the first few miles down with the girls. It started to drizzle and I couldn't stand how slow we were going. Kyle Famuliner came with me and we ran most of the rest of the way down. Lots of miles covered today but most of it was slow.

The goal was to have a 60 minute run before we left. My legs were not working very well when I was running though. I ran for 35 minutes and then got on a bike for the rest of the 60 minutes.

Had enough long and hard stuff this week, so I figured I'd just do 6 miles. I started and was feeling really worn out so I cut it short to 5. I averaged 6:37 though, that altitude training must make some difference.

I did three miles in the morning just to get some extra miles and have the legs feeling better for the team work out at night. Averaged 6:35

In the evening I did a good warmup and drills. The workout was 8x800's. My reco was 3 minutes of jogging. I started at 2:42 and worked down to 2:25 on the last one. I was feeling really strong. I jogged a mile and then did some strides in my spikes.

Easy three miles in the morning averaging about 6:40.

In the evening we were at Steed Park. We got in a good warmup and then had a tempo run. I ran with Andreasen's and their Dad was biking along with us. We went 6 miles, but both of them had to drop off for one reason or another. I was able to finish strong and averaged 6:05's. I got in a good cooldown after.

4 miles in the morning, 6:42 average.

Team workout in the evening. Mile warmup. 10x500's at 5k pace, but Rob wanted 2:1 reco.... I didn't have a group anyways so I was taking less than that but more than 1:1. They were easy and just felt like practice of running fast. 10 minute cooldown after.

Jared Ward came to trails to run with us! Unfortunately Rob wanted to go up to the waterfall.. Jared still ran and hiked with me and anyone that could keep up. It was awesome to talk with him and get his advice and perspectives.

Had to do 3 miles in the evening because Rob had to take pictures in front of the waterfall.. 6:26 average

I was in charge of practice in the evening, which was fun. I was also breaking in my new trainers. We did a .5 mile warmup and then a fartlek. I ran with Jeff, Fess, and Nate. They all ended up dropping off by the end. I averaged 6:26 for the fartlek and then did a long cooldown.

I was excited for the evening workout because we were doing mile repeats. Mile warmup. I did 5 mile repeats and ran with Andreasen's. The recovery was only a minute of just over, so we couldn't quite run race pace. I hit 5:46 5:45 5:41 5:34 and 5:18. Cooled down a mile and then some strides in spikes.

I did a mile shakeout in the morning just to get the legs moving. 10 minute warmup before the race. I went out in 5:25 which my body wasn't used to, especially over those hills, so that hurt me through the rest of the race. It really was a pretty good race though. I did a 2 mile cooldown.

10 minute warmup. AFAP on the track at 5k pace(actually faster because on the track) I made it 2400 meters twice hitting 82's and had a 5 minute break between each. Then I ended with 1200 meters where I hit 79,78,75. I really wasn't feeling that great today, so Buhrley had me do a 17 minute cooldown which included just walking up the hill.

I did a 10 minute jogging warmup. I was the lead off leg for us. I got out well but started to struggle after probably 1200 meters. I did my best but it wasn't what I wanted. I hurried and changed shoes and ran around the course trying to help out my teammates by cheering them on and got 2 miles worth from that. All of the varsity squad(me, Carson, Ryan, Fess, and Nate) struggle for the most part, which was hard to watch. It was hard to have Clearfield pass us on the last leg and have them rub it in our faces. I didn't have a voice because I was yelling for my team and had also been yelling at the close football game last night.. Being on my feet all evening and yelling probably hurt my race some.

I was pretty motivated from the races this morning so I biked for 45 minutes in the evening.
