West Point Pary at the Point 5k (3.107 Miles) 00:16:55, Place overall: 2, Place in age division: 1 | | I got to the park early and was able to get in a good warmup. They call everyone to the line way beforehand. I didn't even have my flats on yet.
At the start it took about a quarter if a mile for things to settle in where they should be. I was right with the front pack with Jaxon Hansen and some other guy. The three of us were right together still at the mile. We hit that in 5:40, which was good since that mile is slightly uphill. Right then the other guy just took off. Jaxon and I picked it up too, but not nearly as much as he did. I was just feeding off of Jaxon in that second mile. That one was a 5:20 and the other guy had quite the gap on us. I started to pull away from Jaxon and he yelled telling me I knew where I was and what I needed to do at that point in the race. I knew then that he was just trying to get in a good workout. I closed as hard as I could in the last mile. I was happy with the time and effort.
While all the nonrunners were still finishing the race I was able to get a two mile cooldown in. There were lots of congrats after.

| | We had a team workout in the morning. .5 mile warmup. My workout was a six mile tempo around 6:15 pace. I was doing fine going out, but coming back was against the wind and I had to stop once. I only tempoed for five miles. I ran the last mile back and then did another .5 mile cooldown
4 miles in the evening. Was supposed to be easy but averaged 6:33

| | Woke up really early to fit in runs while at Camp Helaman. I left when it was still dark. We're at about 9450 feet so that slowed me down quite a bit. 7:25 average.

| | I didn't want to wake up really early and do a long run at altitude. So I figured I would do one in the evening. I was obviously tired though, so I asked Zach if he would bike with me. I met him at Jeff''s house. If it wasn't for him I don't think I would have gotten twelve miles in. I had an allergy attack about seven miles in and then really struggled over the last two miles.

| | Team workout in the morning. Rob had us playing ultimate frisbee, but there were too many people that didn't know how to play to get a good workout in. Luckily we were running in between and I pushed those pretty hard.

| | I biked to the school, did a warmup and then 4x200's that were fast. Then I cooled down over half a mile and finished up my biking. I did this because I still wanted a race day even though I'm racing in the morning.

| | Woke up really early and went to Salt Lake. The DNews 10k is always a fun race because all the best in Utah seem to be there, including tons of high schoolers. I warmed up and was feeling pretty good. Rob didn't want me full out racing so I ran with him over the first 5k and went through in 18:40ish. I then got to race and chase people down the second half, with the goal of going under 17. I did it and was really happy with that strength. I cooled down after which was cool because Miles Batty was behind me cooling down.

| | In the morning we ran to Bridger Lake for a warmup and then did intervals around there. I did 8 1250's in 4:36 4:29 4:26 4:24 4:22 4:24 4:19. The recovery was about 150 meters of walking. I was feeling awesome, and the coaches could tell. I was really excited because it was probably my best workout ever, especially since it was at altitude. Cooled down running back to camp. Rhett, Jeff, and Zach were with me cooling down.
Did 4 miles in the afternoon averaging 7:22

| | In the morning we went up to the ridge trail above bridger lake and ran. I went as far as you can about, it goes to where you can drop down into china meadows. I averaged 7:41 so not too bad considering you have to watch the ground the whole time because there's hardly a trail.
In the afternoon we did a warmup and then a GPS team race where there were three different teams. My team won. I also did a brief cooldown. 7:38 average for that whole event.
