| | Today we finally had our first track season workout! I've missed everyone! It was 3x8 minute tempo with 90 second rest today. I felt really good on the first one and ran a 6:37 pace with the girls. I ran with them the same pace on the second one until the last 2 minutes when I felt like puking a little. Gross. I did good on the last one and kept pushing myself. Overall it was a great workout! :) We got new foam rollers today, so the whole team was rolling out together. My left calf hurt really bad, so I went to the trainer and he found a giant knot and rubbed it out which HURT LIKE A BLEEP. After weights I went back and got a heat stem treatment for 15 minutes before going home.

| | Today we met as a team and had a lesson about nutrition :) Then I went for a 5 mile run with Aisha and Savannah. We ran down University Parkway and intead of turning on Geneva Rd we went straight just to see what was back there. Gross. It didn't even get us to 2 miles and it smelled like poop and sewage and more poop. We turned and went back to the track and finished up our run there. T'was fun. I rolled out in the training room after so I don't get any more knots.

| | Today we did a workout on the track. It was snowing which made it fun. We ran a 20 minute warmup around campus while the coaches plowed the track. We had different workouts for mid distance and long distance. I was in the long distance group with Vieve, Brooke, Ivie, Brigit, and Harley; we're all running hte 3K this Saturday! Our workout was 2x1000, 2x800, 4x400, and 2x200. My 1000s were supposed to be 4:00-4:08 but I was feeling good today and ran 3:55 and 3:58. I ran both of my 800s in 3:07, I think my window was 3:00-3:07. My 400s were supposed to be 84-88 but I ran 84, 81, 83, and 84. Pretty good! The 200s we were supposed to start them slow and gradually pick it up on the curve and be at full speed for the straight. I felt really great today! I ran a 20 minute cooldown with Vieve and then went and rolled out in the training room. Then we had weights and now I'm going home to make myself a burrito and snuggle with my cat.

| | Today was a water workout, so I went to Golds with Savannah, Maddie, Vieve, Emily, and Kenzie. We ran into Trac and Josh there too! We did a 10 minute pool run warmup, then 5x2 min on 1 min off. Then another 10 min of cooldown. Apparently it counts for 3 miles so hey. Then we sat in the hottub for a few minutes to stretch and massage. Ahhh.

| | Today I ate a bag of muddy buddies, then ran the Krispy Kreme loop with Vieve and Kenzie. We did the tunnels and roof today. Then we met Maddie and Taylor on the track for 2x200 strides because of our races tomorrow! Then Maddie and I built a snowman. Oh, and today was a sports bra and tights day.

BYU Indoor Invitational (1.88 Miles) 00:11:41 | | Today was my first college track meet! Yay! I ran the 3k with some of my other teammates. On the BYU track it was 10 1/2 laps, ew! But I survived! I ran a 15 minute warmup with the other 3k girls outside along University Ave, then did some drills and stretches. I got a pretty good start, but it might have been a little too fast the first 2 laps. I ran a little behind Vieves the first 4 laps, but then a Westminister girl started passing so I went with her and hung onto her for a bit. I eventually passed her, but then another W girl caught up to me and even though I stayed with her for a while she passed me. At least she didn't cut me off or touch me, that's a high school thing. On the final kick the other W girl from earlier outkicked me, and I gave up a little bit. I was a little upset that I hadn't made my goal time of 11:20, but my Coach was still happy with me which made me feel a lot better :)

| | Today we did the usual campus warmup but went all the way to Walmart because it was 20 minutes instead of the usual 15. The 3k-5k runners workout was 6x1000, with our windows getting faster by 2 seconds every 2 1000s. Vieve and I were supposed to go 3:57-4:05, 3:55-4:02, 3:53-4:01. We went 3:55, 4:02, 4:02, 4:01, 3:59, 3:57. Vieves had the inside on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th 1000s and I had it on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th. It's nice to trade off :) We did a 20 minute cooldown, the institute tunnel and roof loop backwards.
Lifting today we did hang cleans, single leg RDLs, marching plank series, abs, three way balances, and a few new things.

| | Today we ran a 20 minute warmup then drills and stretches. The 3k-5k group workout was 14x400. Vieve and I were to run them in 87-89, which we handled well! We had 2 mins jogging recovery between them all. We ran them in 86, 86, 89, 88, 87, 87, 87, 87, 87, 86, 86, 89, 86, and 79 since Coach told us to hit 84 or under on the last one or we'd have to do another. I think our times are going to be bumped up, which is good :) I'm excited! We ran a 20 minute cooldown with Caitlin around campus. Later we all foam rolled and paired up for coconut oil massages, it hurt so good! Lifting today wasn't too bad, we had dead seal lunges, jump lunges, front squats, pull ups, inverted rows, and the partnered sets of knee tucks, butterflies, v-ups, scuba steves, and toe touches. Plus core. Then I ate a whole pizza.

| | Today we met at the Church by Vintage park and Carterville to do our Carterville hills workout. I remember last time we did this workout back in September or October, and I did really bad, so I told myself that I was going to do better today. I did better than I predicted I was going to, which was great! Coach even let us skip a hill, and it was the one I was dreading! :) I felt really good. On the 2nd to last straight my plantarfacia hurt really bad and my options were pavement or ice, so I ran kinda funky. The gatorade today was purple, and we took this adorable picture. I love my team!!

| | Today Shae and I wore our matching tights! We all went to Vintage Park to do our 4 mile tempo. It was great because I was mentally preparing for 6 miles. We ran our warmup from the park to our starting line, then ran 2 miles up the canyon and 2 miles down on the PRT. I think I was supposed to go from 7:20s to 8 minute, but I was feeling good mentally and wanted to try and run with the 6:50-7:30 group. We stayed together for the first mile at 6:43, then Shae and I kept up the 6:43 and got 13:26 at the 2 mile mark. We regrouped with everyone and started the way back down. This time Emily biked alongside Shae and I as we ran a 6:34 pace. Overall it only took us about 26 minutes to run the tempo. I did so much better today than I did when I first ran that workout back in the fall! :) We ran our cooldown back to the cars, got yellow gatorade, and drove back to the WAC, where Em and I rolled out and gave each other calf and hamstring massages with the coconut oil. Lifting today we had weighted front squats, pull ups, inverted rows, core series, band walks, and dead seals lunges. Instead of the usual 2.5 lb on each side of the squat bar I moved up to 5s :) I remember the first week of lifting when I could barely lift the bar. And I did 3x5 pull ups instead of 3x3 :) Feeling happy! Might go to a kickboxing class with Morgan tonight!

| | Today I went with Sav, Vieve, and Em to Golds for our usual pool workout. We just pool ran for 30 minutes while Coach Evans walked alongside the pool teaching us the importance and the benefits of cross-training. Then we stretched in the jacuzzi.

| | Today we all drove to the Provo Airport to do some loop everyone said was so great. Yeah, mud, ice, and snow are so much fun! :) The packed down snow wasn't that bad. When we got to the lake we kindof wanted to run on it because it's frozen over, but then we remembered Jason's story from Christmas break and decided not to try it. I turned at 2.5 with some of the girls because we were told the loop was 8 or 9 miles, but when we got back we were told it was really 6.5. Dangit. I slipped on a sharp corner and hurt my knees, but it wasn't that bad, I just laughed it off and we joked about that time I smacked my face on a sign and fell over. Weights wasn't too bad today either.

| | Today we ran a 20 minute warmup to and from Walmart then did our drills and stretches. Our workout today was 16x400. Vieves and I were supposed to go 85-90, and we ran 83, 86, 85, 84 the first 4 then everyone switched directions. Then we ran 88, 88, 83, 85, and 86. Then we switched back and ran an 88, then Coach told Vieve and I that we were done at 10 and to just do a distance run. We didn't know why, so we just ran along the road by the WAC to Center Street and back. Later we asked him and figured out :) Anyways, lifting today should be pretty good. I can't wait to go home and eat an entire pizza and snuggle with my cat.

| | Today I went with Kenzie and Celeste for an 8 miler. We ran to Center St and up to State St. We turned on University Pkway then took the Krispy Kreme way down and around to the tunnels, where we went up and around campus the longer way. We finished off with 2 laps at the track. Then Kenz, Aisha, and I did a couple of strides for Savannah's photography project :)

| | Today our workout as 5x2 minute pushes. We drove over to the Murdock Canal by the Verticle Mile and warmed up for 20 minutes around the park and neighborhood. We did all of our drills and such. The start was a bit icy because we went under the tunnel, but after that it was fine. The rain was really light, which was nice, but it was a little cold. We ran 3 out and 2 back, then added it all on to our cooldown. Not too hard of a workout. After, Em, Vieves, and I took naps on the couch in study hall before weights, which made us even more miserable during weights. I blame the rain. Weights weren't too bad today.

| | Today I was not mentally prepared for the workout, 2x1600, 2x1000, and 2x800, steeplers with the barrier and 2 hurdles. I was excited about the hurdles, but the rest of it was kinda poop. My miles were 6:10 and 6:32, my 1000s were 3:59 and 3:57, and my 800s were 3:04 and 2:57. I was also a little bummed because Vieve is sick :( I ran a 20 minute cooldown with Caity.

| | Today we parked over by the Del Taco by the Provo River Trail on University Parkway. We just ran out 1 mile as warm up, then continued at our paces. My window was 7:13-7:55, but I think I was going faster than that because I stayed with Bridgit and Celeste. Most people just ran 6, but I ran a full 10 with them. I fell off with about 2 miles to go, but I stayed strong and close enough to them where I could still see them. I felt really good about this run physically and mentally though! Weights today we had squats, dead seal lunges, partnered core, inverted rows, and plate side lunges. I partnered up with Emily for everything, then we sang on the shuttle again :)

| | The workout today wasn't the best for me. My legs feel like dead puppies and it was really cold and wet. We ran a 20 minute warmup to Center Street and back, plus drills and stretches. The original workout for 3k-5k runners was 8x800, but after 6 we split the next 2 into 4x400. My 800 times were supposed to be 2:51-3:02, and I hit 2:57, 2:57, 2:57, 3:00, 3:10, and 3:11. Coach made me sit the first 400 out so I could stretch my legs because he could tell I was suffering. I've been adding weight to my bars recently, so that might be why. My 3 400s were 82, 86, and 83, and I wanted to do my last one but we were going on our cooldown right then just to be done. I just ran towards the light with Kenzie and Vieve, then Kenzie and I added on another half mile while ranting about everything. It felt great :) Weights today was pretty good, we had a new partnered core series with jack-knives, squids, supermans, windsheild wipers, and swimmers, which I did with Vieves. We also did our lateral plate lunges, band strengthening, alternating jump lunges, military arm raises, and a ton of stretching. Later I met my roommate at Walmart and stocked up on poptarts.

Today we ran a 15 minute warmup and did the usual drills and such. Our workout was 4x200, 1000, 20 minute tempo, 1000, and 4x200. The first 200s I hit 38, 38, 37, and 38. I heard my 1000 time as 3:52, then on the tempo we started with the giant hill by the stake centers and ran to Center St. I didn't like the uphill, but once it flattened out I did better, plus I did better on the downhill. I mostly ran with Jess on this one. When we got back my 1000 was another 3:52, then the 200s were 38, 39, 38, 38. The track was really wet so everyone was splashing, it was kinda fun. For cooldown I ran the sidewalk campus loop with Celeste, Ivie, and Jess. For lifting today we had hurdle drills, then supersets of hang cleans and front marching planks, box jumps and push up series, SLDB RDLs and leg raises, and 30 second ankle balances. I partnered up with Emily for the supersets, and on the hang cleans we went up to 7.5s! Pretty soon I'll up my DB from 10 to 15. The box jumps were pretty fast. And Emily and I got Marcus to smile, it was great.

| | Today I went for an 8 mile run with Kenzie. We ran from the WAC towards Lakeside and ran the long way around the park, where there was construction and it was super muddy. Oh well. When we got to the back of the park we ran west on the road towards the lake, then we ran on a paved path alongside the lake. It was pretty icy/snowy on the path, even though it was a sunny day. We turned and went back, then finished the Lakeside loop the way we usually run our tempos. When we got back to the WAC we still needed a little over a mile, so we ran to the stoplight by the event center then into the parking lot and around into the track. We ran 3 big laps on the track then back to the locker room, which was a perfect 8. We went at a really good pace too, and we didn't have much to talk about besides blueberry muffins vs chocholate chip muffins, so we ran a little faster than a conversation level. After, I ice bathed to my hips for 15 minutes. Gary is a genius, he brought hot cocoa mix for us to drink while in the ice baths. Yay! I did my 90-90-90 cores and headed home. Then since my lab was cancelled I got a 2 hour nap!

| | Today we ran the same stamina run we ran last week. I ran out 5 miles with the same girls at the same pace, Bridgit, Celeste, and Kenzie at 7:10. I felt better about this run. On the way back, Kenz and I went 7:15-20. I mentally didn't want to do it and my legs hurt, but I also didn't want to get raped on the PRT so I worked it. Great motivation, right? Lifting today was really light, after the speed ladder drills since Em and I were the only girls we paired up for the supersets. We did the jumps first, then the squats and inverted rows, then the plate lunges and pull ups. I did my core when I got home later because we were determined to catch the bus.

| | Brenden and Nelson showed up to my house by surprise at mile 5 of their 16 mile run, so I biked the other 11 miles with them! It was fun! We went down 900 east to State and went on the road towards Mapleton/Spanish Fork, then we turned on a road I don't know and went over a couple of miles. We went through this little forest area, it was a little creepy because it was getting a dark out, but as long as I could see the boys I was ok. Then we went through some neighborhoods and I recognized where I was. I was tempted to just bike up Center street and home because I had originally planned to do just 4 with them, but I kept going. We turned by Macey's and went up that creepy road until we got to Pinnacle. Then they drove me home and I ate some bread.

| | Today for our workout we had 8x1000. I couldn't find my pink Mizunos at my house and I forgot to change into my purple ones at the WAC, so I ran in my flats. Big mistake, my plantarfacitis killed and now I have some huge blisters. I shocked myself with my first one, my window was 3:54-4:02 and I ran a 3:38. Then I ran 3:41, 3:48, 3:51, 3:53, 4:02, 4:01, and 4:04. My plantar KILLED me on my last few, but I only went over my window once. I ran a cooldown to Walmart and back with Bridgit, Ivie, and Celeste. These blisters are gonna suck butt.

| | Today after the team meeting (and a few of us getting lectured for staying out until 4:30am the other day...) I went for a run with Kenz and Em. We ran along 1200W to 400N and then to Geneva Rd, to University Parkway, and back to the locker room. Then a bunch of us went and rolled out in the training room and had some Gatorade, it was red today. Then I got a text saying all steeplers to the barrier :) It was just Brooke and I today since the other steeplers all had class, but I kinda liked having a lot of Coach's focus on me. We just jumped the barrier a few times, but it was great :)

| | Today it was too windy to do our stamina run on the PRT, so Coach sent the boys to the Golds on UP and the girls to the one on 800N so we could use the treadmills. We ran 1 mile warmup, then I went 8.5 (7:03 pace) for 2 miles and 8.7 (6:53) for another 2. Then a cooldown. We were gonna do it in the cardio cinema because The Hobbit was showing, but it was full.
Later, our weight room had been taken over by golfers so we had to go to Golds again for lifting. I went with Jason and Tyson and we did our pullups and RDLs, hang cleans and inverted rows, jump lunges and DBCTP, and core series. Then we went and sat in the hottub, then swam in the pool, then hung out in the sauna for a few minutes. It was pretty funny.

The race went out really fast, I was at the back of the main pack and my first 200 was a 38. Holy crap. My 400 split was 1:19, and I already knew that I shouldn't have started so fast. My 800 split was a 2:47, and my final time was around a 5:50. Ew. I ate a bagel and a Greek yogurt parfait then cooled down on the upstairs track with Emily and Savannah. Then on the drive home we stopped for McFlurrys and I got the Jazz home game day deal on chicken nuggets, yum!

Today was short, fast, and really, really, hard. Our workout was 2x 600, 400, 300, 200, 100, girls at 4:48 pace. Holy poop. On the first set my times were 1:55, 77, 55, 37, and 16. It was tough because our rest was short. On the second set I ran 2:06, 82, 55, 38, and 15. Not so great. I ran a cooldown with Emily up by the library then we ran through the building and came out by the UCCU Center and headed back to the WAC. Weights was on our own today so Vieves and I got it done and I headed home. Birthday dinner at Pizza Pie Cafe tonight! Yay!

| | Today we all drove out to Carterville to do our hills workout. Boys and girls just ran the warmup together, which was pretty fun. I fell back a little bit on first few hills and caught up on the flat recovery, but then Coach Evans told me to raise my arms and swing them back and I was able to stay with the girls instead of falling a few steps back! Emily and I killed it on the way back for the hard flats, it felt great! We did the out and backs twice then cooled down. The gatorade was orange today :) Later we all did our lifting and had a small dance party. Then I went home and took a 3 hour nap. My Jamba earlier was berry blast.

| | Today I went to the pool and did the usual swim workout with Em, Sav, and Vieves. Later, I went to a spin class with Em and HOLY COW IT WAS AMAZING AND INTENSE. We're going to try to start going to spin every week, we were drenched in sweat but it felt soooo good! My Jamba earlier was peach pleasure.

| | Today we went up to the parkway at the base of the canyon for tempo. I did a 2 mile warmup with Emily and Brenden, then a 3 mile with Emily and Savannah. We went a 6:40 pace, which hurt but felt good at the same time. We ran a 15 minute cooldown and the gatorade was purple. Strength training today was 20 crab walks (10 each side) front plank, crab walks, side plank, crab walks, side plank, crab walks, back plank, the planks were 1 minute. Now it's time to go home and eat my granola and Greek Yogurt, yum! And my jamba today was a peanut butter mood.

| | Today my Jamba was a Mango A Gogo. For workout we ran 15 minutes of warmup. Our workout was 8x1000, but we were doing so well that the girls were done at 6 :) On the second lap of each one, us steeplers would hurdle 2 barriers and step over the water one. I really need to work on it. I'm hoping to just run the 3k in Vegas this weekend, I want to practice my water jumps with the water more. Lifting today we had supersets of hang cleans and DB calf raises, pullups and crab walks, and military pressers and bench jumps. For core we used the exercise balls to do knee tucks, reverse hyperextentions, windshield wipers, flutters, and leg raises. It burned! It was fun though because Jason, Tyson and I were playing Spaceteam... Love that game.

| | Today we had a stamina run and speed workout. It was poop. We ran a mile warmup over to Walmart, then finished our 6 mile loop on a 5 mile stamina run. I stayed with Harley, Brooke, Ivie, and Celeste for 4 miles but fell back on the last one but not by too much. I made it back with plenty of recovery time before the 600, 400, 300, 200, 100 at super fast paces. I ran 2:05, 78, 57, 37, and 15. Then ran a barefoot mile with Bridget. Next, Coach made the whole team go around the stadium and pick up sticks, and after that we made up a cheer about sticks. Yeah we're funny... My Jamba today was Carribean Passion. Weights wasn't too bad, considering we're all racing this weekend. We had a lot of medicine ball core, I paired up with Emily for the sit ups, supermans, Russian twists, reverse supermans, and leg lifts. The leg lifts burned!

| | Emily and I made it to Vegas in 5 hours, new record! When we got to UNLV, Emily, Vieves, and I ran around their campus for 15 minutes. We went back to the track to watch the 5k, go wolverines! University of Las Vegas (2 Miles) 00:11:09, Place overall: 4, Place in age division: 2 | | UNLV Invite today! I ran a 20 minute warmup to the Strip and back with Bridget, nearly getting hit by a car and getting whistled at... It was great. Classy Vegas. We did our drills together and started the 3k. I was a little worried because the seed times were almost a full minute faster than what I ran at BYU, and there were only 8 people in the race. I ran the first 300 out with a UNLV girl but I was too comfortable with the pace so I broke away from her and kept my eyes on Bridget and another UNLV girl. Coach Adamson said I had really good form the whole race, which I was really happy about. I stayed pretty consistent with my splits, but on the last 200 that Granola bar from 2 hours earlier wanted to come back up so it hurt and I got outkicked. I still PR'd by 32 seconds!! And my coaches were all really happy with me, so I was happy. Coach Houle said it would put me at a good steeple time :) I'm hoping to go to California next week and run steeple there! I ran a 15 minute cooldown loop with Bridget, getting whistled at even more. Then Emily and I pigged out on Panda Express... from the Strip. We looked like classy hobos. Nobody flirted with us. It was awesome.

| | Short 4 miles around campus with Emily. We're both still super sore and we went into the training room after for some ibuprofen and massages. We went and got Kneaders cinnamon rolls before weights. Weights hurt a lot, especially the hang cleans and pullups. The core was alright, but my sternum was not very happy with me. Sorry, body. I took an ice bath with Kenzie, Taylor, and Savannah. My legs feel better but my sternum hates me.

| | Today was snowing when we met for practice so we went to use the dreadmills for our interval workout. Yeah, no. I biked a 20 minute warmup, then went on a dreadmill for my 400s. I only did a few of them and I didn't manage the pace on the dreadmill but I did the distance. It was really hard and I know I didn't do all 16 of them, but it was worth a try. Later everyone confessed how hard it was and most of us didnt actually do all of them. Whoops. I did an elliptical cooldown with Savvy for 10 minutes. Intervals on dreadmills don't work very well.

| | Ran a warmup around campus with Vieves, Sav, and Kenzie. The 3k-5k runners workout was 2x1000, 2x800, and a 3 mile stamina. Vieves and I switched off the inside lane on each rep to lead and draft for each other. Our times were 3:45, 3:52, 3:07, 3:07. I started the stamina run out strong with Celeste, but fell off about halfway through. Vieves and Darian caught up so I ran with them. We ran the Geneva loop by Wolverine Crossing, and we hit a few red lights. Ugh. I ran a barefoot cooldown on the field with Vieves and Kenzie. Then we had a team meeting about our home meet and high school meet next week! Yay!

We had a really small group today because we went to Elder Holland's devotional so we did the workout afterwards, and the coaches stayed and timed us :) I ran 18x400s with Bridget, Caity, and Jess. I stayed really consistent with my times, most of them were 82 and 83. My fastest was 80 and my slowest was 85, so I'm pretty satisfied. Afterwards the 4 of us went and ran 15 minutes around the field by the free parking. Did all of my core after and headed home to eat an entire pizza.

| | Today I ran a 2 mile warmup around campus with Emily. We all did drills and such, then I went with Harley, Vieve, Jess, Darian, Bridget, and Ivie to do 8x1000s. Harley and I did the steeple barrier every lap. I ran my first four in 3:50, 3:52, 3:54, and 3:56, but I figured all my last 400s were the same because my 600 splits were 2 seconds slower from each other. I ran the next 2 in 3:54 and 3:59, then Coach told me to take a little bit more rest and he individually timed me. I ran a 3:49 and a 3:47, then ran a cooldown with Jess, Brooke, Ivie, and Bridget. It wasn't too hard of a workout mentally, and I've been improving my workouts now compared to just a few weeks ago, so I'm pretty happy with my running right now. Lifting was on our own today, and when I was done with that I ate the best burrito in the world.

UVU Invite (1 Miles) 00:05:44 | | Today we were hosting our home meet. I was going to run steeple but only 2 of us were registered and we were both from UVU so we got switched to the 1500 instead. Greeeeat. I ran a warmup to the school bathrooms and back with Emily. I was in the 2nd heat for the 1500, and I was seeded at a 5:15. I started out fast and confident because the race was shorter, so I could obviously go at a faster pace than a longer race. Well I went out too fast and ended up burning out. Reasons I like 3k-5k: I am better at pacing myself. I ran a little cooldown by myself, then my mommy bought me In N Out Burger :) And I got a Jamba :)

| | Today we drove to the Murdock Canal for our stamina run. I was in the group doing 6-8 miles of stamina plus mile warmup mile cooldown. I started out alright, but I wasn't feeling too good and slowly fell behind. I just did 6 stamina miles pretty much by myself. Lifting today we didn't do hurdle drills or speed ladders, instead we had this new leg set that would strengthen our glutes and make our gluteus maximuses look fabulous. One of the excersises was called fire hydrants, the name made a few of us giggle. We also had pullups, crabwalks, DB calf raises, hang cleans, and ankle balances. Our core was with the exersise ball today; we did knee tucks, reverse hyperextentions, and pikes. Later I took a nice relaxing bath and ate pizza.

We just hurdled over the normal barrier, on my first jump my trail leg thigh was too low and I smacked it on the barrier and rolled onto the track. I went down, and I yelled timber! But I got back up and kept practicing. We practiced hurdling it in a pack, it was Harley, Brooke, Trac, TIm and I. After, I went to the trainer and got an ice pack then went and took a nap and ate a sandwich before lab.

| | After the usual warmup, we proceeded to do our 400 repeats. Those of us racing this weekend only ran 10, everyone else did 20. Every other 400 I would run it in lane 3 with the hurdles. I kept my first 7 400s between 84-86, but then I ran a 92, 1:42, and 93. I finally got a full night of sleep, so hopefully I'll be getting better. Can't wait to be done with finals.

Vieves and I stuck together the first 3 laps, but then the heat and dryness got to me and I mentally gave up on myself. I seriously considered just dropping out because it really wasn't worth it at this point. I don't even want to know my final time.

Went on a longer cooldown with Brooke, Celeste, and Ivie to get to 9 miles.. Later I had my swim test at 7 Peaks, I did great on the treading and the 300M swimming, and I was about 5 meters away from being done on the brick portion but then I failed. After I went to watch the high schoolers run at BYU and I got another mile because the bus route was on detour for the half marathon, and I had to run to Logan's work to take him food.

| | This morning we ran a 10 min warmup and did 6x400 and 4x300 with equal recovery. I ran my 400s between 83-87. My first 300 was a 63, the next a 58. On the third one, Ivie pointed to the ground next to her and told me to stay on her heels, which really helped me run that 55. She did the same on the last one and I ran a 53 :) I ran a 3 mile cooldown with Ivie, Jess, and Celeste on the shorter Center Street loop.
Later I went to Lifeguarding class for 5 hours which really drained my energy but I love it :) I'm excited to start working! I can swim the full length with the brick and I have all week to train on getting the time I need, which I almost have! :)

| | Easy 4 around the grass at Sugarhouse this morning. I stayed on the grass because I need soft surface right now. Then I ran into Ben and talked to him for a few minutes, it was fun to catch up! Now it's ice/massage/elevate time. Oh and core. I almost have a 6 pac.

| | Easy 6 up Rock Canyon with Kenzie and Skotie this morning. It would have been perfect but I had a super bad tummy ache :( Later I walked 3 miles from the med clinic to the school. Fun stuff.
Later, a bunch of us planned to go running but I didn't have my shoes with me so I biked barefoot for 7 miles. We started at Pinnacle and went to Sandhill over to Geneva, then on Geneva until the stoplight and we went up to a roundabout where we got on a dirt trail that took us back to Sandhill.

| | 26 miles biking = 8 miles running.
Brenden, Dillon, and Nelson needed to run 15 miles, so Jazz and I biked along. We went down Sandhill to Geneva then over to Provo Center street to do the airport loop. The first mile of the gravel wasn't that bad, but the last 3 miles on the gravel was awful on the bike because the rocks kept getting bigger. I almost fell over several times and I felt like I was in an earthquake it was so bad. It felt so nice to be on pavement again. Jazz and I caught up to the boys and we continued up the PRT until we got to Geneva and back to Sandhill.
Later, Logan needed 10 miles so we went the same way to Geneva but instead of going south to Provo we went north towards Lakeside and went along the road that goes by Lakeside Park towards Utah Lake and turned around at 6.5 miles to take 1200 West back to Pinnacle.
First 25 mile bike ride. Check.
My butt is going to hurt tomorrow.

| | Met all the new freshies today!! :) We took them up Verticle Mile... ha ha ha. Just kidding, it wasn't so bad. Besides, it's nice to run it before time trials.
I just ran out 3 and back 3, sticking with Harley, Jasmine, and Alex for most of it. It was fun :)
I'm excited for all of our meetings and such tomorrow! #WolverineWay

| | This morning we ran the 6 mile loop from the WAC. We ran up 1200 towards Geneva and down towards Sandhill and back. It was supposed to be an easy run, but the freshmen were pushing it at a 6:50 pace so the rest of us dropped down to a 7:40 because "easy run" is not supposed to be a "tempo run". But Emily and I were talking about how we all did the same thing last year as freshmen because we were so used to being the top runner in high school that we had to prove that we were fast, so we'll give the newbies a few weeks.

| | This morning the girls wanted to go run rock canyon, but I wouldn't have had enough time because I had a work orientation for my new job, so I ran alone from the wac. I just did the 4 mile loop around Geneva and Wolverine Crossing.

| | Went to Mountain View Park tonight to do some 1000s. Logan was timing me and supporting me, which really helped me have a great workout. I did 1.5 warmup then a 200 stride for pace. I ran 6x1000 with 4 minutes active rest. My splits went 4:05, 4:02, 3:58, 3:54, 3:53, and 3:51. I was feeling really happy. My last 3 and my cooldown were Barefoot. It was awesome! |

| | Tonight Nelson let me take his dog Ghost to Vintage Park so I could run 4xmile. I ran a 15 minute warmup on PRT then at the park I stretched. My miles were 6:23, 6:27, 6:26, and 6:15. My 800 splits were 3:02, 3:16, 3:15, and 3:15. I did so much better on this workout than I did last year! I'm feeling really good about this year, and I've been receiving a lot of compliments on how my body has changed. I look skinnier but I've gained a few pounds, which I'm really happy about! I ran a half mile cool down aroud the park. Ghost kept up really well, he likes running and wanted to keep going. Cute pup.

USU (3.3 Miles) 00:20:21, Place overall: 32 | | First race! I warmed up for 2 miles then did some strides before starting. I'm running unattatched this year. I wore my compression socks which was really good for me. I also wore my flats this year instead of spikes because the course is super gravely. I started out at a pace I could hold and I wouldn't die halfway through the race. My first mile was a 6:20 and I felt great. I worked with a pack of USU girls up to Shevaun and Shae. I worked up with them and made it close to Caity. The course was different this year so it was confusing, but it was the same distance as last year and I finished almost 3 minutes faster :) I was happy. I cooled down with the girls and my sister even ran with me a little bit as we cheered on the boys :) everyone ran great today! #WolverineWay
Later I biked 4 miles while Alex and Darian ran. It was a lot of fun!

I went out at a 5:55 mile. I liked this course because it was flat and all on either grass or dirt, but it was loops and not very fun. I started to feel not so great at the beginning of the last mile and my pace fell way off. I think I tried to move too soon during the 2nd mile. My kick wasn't very good either but nobody was near me so I didn't have anyone to battle with.
Later I had lunch on the strip with the redshirts and then we went and hiked Red Rock Canyon :) Later we ice bathed in Yuba Lake... at 1 in the morning! :)

| | I ran out to the Haunted Cabin today. It's been a while, there's a new fence I had to hop. Plus the grass is a lot longer which made it difficult to run but I managed. My plantarfacitis was killing me the last half mile, it hasn't hurt this bad in a few weeks :/ Well, going on 4 years of having this injury so why stop now? Later I had the trainer pop my back and that still hurts too.

| | Went up to Vivian with Alex, Chance, Petey, and Dan. They had an uphill tempo but I was just running for mileage. I ran their warmup with them, then I ran 30 minutes up Vivian Canyon by myself and turned around when I ran into them. It worked out perfectly! We had core, rollout, and stretching today, then Dillon rubbed out my hamstring.
