| | Today I was not mentally prepared for the workout, 2x1600, 2x1000, and 2x800, steeplers with the barrier and 2 hurdles. I was excited about the hurdles, but the rest of it was kinda poop. My miles were 6:10 and 6:32, my 1000s were 3:59 and 3:57, and my 800s were 3:04 and 2:57. I was also a little bummed because Vieve is sick :( I ran a 20 minute cooldown with Caity.

| | I ran the short Geneva loop with Darian. The snow was miserable. Then I biked for a few minutes with a few of the other girls and we did our 90-90-90 core series.

| | Today we parked over by the Del Taco by the Provo River Trail on University Parkway. We just ran out 1 mile as warm up, then continued at our paces. My window was 7:13-7:55, but I think I was going faster than that because I stayed with Bridgit and Celeste. Most people just ran 6, but I ran a full 10 with them. I fell off with about 2 miles to go, but I stayed strong and close enough to them where I could still see them. I felt really good about this run physically and mentally though! Weights today we had squats, dead seal lunges, partnered core, inverted rows, and plate side lunges. I partnered up with Emily for everything, then we sang on the shuttle again :)

| | The workout today wasn't the best for me. My legs feel like dead puppies and it was really cold and wet. We ran a 20 minute warmup to Center Street and back, plus drills and stretches. The original workout for 3k-5k runners was 8x800, but after 6 we split the next 2 into 4x400. My 800 times were supposed to be 2:51-3:02, and I hit 2:57, 2:57, 2:57, 3:00, 3:10, and 3:11. Coach made me sit the first 400 out so I could stretch my legs because he could tell I was suffering. I've been adding weight to my bars recently, so that might be why. My 3 400s were 82, 86, and 83, and I wanted to do my last one but we were going on our cooldown right then just to be done. I just ran towards the light with Kenzie and Vieve, then Kenzie and I added on another half mile while ranting about everything. It felt great :) Weights today was pretty good, we had a new partnered core series with jack-knives, squids, supermans, windsheild wipers, and swimmers, which I did with Vieves. We also did our lateral plate lunges, band strengthening, alternating jump lunges, military arm raises, and a ton of stretching. Later I met my roommate at Walmart and stocked up on poptarts.

Today we ran a 15 minute warmup and did the usual drills and such. Our workout was 4x200, 1000, 20 minute tempo, 1000, and 4x200. The first 200s I hit 38, 38, 37, and 38. I heard my 1000 time as 3:52, then on the tempo we started with the giant hill by the stake centers and ran to Center St. I didn't like the uphill, but once it flattened out I did better, plus I did better on the downhill. I mostly ran with Jess on this one. When we got back my 1000 was another 3:52, then the 200s were 38, 39, 38, 38. The track was really wet so everyone was splashing, it was kinda fun. For cooldown I ran the sidewalk campus loop with Celeste, Ivie, and Jess. For lifting today we had hurdle drills, then supersets of hang cleans and front marching planks, box jumps and push up series, SLDB RDLs and leg raises, and 30 second ankle balances. I partnered up with Emily for the supersets, and on the hang cleans we went up to 7.5s! Pretty soon I'll up my DB from 10 to 15. The box jumps were pretty fast. And Emily and I got Marcus to smile, it was great.

| | Today I went for an 8 mile run with Kenzie. We ran from the WAC towards Lakeside and ran the long way around the park, where there was construction and it was super muddy. Oh well. When we got to the back of the park we ran west on the road towards the lake, then we ran on a paved path alongside the lake. It was pretty icy/snowy on the path, even though it was a sunny day. We turned and went back, then finished the Lakeside loop the way we usually run our tempos. When we got back to the WAC we still needed a little over a mile, so we ran to the stoplight by the event center then into the parking lot and around into the track. We ran 3 big laps on the track then back to the locker room, which was a perfect 8. We went at a really good pace too, and we didn't have much to talk about besides blueberry muffins vs chocholate chip muffins, so we ran a little faster than a conversation level. After, I ice bathed to my hips for 15 minutes. Gary is a genius, he brought hot cocoa mix for us to drink while in the ice baths. Yay! I did my 90-90-90 cores and headed home. Then since my lab was cancelled I got a 2 hour nap!

| | Today we ran the same stamina run we ran last week. I ran out 5 miles with the same girls at the same pace, Bridgit, Celeste, and Kenzie at 7:10. I felt better about this run. On the way back, Kenz and I went 7:15-20. I mentally didn't want to do it and my legs hurt, but I also didn't want to get raped on the PRT so I worked it. Great motivation, right? Lifting today was really light, after the speed ladder drills since Em and I were the only girls we paired up for the supersets. We did the jumps first, then the squats and inverted rows, then the plate lunges and pull ups. I did my core when I got home later because we were determined to catch the bus.

| | Brenden and Nelson showed up to my house by surprise at mile 5 of their 16 mile run, so I biked the other 11 miles with them! It was fun! We went down 900 east to State and went on the road towards Mapleton/Spanish Fork, then we turned on a road I don't know and went over a couple of miles. We went through this little forest area, it was a little creepy because it was getting a dark out, but as long as I could see the boys I was ok. Then we went through some neighborhoods and I recognized where I was. I was tempted to just bike up Center street and home because I had originally planned to do just 4 with them, but I kept going. We turned by Macey's and went up that creepy road until we got to Pinnacle. Then they drove me home and I ate some bread.

| | Today for our workout we had 8x1000. I couldn't find my pink Mizunos at my house and I forgot to change into my purple ones at the WAC, so I ran in my flats. Big mistake, my plantarfacitis killed and now I have some huge blisters. I shocked myself with my first one, my window was 3:54-4:02 and I ran a 3:38. Then I ran 3:41, 3:48, 3:51, 3:53, 4:02, 4:01, and 4:04. My plantar KILLED me on my last few, but I only went over my window once. I ran a cooldown to Walmart and back with Bridgit, Ivie, and Celeste. These blisters are gonna suck butt.

| | Today after the team meeting (and a few of us getting lectured for staying out until 4:30am the other day...) I went for a run with Kenz and Em. We ran along 1200W to 400N and then to Geneva Rd, to University Parkway, and back to the locker room. Then a bunch of us went and rolled out in the training room and had some Gatorade, it was red today. Then I got a text saying all steeplers to the barrier :) It was just Brooke and I today since the other steeplers all had class, but I kinda liked having a lot of Coach's focus on me. We just jumped the barrier a few times, but it was great :)

| | Today it was too windy to do our stamina run on the PRT, so Coach sent the boys to the Golds on UP and the girls to the one on 800N so we could use the treadmills. We ran 1 mile warmup, then I went 8.5 (7:03 pace) for 2 miles and 8.7 (6:53) for another 2. Then a cooldown. We were gonna do it in the cardio cinema because The Hobbit was showing, but it was full.
Later, our weight room had been taken over by golfers so we had to go to Golds again for lifting. I went with Jason and Tyson and we did our pullups and RDLs, hang cleans and inverted rows, jump lunges and DBCTP, and core series. Then we went and sat in the hottub, then swam in the pool, then hung out in the sauna for a few minutes. It was pretty funny.

| | Ran 5 easy miles with Savannah and Emily since we're racing at Weber tomorrow. We ran up campus to Krispy Kreme, then down by Ventana and Pinnacle and along University Parkway to Geneva Rd, then we turned and went back to the WAC along 1200 W.

Weber (1 Miles) 00:05:50 | | At the meet I warmed up on the upstairs track with Emily. We did our drills, strides, and hair together before lining up. The race went out really fast, I was at the back of the main pack and my first 200 was a 38. Holy crap. My 400 split was 1:19, and I already knew that I shouldn't have started so fast. My 800 split was a 2:47, and my final time was around a 5:50. Ew. I ate a bagel and a Greek yogurt parfait then cooled down on the upstairs track with Emily and Savannah. Then on the drive home we stopped for McFlurrys and I got the Jazz home game day deal on chicken nuggets, yum!

| | Happy Birthday to... ME!
Today was short, fast, and really, really, hard. Our workout was 2x 600, 400, 300, 200, 100, girls at 4:48 pace. Holy poop. On the first set my times were 1:55, 77, 55, 37, and 16. It was tough because our rest was short. On the second set I ran 2:06, 82, 55, 38, and 15. Not so great. I ran a cooldown with Emily up by the library then we ran through the building and came out by the UCCU Center and headed back to the WAC. Weights was on our own today so Vieves and I got it done and I headed home. Birthday dinner at Pizza Pie Cafe tonight! Yay!

| | Since pretty much everyone is af Conference this week (Good luck to my teammates!!) there's only a few of us this week working with Coach Evans. We drove to the PRT on Geneva Rd and I ran out 3 and back with Emily, Savannah, and Maddie. It was sports bra, spankies, and tanning weather. #WolverineWay. My Jamba Juice of the day was Strawberry Wild.

| | Today we all drove out to Carterville to do our hills workout. Boys and girls just ran the warmup together, which was pretty fun. I fell back a little bit on first few hills and caught up on the flat recovery, but then Coach Evans told me to raise my arms and swing them back and I was able to stay with the girls instead of falling a few steps back! Emily and I killed it on the way back for the hard flats, it felt great! We did the out and backs twice then cooled down. The gatorade was orange today :) Later we all did our lifting and had a small dance party. Then I went home and took a 3 hour nap. My Jamba earlier was berry blast.

| | Today I went to the pool and did the usual swim workout with Em, Sav, and Vieves. Later, I went to a spin class with Em and HOLY COW IT WAS AMAZING AND INTENSE. We're going to try to start going to spin every week, we were drenched in sweat but it felt soooo good! My Jamba earlier was peach pleasure.

| | Today we went up to the parkway at the base of the canyon for tempo. I did a 2 mile warmup with Emily and Brenden, then a 3 mile with Emily and Savannah. We went a 6:40 pace, which hurt but felt good at the same time. We ran a 15 minute cooldown and the gatorade was purple. Strength training today was 20 crab walks (10 each side) front plank, crab walks, side plank, crab walks, side plank, crab walks, back plank, the planks were 1 minute. Now it's time to go home and eat my granola and Greek Yogurt, yum! And my jamba today was a peanut butter mood.
