| | Today my Jamba was a Mango A Gogo. For workout we ran 15 minutes of warmup. Our workout was 8x1000, but we were doing so well that the girls were done at 6 :) On the second lap of each one, us steeplers would hurdle 2 barriers and step over the water one. I really need to work on it. I'm hoping to just run the 3k in Vegas this weekend, I want to practice my water jumps with the water more. Lifting today we had supersets of hang cleans and DB calf raises, pullups and crab walks, and military pressers and bench jumps. For core we used the exercise balls to do knee tucks, reverse hyperextentions, windshield wipers, flutters, and leg raises. It burned! It was fun though because Jason, Tyson and I were playing Spaceteam... Love that game.

| | Today I went with Savannah and Aisha along 1200W to Center street, up to Orem Blvd, back to 800S, and back to the WAC. I did my 90-90-90 before going and getting free pancakes at IHOP. Oh, and I got to hold a puppy :) my Jamba today was an Aloha Pineapple in case y'all were wondering.

| | Today we had a stamina run and speed workout. It was poop. We ran a mile warmup over to Walmart, then finished our 6 mile loop on a 5 mile stamina run. I stayed with Harley, Brooke, Ivie, and Celeste for 4 miles but fell back on the last one but not by too much. I made it back with plenty of recovery time before the 600, 400, 300, 200, 100 at super fast paces. I ran 2:05, 78, 57, 37, and 15. Then ran a barefoot mile with Bridget. Next, Coach made the whole team go around the stadium and pick up sticks, and after that we made up a cheer about sticks. Yeah we're funny... My Jamba today was Carribean Passion. Weights wasn't too bad, considering we're all racing this weekend. We had a lot of medicine ball core, I paired up with Emily for the sit ups, supermans, Russian twists, reverse supermans, and leg lifts. The leg lifts burned!

| | Went to Gold's with Tyson, Travis, and Logan today. They all swam but I aqua-jogged for 30 minutes. Then I tried to do homework but fell asleep on the couch instead. Oops.

| | Emily and I made it to Vegas in 5 hours, new record! When we got to UNLV, Emily, Vieves, and I ran around their campus for 15 minutes. We went back to the track to watch the 5k, go wolverines! Then we went with a bunch of the girls for another 20 minutes around the campus. Now we're at a super nice hotel, it's faaaancy.

University of Las Vegas (2 Miles) 00:11:09, Place overall: 4, Place in age division: 2 | | UNLV Invite today! I ran a 20 minute warmup to the Strip and back with Bridget, nearly getting hit by a car and getting whistled at... It was great. Classy Vegas. We did our drills together and started the 3k. I was a little worried because the seed times were almost a full minute faster than what I ran at BYU, and there were only 8 people in the race. I ran the first 300 out with a UNLV girl but I was too comfortable with the pace so I broke away from her and kept my eyes on Bridget and another UNLV girl. Coach Adamson said I had really good form the whole race, which I was really happy about. I stayed pretty consistent with my splits, but on the last 200 that Granola bar from 2 hours earlier wanted to come back up so it hurt and I got outkicked. I still PR'd by 32 seconds!! And my coaches were all really happy with me, so I was happy. Coach Houle said it would put me at a good steeple time :) I'm hoping to go to California next week and run steeple there! I ran a 15 minute cooldown loop with Bridget, getting whistled at even more. Then Emily and I pigged out on Panda Express... from the Strip. We looked like classy hobos. Nobody flirted with us. It was awesome.

| | Short 4 miles around campus with Emily. We're both still super sore and we went into the training room after for some ibuprofen and massages. We went and got Kneaders cinnamon rolls before weights. Weights hurt a lot, especially the hang cleans and pullups. The core was alright, but my sternum was not very happy with me. Sorry, body. I took an ice bath with Kenzie, Taylor, and Savannah. My legs feel better but my sternum hates me.

| | Today was snowing when we met for practice so we went to use the dreadmills for our interval workout. Yeah, no. I biked a 20 minute warmup, then went on a dreadmill for my 400s. I only did a few of them and I didn't manage the pace on the dreadmill but I did the distance. It was really hard and I know I didn't do all 16 of them, but it was worth a try. Later everyone confessed how hard it was and most of us didnt actually do all of them. Whoops. I did an elliptical cooldown with Savvy for 10 minutes. Intervals on dreadmills don't work very well.

| | Today the wind was 1000+ mph so we went to Golds on UP but the power was out so we went to the one on 800N. I ran 1 mile warmup on the treadmill with Vieves at 7.2, then I went up to a 9.9 for half a mile then did the last mile and a half at 9.2. I biked 6 miles cooldown with Vieves then we hopped on the ellipticals for 10 minutes. It was WINDAYYY

| | Ran with the girls along 1200W to Center St and up. Vieves and I turned early and went back to the school, then ran the rooftop. Then we biked for 20 minutes.

| | Ran a warmup around campus with Vieves, Sav, and Kenzie. The 3k-5k runners workout was 2x1000, 2x800, and a 3 mile stamina. Vieves and I switched off the inside lane on each rep to lead and draft for each other. Our times were 3:45, 3:52, 3:07, 3:07. I started the stamina run out strong with Celeste, but fell off about halfway through. Vieves and Darian caught up so I ran with them. We ran the Geneva loop by Wolverine Crossing, and we hit a few red lights. Ugh. I ran a barefoot cooldown on the field with Vieves and Kenzie. Then we had a team meeting about our home meet and high school meet next week! Yay!

| | Today I ran a 10 minute warmup with some of the girls. We had a really small group today because we went to Elder Holland's devotional so we did the workout afterwards, and the coaches stayed and timed us :) I ran 18x400s with Bridget, Caity, and Jess. I stayed really consistent with my times, most of them were 82 and 83. My fastest was 80 and my slowest was 85, so I'm pretty satisfied. Afterwards the 4 of us went and ran 15 minutes around the field by the free parking. Did all of my core after and headed home to eat an entire pizza.

| | Today I ran a 2 mile warmup around campus with Emily. We all did drills and such, then I went with Harley, Vieve, Jess, Darian, Bridget, and Ivie to do 8x1000s. Harley and I did the steeple barrier every lap. I ran my first four in 3:50, 3:52, 3:54, and 3:56, but I figured all my last 400s were the same because my 600 splits were 2 seconds slower from each other. I ran the next 2 in 3:54 and 3:59, then Coach told me to take a little bit more rest and he individually timed me. I ran a 3:49 and a 3:47, then ran a cooldown with Jess, Brooke, Ivie, and Bridget. It wasn't too hard of a workout mentally, and I've been improving my workouts now compared to just a few weeks ago, so I'm pretty happy with my running right now. Lifting was on our own today, and when I was done with that I ate the best burrito in the world.

| | Today we ran 10 mins warmup then did our 6,4,3,2,1 workout with equal recovery. We only had to run 1 set, it was really windy and a little rainy. I ran 2:05, 84, 1:05, 38, and 16. That wind was awful. For cooldown we ran 20 minutes. Em had a genius idea, run through the parking garage to the top. It was great because it was dry in there. Now I'm all bundled up in study hall watching videos from last Friday's workout!

UVU Invite (1 Miles) 00:05:44 | | Today we were hosting our home meet. I was going to run steeple but only 2 of us were registered and we were both from UVU so we got switched to the 1500 instead. Greeeeat. I ran a warmup to the school bathrooms and back with Emily. I was in the 2nd heat for the 1500, and I was seeded at a 5:15. I started out fast and confident because the race was shorter, so I could obviously go at a faster pace than a longer race. Well I went out too fast and ended up burning out. Reasons I like 3k-5k: I am better at pacing myself. I ran a little cooldown by myself, then my mommy bought me In N Out Burger :) And I got a Jamba :)

| | Today we drove to the Murdock Canal for our stamina run. I was in the group doing 6-8 miles of stamina plus mile warmup mile cooldown. I started out alright, but I wasn't feeling too good and slowly fell behind. I just did 6 stamina miles pretty much by myself. Lifting today we didn't do hurdle drills or speed ladders, instead we had this new leg set that would strengthen our glutes and make our gluteus maximuses look fabulous. One of the excersises was called fire hydrants, the name made a few of us giggle. We also had pullups, crabwalks, DB calf raises, hang cleans, and ankle balances. Our core was with the exersise ball today; we did knee tucks, reverse hyperextentions, and pikes. Later I took a nice relaxing bath and ate pizza.
