Working full time in Downtown Salt Lake.  On days where my body feels good and I don't have a 17 hour shift I like to hit up the trails in SLC and PC.

Did the Center St and State St loop with Kenzie and Vieves today. Later I went to steeple practice. We just hurdled over the normal barrier, on my first jump my trail leg thigh was too low and I smacked it on the barrier and rolled onto the track. I went down, and I yelled timber! But I got back up and kept practicing. We practiced hurdling it in a pack, it was Harley, Brooke, Trac, TIm and I. After, I went to the trainer and got an ice pack then went and took a nap and ate a sandwich before lab.

We ran a 10 minute warmup then did drills and stretches. We ran 2 more laps on the track then did a 2 mile tempo. It snowed the whole time I was running, and I had felt sick to my stomach all morning and was still hurting. We stopped after that one and I went and took a nap in the locker room. I went home early and took a longer nap with all my blankets.

Today we ran a 15 min warmup and got ready for our workout. I ran the first 2 800s but my times were really bad. I wasn't hurting, I felt like I was pushing, but I couldn't go any faster. It's like I ran into a wall. After that 2nd one, Vieves and I just went on a run because this workout wasn't going to do us any good. We ran to Lakeside, did a big loop, and came back. I need to get more sleep.

We ran the usual 15 min warmup. I ran 2x1000s, 3:45ish and over 4 minutes. We had hurdles set up for us steeplers, so I got to practice that. But my whole body is just dead. I ran the Krispy Kreme loop for some more miles since I wasn't going to be doing so great the rest of the workout. Lifting we had pullups, crab walks, hang cleans, DB calf raises, reverse hyperextensions, knee tucks, windshield wipers, butt series, and ankle bands. Later at bedtime I got a Charlie Horse and it didn't go away until about 4 am, so there goes a solid night of sleep.

After the usual warmup, we proceeded to do our 400 repeats. Those of us racing this weekend only ran 10, everyone else did 20. Every other 400 I would run it in lane 3 with the hurdles. I kept my first 7 400s between 84-86, but then I ran a 92, 1:42, and 93. I finally got a full night of sleep, so hopefully I'll be getting better. Can't wait to be done with finals.

Everyone should come watch the meet at Utah on Friday and Weber on Saturday! I'm running the 3k at Utah and my lovely teammates are running the 1500 at Weber! Come support the Wolverines!! :)

I ran a warmup up Legacy Bridge and through the student housing neighborhood with Vieves. I didn't really feel too ready at the start, but oh well. Right as the gun went off an entire team cut everyone else off. My first 200 was a 42 and my 400 was 85. Vieves and I stuck together the first 3 laps, but then the heat and dryness got to me and I mentally gave up on myself. I seriously considered just dropping out because it really wasn't worth it at this point. I don't even want to know my final time.

Today long distance had the option of 16x400s or 6-8 miles of stamina. I picked the stamina. I had also just eaten a lot of food. We just ran the Sandhill Geneva loop, since it's about 6.5 miles. I was fine but a little over halfway through I really felt that Chick Fil A. When I got back to the track we ran some 200 J's. I biked for 10 mins after and now it's hammock time.

Today was more on our own, and none of the girls were running until later so I went with Logan and Travis. We went to the parking lot by the verticle mile trail, but we ran on a different trail. I actually really liked this trail.

Today we drove to the Murdock Canal just to run. I ran out at a 7:15 pace against the wind with Kenz, but sometimes I used her to draft. Thanks Kenz! I turned at 3 for 6 and had the wind to my back on the way back to the park so I ran faster, probably about 7 minute pace. We did some long strides on the grass back at the park.

Easy 2.5 pre race day run with Rush and Logan. We're the only ones racing at BYU tomorrow. I'm running my very first 3K STEEPLE! YAY! Afterwards I did some steeple jumps in my spikes with Kenzie. Now it's ice time!
