I spent the first part of my afternoon playing capture the flag at Sugarhouse Park with a couple of teammates. Afterwards I went on a nice relaxing run and headed over to Highlands track to run some hurdle drills. It was a great and fun workout. I even saw my coach on my grass loops run.

Too bad I can't remember the miles of speed we did, i think it was about 3 this time.

We started with our regular warm up and stretching. Then I did more warming up and some Speed Changes. After the Speed Changes, we did mile reapeats and I got a PR of 6:28. After that we did an 800 and called the workout good because of the weather. I did a few hurdle drills to finish off my workout.

Well it's been a long time since I've blogged, but I finally remembered my password! :) After this entry I'll go backwards and fill out my week.

Anyways, today we did 5.25 miles for practice today. We started with our stretching. Afterwards, we did 3 sets of flannagan circuts. Once we finished that, we went on our Shriners run to the drinking fountain. When we got back to the track, we ran a 300 and finished for the day.

Today we ran from the track over to Sugarhouse Park and did some hills. We went back to the school. Our total distance was 5 miles. Later I went up to the Sports Complex and worked on the Elliptical Machine for a while then I did some weight training. Some cute kids watching the hockey game pressed their faces on the glass haha.

Total Distance

Today started with 2 miles from the stadium to the Shoreline Trail. We planned on doing 5 miles, but I don't go well with my coach's directions. So instead of the 5 miles, I ended up with 8.

Fart-liks at Wheeler Farm. I like that place alot, we ran our warm up through the farm, and at one point Natalie, Suzette, and I didn't want to hop a fence because we were scared that we would frighten the horses and we'd get trampled. We made it though. I saw a snake on the fart-liks. I ran those with Ted and Suzette, then Bill told Suzette to run with him, so I was depending on Ted and his watch watch to keep us on the right pace. Then we ran a cool down, same warm up route, minus the horse corrals

The annual Bike 'n' run at Jeremy Ranch. My partner was Suzette, I love that girl! Anyways, I started with a mile on the bike while Suzette ran a mile. I ditched the bike at the 1 mile mark, and ran my mile. While I ran, all the bikers passed me, and when I got to the 2 mile, the bike was waiting for me. We went 5 miles out, 5 miles back. That's 5 for running, 5 for biking. And no, I am never going to post biking miles, that's not running for the fastRUNNINGblog. :)

So hopefully you are friends with a College Runner from Arizona, or else it might be weird if she finds this.

Workout at Fairmont park today. We ran 2 big laps around the park (running the roundabout about 5 times!) Did some step-ups in the skate park area, and I ran 8 laps of J's. I completely forgot that I had just bought a new watch, so I forgot to time myself. We ran a 1 mile cool down.

We started at Sunnyside Park, and were supposed to run from Foothill to something called the Thunderbird. Suzette, Alex, and I didn't have any idea as to what that was, and Michelle had decided to run home, and she was the one with the Garmin, so we ended up getting lost and found ourselves at Cosgriff Catholic School. We ran back up to Foothill to 1300 south, down to 1900 east, and back over to Sunnyside. I'm not sure how many miles we were supposed to do, but I'm sure we went over.

I got bored this evening, so I decided to go on a run. I only planned to go half mile away from my house and back twice for two miles, but I was feeling pretty good, so I kept running to Sugarhouse Park. I ran a 2 mile lap, then ran home. It was a great run, and I was able to bring up my miles this week. :)

Workout today at Liberty Park. We ran a 1 lap warmup. We then did three laps of jogging to the start of the 800 and running the 800. I was feeling really sick, I really need to eat a little before running. I ran with Suzette, and we eventually found Michelle. We ran a cooldown lap together to bring our mileage to 7. :) I really believe I can go over 40 miles this week.

Trail run up Pipeline this morning with the team from Illinoise. I ran with Suzette, Patrick, Maggie, and Becca up the steep hills. Bill decided to have everyone take a different route than usual, so at our first split in the path, we all went up instead of straight. Once we reached the road at the 3 mile mark, we turned around and came back as we were told. We all sat in the creek afterwards, which was freezing but quite refreshing. Patrick, Amanda, and I all had near death expiriences, Patrick almost fell down the hill but managed to grab a tree, Amanda was attacked by a bear (Just Kidding, she just fell) and I was chasing my flip flop down the creek. How dumb of me.

Practice at Cottonwood Complex today. We ran a warm-up around the baseball fields and around the block near the Complex. We did a ladder run on the Regions course, 1 minute on, 1 minute off, 2 minutes on, 2 minutes off, 3 minutes on, 2 minutes off, 2 minutes on, 1 minute off, 1 minute on. (Or something like that, I'm really not sure...) I felt sick the whole workout, I really wanted to puke as I came through the finish area of the workout, remembering Pre-Regions all too well :) We ran a cooldown, just a big loop around the Complex. Then I played on the playground with Susannah and Sarah until Amanda was ready to go. :)

Trail run up Shoreline this morning. Delaney and I were both determined to do more running then usual, so we started before Bill arrived. While running up, we found a huge, circular platform. We stalled for 10 minutes and had a dance party! Then decided to keep running. We were going up the road by Red Butte Gardens when the team caught us, then the trail was closed so we ran back. I've never done that full run with the team ever, as I'm always getting lost. Maybe next time the trail will be open.

Arrived in time to get a mile and a half warm-up in. I ran the 5k, pushing hard to keep up with Lisa. I saw a couple of corner cutters, but I beat them. :) Afterwards I ran a mile and a half cool-down. Then went to einsteins for bagels with Mom and Susannah. Then we dropped off a baby gift at our cousins house, then headed over to Ikea for furniture. We met up with Bill, Kim, Taylor, Dakota, Sam, and Luke at Ikea, so while the adults shopped around, us ridiculous kids were playing with toys and drifting in shopping carts. That was my first time to Ikea ever without getting kicked out! :) AKA my second time overall. :)

Workout at Sunnyside Park today. We ran from the park up Emigration Canyon. At first I was keeping up with Suzette, but I felt really sick and decided that it would be better if I kept up with Amanda. I was craving muffins. Along the way, Emily was in the car with the water bottles so we could have a drink break. Once we heard that Taylor, Ben, Bill, Natalie, and Suzette were doing 13 miles, we turned around when they ran into us. On the way down I was still feeling really sick, so Amanda went on ahead. The canyon is a beautiful place, but by the time I was done I could hardly walk.

Met up with the team at Peace Gardens by the Jordan River Parkway. While we were waiting for Bill, Patrick, Mickey, Michelle, Dylan, Susannah, and I played baseball on a baseball field with a stick and a pinecone, it ended up as kick the cone. Then Bill had us run along the Jordan River Parkway for 3 miles out, and 3 miles back, I was proud to have done the whole run. I had an extreme Harry Potter moment when I was running under a highway bridge, because it was dark, rocky, and it looked like there were inferi in the water. Yes I am a Harry Potter geek! :) The Jordan River Parkway is a beautiful run, and getting lost in Peace Gardens for coming out the final bit is the most fun part.

Interesting workout at Liberty Park this morning. The warm up lap was the best, Delaney and I ran our lap around the park while playing Harry Potter. We were pretending to take the Weasleys Wizard Wheezes products such as puking pastels, fainting fancies, and nosebleed nougats. We also pretended to fight Voldemort and we broke the elder wand. We also stumbled around and blamed it on the Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder, so we had to get a Hand of Glory. When we ran our 3 800s, we were riding our Firebolts. For our cooldown, we defeated Voldemort once and for all. It was an amazing workout!

Today was a workout at Sugarhouse park. I guess the main focus this week is hills. We did the cemetary loop run. At the beginning, I ran with Patrick, Delaney, Sarah, and Becca. After a while, I started losing them at corners, and eventually when I looked back I couldn't see them anymore. I considered going into the cemetary and running the loop, but I have never done that part before and didn't want to get lost. I kept on the street until I reached Melbourne, and I started my way back. A few minutes after running on Melbourne, Emily passed me. Amanda was barely behind her, and I decided the rest of the run would be easier to make it through if I could stay with Amanda. There was some random guy on a bike following us and asking us questions. What school we run for and if the lady running ahead of us (Emily) was with our group. I was a little creeped out and thought that if he followed us any longer I was going to go insane. Eventually Ben passed us, then Amanda and I got to 1700 south so we went around highland and back into the park. Amanda had to be at the dentist at 9, so I went over to the big hill. We ran up it and walked down it backwards 10 times. Then I ran a 1 mile cool down. I did my push ups and crunches and talked with people forever. Now I'm home eating cereal!!

First of all, I would like to wish Susannah a Happy 17th Birthday! Anyways, workout today was at Cottonwood Complex. We started with a 5 mile warm up, running from the Complex to 3300 south, down that one hill, and back over to the Complex. I managed to push to keep up with Amanda again, it was hard, but I'm glad I did it. :) We were doing more hill work today, so we ran to the part of the Region course where you run down a hill across a field and up another hill. We ran those hills 10 times, Roller Coaster!!!! WHEEE! Anyways. After that, Bill wanted us to run a 3 mile cool down just jogging on the Region course, but I only managed a mile of it because I was feeling really sick. The Complex is a fun place, but hard. That doesn't really make sense does it? Oh well. There are exactly 4 weeks (from tomorrow) until Regions!!! I'm so excited! Time to stock up on mangos...

Today was our workout at Wheeler Farm. This has been a difficult week, and I'm really really sore from the past two workouts. We started with our 2 mile warm up. I wasn't feeling too well, so Delaney and I ran the warm up together behind everyone. We also both needed a POTTY break. When we finished the warm up, we did ladders of 1 minute on, 1 minute off, 2 minutes on, 1 minute off, 3 minutes on, 2 minutes off, 4 minutes on, 3 minutes off, 5 minutes on, 4 minutes off, 4 minutes on, 3 minutes off, 3 minutes on, 2 minutes off, 2 minutes on, 1 minute off, 1 minute on, and relax until the loop is done. At first, I ran by myself because the group ahead of me was too fast for me, and the group behind me was slightly slower than the pace I like. I got lapped a lot, then Patrick and Delaney caught up to me. I ran with them for about a lap until Amanda and Kelsie were about to lap me for their first time. As they passed, my watch beeped and we were on again. I decided that I wanted to see if I could keep up with them, I'm so proud of myself! I managed to stay with them the rest of the ladder run, which was the second half. We went to go get a drink with the team, then did more hill work. We ran 10 small loops up the sand hill and down a hill and back around. The downhill was terrible, because there were tree roots everywhere and we were all complaining about spraining our ankles. When we finished with that, everyone sort of broke off to do their own cool downs, however many miles they needed. I needed 2 more, so Dakota and I ran the warm up loop again. It was a hard workout, and I am not looking forward to the JCC tomorrow. Screw trails!

Total Distance

I really hate wild and creepy animals. Today was our trail run up the JCC trail. We started it normally, carrying rocks up the first mile for our little pile of rocks. There was also something slightly new: the temporary shirt pile. I kept running, Ashleigh passed me a little ways after the piles. I made it to the 4 mile going out mark and turned around. On the way up, there is a huge hill about 2 miles in. That hill is killer, and it makes me want to kill someone. Anyways, after coming back 2 miles away from the turnaround point, I got to that hill again. Now we had to run up it 10 times and down it 10 times. Oh the joys of hills week. NOT! Everyone was still there doing the hills, but I was the last one to get there that was going for the full 11. I managed to run the first 4 I was supposed to do, then I had to walk the last 6 because of how painful it was. People finished the hill and continued down one by one. Eventually, Dakota left and I had to do 2 more. I could hear the rattlesnakes. The second I hit the top of the hill on my 10th and final run up, I could hear the snakes getting closer. I booked it outta there! As soon as I reached the shade, I had to walk. But I had only gone a few steps when I heard a big animal moving around, so of course I started booking it again. I picked up my shirt at the rock pile and felt relieved that I only had a mile left of downhill. I started running again, and I saw Dakota. I was scared for my life because wild animals are terrible! So I basically sprinted past Dakota and made my way down. I'm sure my pace was less than a 6 minute mile. I should have slowed down because I could have tripped and died on the rocks, but I could hear animals everywhere. I couldn't see them but I knew they were there. As soon as I saw the opening onto the big road, I managed to slow down and calm myself. I ran down the final steep hill very fast, and went straight into the car. My water bottle was full that morning, and I drank the whole thing. I'm still not over those death hills. I don't really ever want to run at JCC again...

I think the run today was 5, I'm not sure though. Anyways, we started at Liberty park with our warm up lap. I managed to keep up with Susannah and Natalie. Then we did the Firemen run. I ran with the faster group the first lap, which included Susannah, Natalie, RJ, Taylor, Ben, Bill, and the new freshman. Bill said no break at the drinking fountain, but I couldn't continue, so I decided I would wait for the slower group. After about 10 minutes of stretching, I decided to run a lap around the park fast to make up for not going with the faster group. Then we did 10 hills. I thought that by 10 hills, Bill had meant 10 loops to the flagpole and back, but since there's a hill on both sides, it was only 5 loops. But I didn't know that. Then I ran a cool down lap with Michelle. We were soaked because the sprinklers had been on and we had to keep crossing through them, and of course running through the geese.

Boot Camp at Sugarhouse Park! I have been looking forward to this workout eversince it was mentioned along our summer agenda. It was hard, I wanted to have a lame excuse to quit, but I ignored my mental pain and made it through the whole workout. We started with a 4 mile warm up, 2 big laps around the park. I ran with Suzette during that. When we got back to the beginning, we all had to run the circuits. Popcorns, stride, jumping jacks, stride, squats, stride, mountain climbers, strides. After one set, we jogged over to one of the pavillions and did step ups on the park tables, 3 sets of 1 minute. After those, we jogged over to a shady spot in the grass for crunches and push ups. 3 sets of 15 push ups and 20 crunches. On the third set of push ups, we had to do this funky thing with our arms, I can't really describe it? Oh well. After that part, we ran around the pond to one of our favorite hills. 2 weeks ago, that hill was very hard. After last weeks hill week, (mainly jcc) this hill is really nothing. After 10 little loops up the hill around the tree and down, we jogged to the drinking fountain. Then we did 3 sets of leg lifts for 30 seconds. At this point I was starting to sing out of insanity. Patrick said he really wished he could punch me. After the leg lifts, we jogged over to where we had ran circuits first, and did another set. After this set, we jogged over to the highland track and found a wall to do wall sits, 15 seconds. After 3 sets of those, we took a short drink break and jogged to the highland bleachers. I think it's called something ladder? I don't know. We would run up one set of small stairs (no skipping stairs) jog to the next set of stairs, run down, jog over, run up, jog over, run down, and sprint back to the first set of stairs. We did this 5 times. After that, we did this wierd thing on the wall, I don't know what it's called. We did 3 sets of 15 though, and on the 15th one of the third set, we wanted to see who could hold it the longest. I almost made it, but my legs were starting to hurt, and my hands too. After that, we went onto the highland track. It is so slippery, I hate it! We did our lunges, and all sorts of our things. We started to sing again, I'll Make a Man out of You. We also did our sound effects for the core stuff we were doing, Emily thought it was obnoxious. But Taylor and Scott made it up, so of course it's obnoxious...:) After that, we ran a 2 mile cool down, one big lap around the park backwards. It was a hard workout, but I'm glad we survived. Good job today, everybody!

Speed workout at the track today. We started out with 2 miles warm up, 1 mile speed changes. 12 laps around the track is really boring. After that, we ran a mile to see how we were doing, I only managed a 6:57, which is awful compared to how close I was to breaking 6 minutes in track season. I HATE TRACK! Anyways, back to XC. After that mile, we ran a 2 lap cool down, followed by an 800 and a 1 lap cool down. Then we did 4 400s (with about a lap cool down in between) After the 400s, we ran a 3 mile cool down. Everybody else went to Sunnyside Park for their cool downs, but I stayed and did big grass loops around the stadium with Patrick, Suzette, and Delaney. We did 3 big loops, and then Suzette and I continued to do 2 more laps on the track to bring our 8.5 up to 9. I'm considering an evening run to get to 10 miles with everybody else...but I took a long nap afterwards, and I just discovered that I've been sleep texting Delaney. Oops.

Run up Gardsmin trail/puke hill today. I ran with Sarah, Patrick, Maggie, and occasionally Michelle. On the way back everybody else passed us. It was a painful run, I kindof understand why it's called Puke Hill now, because I felt so sick after those nasty switchbacks.

Cross Country has it's ups and downs, they're called hills. The time was 4 seconds slower than my time at Running of the Leopards, but that was 3.10 miles, this course today was short. I ran a 3 mile cool down with Bill, Dakota, Taylor, Natalie, Scott, and Susannah. In my age group, Susannah got 1st, Natalie got 2nd, and I got 3rd. :)

Have to tell you, Amanda on your favorite blog's isn't amanda. As well, Bill takes you nowhere... So you have that one wrong too.

Anyways go 3rd place! Everyone knows getting 3rd is the cool thing to do.

Practice was at JCC today. I despise that trail so much, I've decided I never want to run on it. So I picked my JCC alternative: The elliptical at the SLC Sports Complex. I did that for about half an hour, while reading my boring summer reading book, Jane Eyre. After that half hour, I went into the weight room to do some other things. I didn't really want to use the fancy stuff, so I just grabbed 2 weights and did 3 sets of arms, 1 minute with weight, 1 minute without. After that I did a funky thing Bill showed us back in track(I hate track with a burning firey passion.) season. You lift one weight and move it diagonally back and forth while kindof leaning, I don't know how to describe it. After 3 sets of it on each arm, I did 3 more sets of just arms, because Mom wasn't ready to leave yet. Then we went and waited for 1.5 hours at the bottom of the JCC trail for everybody to finish the 14 mile run. So glad I did the elliptical today!!

Started at Sunnyside park. We ran up 8th south to the Zoo, turned right, and onto Wasatch Blvd. I couldn't keep up with anyone except Patrick, so I followed him, giving directions. We were supposed to go on Wasatch blvd until we reached Thunderbird before cutting down to Foothill, but Patti turned down a few streets early but ran into the team, and Bill told us to run back up it and go the other way. When we reached Thunderbird, we ran around looking for the drinking fountain and eventually gave up. Then we ran along Foothill to 13th south, down to 19th east, over to 8th south, and dropped back down to the park where we ate donuts and muffins. It's an okay run...not on my favorites though.

Okay, to quote Mr Young, "Is she stupid?"

when you reach Thunderbird, you go the same direction you have gone for like 2 miles, and then you run into it on your left.

So really ... how did you miss it?

I agree with Taylor on this one. I did the short one, but we kind of already gone to this drinking fountain before and it's right next to the freeway!

Oh well! Good Job Girl! See ya on the field, we'll beat em all! With pokemon and out wizarding skills ;)

She kept elbowing me and every time I tried to pass her she sprinted. Eventually she wore down and I managed to get ahead of her. In the last 300, I passed the short Brighton girl, but in the last 100 she outkicked me. I was quite upset.

I have no idea how many miles I really did, so I'm assuming 5. I started at my house, ran a warm up to Sunnyside park, ran at a faster pace for a big lap around the park, along 19th east to Harrison avenue, down to 16th south over to 17th east, up to 17th south, back down to 16th south, and cooled down over to Harrison Avenue and home. It was a nice run.

I love early mornings. We did 1 mile warm up, 1 mile speed changes, 2 300s, stride relays, and 1 mile cool down. My favorite part of that workout was the pancakes, I made mine look pretty.

After school we went over our race course. We ran 1.6 mile up to This is the Place Heritage Park, and went over the race course. I barely got past the 2 mile when I realized I was running late, so instead of going up the trail loop again, I went down to the parking lot for Shoreline trail where we usually park to go run. I ran down Sunnyside all the way to the locker room. It was so hot! Bad day to wear black top and bottom.

Our morning workout was to run up to Sunnyside Park, run 2 big loops, 10 strides, one loop cool down, back to the stadium, and 1 lap around the track for 5 miles. It was the Murray Invitational today. I ran a 3 mile warm up, 3 mile race, and 2 mile cool down. The start of the race was dumb, because our team got squished in the start line. And when the race started, there were so many elbows thrown around. Bill gave us the quote of the day, "God gave you elbows for a reason. Use them." Well the first start a bunch of the girls fell over and created a big heap in the way. 3 of my teammates fell over in that heap. Luckily they restarted that race. But the second race, Amanda and I both tripped and fell, but we knew to stand up and keep going instantly instead of assume that the race was going to restart. I got a PR!!

Then we ran from Sugarhouse Park to Fairmont Park. We stretched, ran 8 strides, and continued along 9th east to 17th south, dropped down to 5th east, and ran up to the Liberty Park drinking fountain on the Southeast corner of the park on 13th south and 7th east. Then we ran to our hill, where we did 3 loops. (6 hills around the flagpole) We ran to 9th south and 7th east, and up. So first of all, I have no idea what my time is, so I just put 21 minutes. I'll correct it later when I find out. When we got there, I warmed up with Natalie and Amanda for about 2 miles. We raced the 5K, I really like that course. The first mile is up the Settlement Canyon road, then you turn right onto the trail, which is really rocky and pretty dangerous. After about 2 and a half miles on the trail, the last half mile is coming down from the trail, looping around this gravel area, running through some tough rocks, through a creek, and to the finish. Good job Natalie, for taking 2nd overall, great job to the rest of the girls! Good job Susannah, for placing 18th...in the boys race. :) For a cool down, I ran with Natalie, Amanda, and Bill up the road again. We found a huge tarantula, it was very scary. I continued to cool down with them, then we grouped with a few others and finished our 4 mile cool down so we could hit 9 miles today. Hitting my miles this week is hard...

For the morning workout, Varsity ran up Sunnyside Ave to Foothill, over to the corner cafe, up that big hill, and through the U campus to Legacy Bridge. Amanda and I ran it together the whole 5 miles. After Legacy, we went back to the stadium the regular way, cutting through some of the campus and across Guardsmin way. Breakfast was amazing, muffins!!

The afternoon workout was hard. I'm so happy and I feel so accomplished, I managed to keep up with Natalie and Susannah! We ran up Sunnyside, across Guardsmin, cut through U campus, up to Shriners Hospital, up to 11th ave, over to City Creek Canyon, past the Capitol building, down to South Temple, and up. As we went up, we passed what I call the alphabet streets, because there is A street, B street, so on and so forth. I was still with Natalie and Susannah at this point, but it was getting harder and my leg was aching. Eventually at Q street, I couldn't keep up anymore, this was about mile 7. I managed to run from Q street to 1300 south, across the park, and over. At 4th south, Amanda caught up with me, I was  glad to have someone to run with! We finished the last bit together. When we got back, the team was cleaning and filling our ice tub. Then lots of people crammed into it. It was a very hard run, and it's been a very hard week, but I'm so glad that I've survived.

We had a Saturday morning workout at Sugarhouse Park today. We ran a big loop around the park for a warm up, which was 2 miles. Then we ran 1 mile of speed changes on Highland's track. After that, we did a timed mile, I hit around a 6:30, I really don't know. We did a 2 lap recovery for that one, then we proceeded to run 8 400s, each with 1 lap recovery. So far on the track we were at 5.5. We finished with a 2 mile cool down. I have a really really bad feeling about my miles last week compared to this week...and the hip pain...

We ran up to Wasatch Blvd. and the run flattened out, it felt amazing to not be running uphill anymore. Once we reached Thunderbird, we continued to the drinking fountain. My mom made some very yummy pancakes, and the whipped cream sprayed up instead of down, getting in Suzette's hair. Sorry Suzette!

For an afternoon workout, we did 1 mile warm up, 1 mile speed changes. My hip felt okay. Then we did 6 400s each with 1 lap cool down, then 6 J's. My hip killed! My 400 times are just unmentionable, and the wind did not help at all. After I completed my workout, I sat in the ice tub for 20 minutes with Natalie and Dakota to our hips. We left our Stadium on the bus at about 3 in the morning so we could make it to Boise in time for the Elite Girls race. I ran a mile and a half warm up around the Eagle State Park with the other girls so we could get a look at the terrains on the course. We started in box 5, and as soon as they fired the gun, the song "Hey Mickey" came on. Of course us East girls burst out laughing.

I did not like that first stretch of field, the grass was too long and it was very bumpy. It moved on to the dirt, and there was dust everywhere. It was pretty crowded, so I had to use my elbows just in case. The sand wasn't very fun either, but it was the mile mark. I was at a 6:39 at that point, so I decided to keep my pace even and keep passing people. Just before the hill, someone tried to shove me out of her way, some people are so vicious. The second lap was also very dusty, but not as bad because the pack had spread out. When I passed the mile 1 mark again, the timer said 16:40, so I figured it was probably around mile 2 and a half.

My cool down was a mile and a half. I ran around the area for a bit, but it was really crowded. Then I met up with Suzette, Maggie, and Amanda. We ran to the park entrance and took pictures by the sign. Then we ran back to our spot. I like having the first race. We got back to East at about 1 in the morning Sunday.

I started with a 1 mile warm up around the track. Within the first 100 meters, I had a REALLY bad side cramp. After that mile, I did 1 mile of speed changes, and my cramp didn't hurt so much. After that, I ran a 1200. It felt okay, but then we had to do 12 200s. I made it through 4 200s when Bill decided that it would be better if I did core work. I think it was because I was dehydrated, I hadn't had very much water today. I decided to do some stretching, then 3 sets of 10 pushups, 30 seconds of leg lifts, and 30 crunches. I also did 1 30 second plank.

My warm up was with the rest of the varsity girls and we went over some parts of the course for a little less then 2 miles. Our race plan was for the top 4 of us to run a 6:30 first mile, then back off to about 7:20. We did pretty good for the first little part, but I was in 5th at the first mile and I had a 6:48. I decided to try harder, but my knee started hurting. I managed to pass one Bountiful girl, but along the top part of the park, 2 more Bountiful girls passed me. I tried, but the pain was getting worse. At mile 2, I was at 15 minutes flat. I hated that course, it goes back and forth too much and it seems like it will never end. I sat in the creek for 15 minutes to help my legs, then went on a 3 mile cool down with Suzette. We found a couple of interesting trails to run on, then we ran around the pond.

When we got there, the JV girls had little time to warm up. My race wasn't until 5, so I went around with people to cheer my teammates on. Great job to our JV boys and girls!! After the JV girls ran, I went running with a couple of them, plus some other varsity girls for a warm up/cool down. Suzette gave us some good advice about the course, such as the places where it is muddy or the places where people are weak and strong, and how bad the track smells. The advice really helped. We did a 2 mile warm up, then headed to the line. There were alot of elbows at the beginning, but when it was more spread out it was easier to pass everybody. In the last 300 meters of the race, there was a crowd in front of me I needed to pass, and I saw a coach of another team point at the girl in front of the crowd as number 20, so I gave my everything and ended in 20th place. I finally broke 20 minutes!!! And I hope I can do it at regions! For a cool down I only managed a mile, because the varsity boys race had already started. Great job varsity boys and girls!!! The only thing that really upsets me is us girls were 4 points away from a trophy...

This was our day. I ran about 1.5 miles for a warm up and the rain and wind was impossible! Fortunatly the weather cleared slightly for the varsity races. Our team had an excellent start, great job everybody! For the first mile, I was going back and forth with a Woods Cross girl for 8th and 9th place. She is good at pushing up hills, so I did my best to stay with her and pass with her. Once we were fighting 5th and 6th places, I did a speed change to get away from her. I could still hear her getting close, which pumped my adrenaline. I PRd by about 20 seconds!!! Good job to Susannah for getting 1st, Natalie for getting 2nd, Maggie for getting 15th, Amanda for getting 21st, Suzette for getting 22nd, and Sarah for getting 26th. Our final team score was 44 points, we won by 8 points this year, last year it was 1 point win. I'm so proud of all of you fairies out there!!! Our varsity girls proudly won our 2nd trophy in a row. Good job ladies!! Also, congrats to Scotty and Ben for individually qualifying for our boys team!!

That was the most fun 8 mile run ever. Susannah, Natalie, Amanda, Suzette and I stayed together the whole 8 miles. We started at the stadium, went up to Gardsmin, up to Milton Bennion Hall, across Legacy Bridge, through U Campus Housing, to the Red Butte Shoreline trail. We had planned to go on the trail and down Sunnyside, but the trail was closed and we didn't want to take the detour. So we went on a trail to our left that took us to the JCC. Once we got to the area where it's still really wide where we did summer practices, we went onto a paved road and on 11th avenue. One small hill we went down was so steep, we were doing old lady power walks down, because we can't afford for someone to biff it with state being 13 days away. We continued on 11th avenue to a certain turnaround point and turned back to come our Shriners route. When we got back to the stadium, we did 1 lap in lane 8 for a total of 8 miles that day. Apparantly people had waited for us at the Red Butte Shoreline trail forever, but we were too far ahead to care! :D

Today we did speed at Liberty Park. We drove down there, Choncho Truck party! We did 1 lap warm up, then jogged over to the start line. We decided that we would just go around the park, 1 mile fast, recovery, 1 800, recovery, 1 800, recovery, 1 mile, recovery, then a lap of cool down. My first mile was 6:41, it felt really slow, and it was. I'm ashamed of my performance today. My 800 times were 3:18 and 3:22. You could tell that I was getting worse throughout the workout because my final mile time was 7:04. RCRT: Really Crappy Running Today. I hope to do better at practice tomorrow at Pipeline, I actually kindof miss running on that trail from summer workouts. It's serious state training time!

Saturday team workout at 11 at Pipeline trail. It was nice and chilly, and the effect of the fall leaves all over the trail was beautiful! I was keeping up with Amanda, Susannah, and Gavin pretty well at the beginning, until I tripped. That makes me have my scars from JCC, Shoreline, and Pipeline, so I'm still scared of Settlement Canyon and Gardsmin Trail. So I ran from that point on with Suzette and Maggie to the turn around. Shortly after we turned around we saw a TARANTULA! It was so scary! I probably screamed the loudest, and once we finally were gutsy enough to pass by it, Scott, Amanda, and RJ had come back to see what was wrong; they were under the impression we saw a rattlesnake. We ran with them for a while, the adrenaline was up. Eventually I got tired and ran the rest of the way on my own.

Today was a speed workout. We started with the usual 1 mile warm up and 1 mile of speed changes. I kept up with Maggie and Stephie for the whole 2 miles. We did 1 lap of recovery, then the speed stuff. First we did an 800, and I hit about a 3:15. We ran 1 lap recovery then did another 800, which I did about a 3:25. After 1 lap recovery from that one, we did 4 400s, each with 1 lap recovery. I was hitting between 90 and 95. After that, we did 8 200s. I would have been able to do 1 mile cool down if I wasn't in such a rush. Oh well :(

Today we drove down to Liberty in the Choncho Truck with Natalie and Delaney. We met up with the team and ran 2 laps for a warm up around the park. After that, we took THE CONES (fear them, they are THE CONES!) We did a relay sort of thing for hills, and I actually liked it because doing relays for hills makes it so much better! The first time I was on a team with Riley, RJ, Natalie, and Sarah. What we did was start 3 teammates on one side of the hill, so we had to do a stride up the hill, around the first cone, to the second cone, and down to the other set of teammates and tag someone. There were some annoying groups smoking at the top of the hill, and they were saying the stupidest things at us. "Double time now! Go runners!" Well I almost invited them to do the workout with us. For the second relay, we moved one of our cones so we wouldn't run by those annoying people again. My team changed a bit, we swapped Sarah for Amanda. This time, instead of going up and over, we did a loop. All the team members were on one area, so we had to run up the hill, over to the other cone, down the hill, around the big pine tree (that one? this one?) and back to tag the next person. It was so much fun! For a cool down we ran 2 more laps around the park, giving us about 7 miles for the day. The ride back to the stadium consisted of many pinkys, Hey Soul Fireflies, and Waka Waka! :)

Today we just did the Thunderbird run. And I was an idiot who decided to wear black, so it was really, really hot. I ran with Stephie up Sunnyside to Foothill. We stretched at the light. Angela and Noami met us up at that corner and we continued up to the zoo. We went up that one hill (like how detailed that was?) to Wasatch Drive. Just before we turned down to run along the golf courses road, Stephie totally biffed it on a sprinkler head. It was scary. We ran on the never ending stretch of road until we finally reached Thunderbird. After stretching and getting a drink, we came back the usual way. We went along foothill all the way to the Wendy's, and down to 19th east. We continued on 19th east to Sunnyside Avenue again, then went down back to the stadium. By the time we got back, everyone had pretty much gone, and Bill was ready to come look for us. I guess today was just one of those days for me where I just couldn't push up that first hill, it's a forever road.

Since we're on UEA break, there was no school, so we had a workout at 1 in the afternoon today. We met up at Peace Gardens, and while we waited for Bill, we were swinging and playing on the playground. I was reminded of the time we played pinecone and stick baseball. Anyways, we ran 3 miles out along the Jordan River Parkway and back the same way. When we got back, we stretched and did core work. After stretches, we started with our strides, then arms, leg lifts, reach for the stars, and lunges in that order. Then we went over to the pavillion for step ups and wall sits. On the last set of step ups, we had to make it to 60 step ups, (last one done is a rotten egg!) Good thing I wasn't last:) The wall sits were worse, since the walls there are really rocky. They look great, but they are also the worst place to do wall sits.

Today we met at Wheeler Farm for an afternoon workout. We did the usual warm up around the farm, it was pretty crowded. After that, we went over to our .4 loop to do fartlek. We did 2 sets of 10 1 minute off 1 minute on. For the first 20 minutes, I ran with Suzette, she timed while I counted. Pushing was difficult, especially through the sand. On the second set of 20 minutes, I ran with Suzette and Patrick for a while. I was pushing really, really hard on the last 10 minutes of it. When we finished fartlek, we ran a cool down around the farm. Wheeler farm is a fun place to run, but if we go there too much I'm sure we'll all be sick of it.

This morning Susannah and I went down to Liberty Park. We planned on doing 4.5, which is 3 laps around the park. But at the end of the 2nd lap, I was feeling really sick, so I continued on the 3rd lap half mile out and came back for a total of 4 easy miles today.

Today was really light. We ran up to Sunnyside, ran 1 lap, and met at our tree. Then we did 1 lap of firemen around the park, I was grouped with Maggie, Stephie, Suzette, and Sarah. After that lap, we ran 2 400s, but they aren't full 400s (but they also have downhills...) I ran a 1:19 and a 1:17. After that, we did strides, one down to the soccer goal, 1 to the other soccer goal, 1 back to the first goal, and 1 up the hill again to our tree. We did that routine twice. Then we ran 1 lap around the park and back to the school for a cool down, I stayed with Suzette throughout the whole workout. And I love her neon!! :)

State today!! I slept in and didn't go to math, but I went to Language Arts today, and I skipped French and Health to get on the bus and go race! When we got there, they were still on 2a girls. The varsity girls and one of our alternates all went on a 3.5 mile warm up, we went over some places in the course where we could use our advantages. At the starting line, we sang our songs and did our cheer. The start was kindof terrible, people were crowding in too soon and I almost wiped someone out who sprinted right in front of me and started walking, it reminded me of in last track season how someone cut in front of me and I took her out... Anyways back to the race. Going up the first hill on the pavement didn't feel good, my spikes felt wierd. On the flat part, I went for the passes. Going up the hill by the Sego Lily pavillion, a girl in front of me kept looking back at me and cutting in front of me, honestly can't she realize that I'm just passing her? Anyways, I was pushing really hard, and in the last 800, I planned a speed change then a kick when I got closer, but then I felt really sick, so I only sped up a bit. I still passed a bunch of people though. When we got to the Highland field, I just thought "What the heck, proudly puke, victorious vomiting, triumphant throwing up, GO!" So I outkicked people. When I passed my goal girl, I heard someone creeping up on me, so I booked it in, and since my time was a 20:46.6, hers was a 20:46.7. It kindof reminds me how last year I finished .3 seconds behind one of my awesome senior teammates, Kelsie. Anyways, it was a pretty good day. In the chute, I thought I was going to die. I started coughing and nearly puked, then I couldn't breath. When I caught my breath, I bent over again and had to puke, but I just coughed again, and I couldn't breath. That cycle repeated 5 times, when the nice Logan girl in front of me supported me. I would really like to thank her, it felt good to know that someone I had never met before was so kind. People are so nice in the chute, because we're all recovering from our race. I'm very upset though that I didn't get in the top 30, but at least I got 50th overall. In the hypothetical meet results that were on athletic.net I would've gotten 77th overall, but I thought there was no way. As a team, we got 8th place. I feel that I could've done so much better... For a cool down I went around with Suzette. We talked with my awesome cousin from Davis for a bit, then we went to cheer on Ben and Scott. I love having an XC sister and cousin, it's always fun!! :) Great job today East! We're awesome, run like you stole something and be a man!! :D

Today was just a nice easy run, since only 10 people knew that there was practice today. I ran with Natalie and Susannah the whole way, we went up Sunnyside Avenue to Gardsmin Way, across to 500 south and down to the cemetary. We ran 2 big laps around the cemetary, we saw alot of deer and were reminded of the time our distance guys didn't have a coach for a day so they chased deer. After the 2 laps, we ran down to 1300 east and along 1300 east to 800 south. I hate uphill, but it was the last stretch of the run, so we went back up to the stadium. When we entered the gate, Natalie, Susannah, and I ran 1 lap in lane 8 to get an exact mileage of 4 today. It felt nice and easy, I do enjoy these days. I'm so excited for USATF and Footlocker!!

Anyhoo, we ran down to Liberty park and did 2 laps of fartleks, or in other words, 10 one minute offs and ons. I ran with Maggie and Caden for the first lap, then just Maggie for the second. Then we ran back up to the stadium. Oh hill on 9th south, why do you exist? Yeah, it was a pretty good run. :) and snowball fight!

Today Susannah and I just went for a run. She wanted to go running in costumes, but I thought that would be strange. I wanted to do my stalker run, so we started at our house and went over to pass the following houses(in this order) Whitneys, Michelles, ZoBells, Nelsons, Stephies, Hoopers, Murdrows, Scottys, Elizas, Jolleys, Patricks, Mckensies, Delaneys, Natalies, and Blakes. When I was passing Mckensies, I also saw Natalies sister! Today was a great run. Scotty saw us, and since I told him last night that I totally dyed my hair platinum blonde, I'm pretty sure he doesn't believe me. When Susannah and I got to 17th and 17th, she went up and I went down. After I passed Natalies house, I ran into Susannah again at 17th and Harrison! Craziness.

Today we went on adventure run. Yes, the adventure run that Susannah, Natalie, Amanda, Suzette and I invented. Where we go up Sunnyside, across Guardsmin, up to Legacy Bridge, and to Red Butte Shoreline trail. We went on the JCC trail, and Bill told us girl who invented the run that we were going the wrong way. If an author writes a book, someone who reads it can't say "This is wrong, this happens instead." Seriously guys. So Susannah, Natalie, Amanda and I today were the only ones who went the proper way. When we got off the first part of the JCC, Bill had caught up. I love going down 11th avenue while doing the old lady powerwalk because it's just so steep! :) As we did the first time, we ran on 11th ave out to the fire station and back to the Shriners drinking fountain. Then we went back to the stadium our regular way. Dakota told us we were cheaters and that we had been cutting through places during our run, but we're just going the same way we had before, so Dakota's the real cheater. Taylor and Scott were also pretty annoying about it. If people don't like our run, then they don't have to do it, it only bugs us when people tell us we're going the wrong way. Psh, as if.

I should probably stop eating crap because it doesn't help my cold or my mood...but for some reason I feel faster. Maybe I run faster when I'm in a bad mood? Nevermind. Today was speed. We started with 1 mile warm up and 1 mile speed changes. I started a few seconds after everybody else, and somehow I caught up to Natalie and Susannah, and I never got lapped. Wierd. Anyways, we did 1 mile fast, and I hit a 6:31. My tummy was making the rumblys (that only hands could satisfy...llamas with hats) We ran 2 laps recovery and moved on to do 10 200s, or 10 laps of jogging 200 running 200. Bill told me not to go all out on them, just to keep an open stride. After the 4th 200, I couldn't take it anymore. According to Ethan I threw up...I do not remember that at all, and there is no evidence, so it never happend. Anyhoo, I did 1 lap around the perimiter of the stadium, and on my second one Delaney joined me. While going up the hill by the soccer field, I saw a snake. Delaney thought it was a stick so she tried to step on it. I'm pretty sure the whole XC team and Football team heard my scream and saw me panic. I've never been so scared of snakes, seeing as I have a pet corn snake by my bed. Anyways, we went down the hill, me still panicking. We went straight to the car and waited for everyone to finish. Today was an awful attitude day for me, great running day.

These girls are so nice! I really needed a POTTY break, but the bathrooms were locked! When someone told me there were portapotties, I booked it to them. Then I ran a warm up with Natalie, and for a bit of it we ran with Summer and one of the twins. At the start, we were considering just running it barefoot, but if someone with spikes stepped on us, it would hurt. (No way Sherlock!) Anyhoo, that course sucked. At the start when we ran through the sand, I screamed because it was so stupid. At one part, Susannah told me to Be a Man, so I showed off my buffness, and Bill told me to focus. Pinkys out. The coarse was so stupid, there was too much zig zagging up and down hills, which really slowed me down. I'm sure I wasn't the only one, because lot's of people didn't like their times. Good job Sojourners! I didn't run a cool down. I don't even know my time, so I posted 22 minutes flat, even though I'm sure it was slower than that.

When we arrived, hardly anyone was there. We went for a 2 mile warm up so Susannah could let me familiarize with the sharp turns and confusing places. It took forever for the people to start the race, we were lined up for at least 15-20 minutes. Susannah and I got so many strides in. When the race finally started, it felt like I was going too fast because it was downhill. Once we got around the first sharp turn, it got better and wider. On the beginning of the first parkway, there were some men riding horses, I was scared that that the horses would freak out at all the runners, but luckily the riders held onto them. At the end of the long stretch of street after the first parkway, it was confusing because I didn't see any direction signs. Luckily the 2 men I was running with at the time pointed it out. At the grass dip, I did a quick headcheck to see where the 2 other girls were in my age division. They were behind me the whole race by about 100 meters, and I was scared they would catch me. I think it's strange how you have to cross the old train tracks and go down a small rock hill in the race, it's seriously a death trap for me. On that parkway, I managed to get ahead of the 2 men, but a woman passed me, I tried to keep up but I was wearing down. I thought "Why is my tummy hurting? Oh...I ate nothing but cookies and whole milk for dinner last night. Why am I sore? Oh yeah, I was playing rugby." I was about 15 feet behind the woman that passed me for the rest of the race, crossing the train tracks again and running through the leafy trail. I actually liked this coarse alot, it was relatively flat, but it was too long. Oh well, I was the 3rd girl, 1st in my age group, so I won a turkey and a trophy. When they were taking the group picture of the 1st and 2nd for each age group, Susannah and I were making faces and flexing our arms. Then we heard the word "Newspaper." oh shoot. :) Oh well, it was a great day, I'm still a little upset Mom didn't bring her camera, because Susannah and I were mirror images with our turkeys and trophies! :)

We did 10 strides and 2 laps around the field at the back of the school. For the first few miles of the run, I ran with Susannah, Natalie and Bill. It felt great until I started to slow. For the timed mile, Caden, Ethan, and I were supposed to hit between 6:20 or 6:30, otherwise we would suffer the consequences. I hit a 6:27, and everyone else hit their time assignments, so we only had 3 400s. We did 2 laps recovery from the mile, then did our 400s, the first two with a lap recovery each, and after the third 400, we did 1 big loop around the stadium and ran back down to the school. My fingers were blue!! Thanks Delaney for letting me wear your jacket! After workout I raided the ZoBells fridge.

Today was Footlocker!! I got a pretty good start, Delaney, Maggie, Sarah, Stephie, and I started in a good spot so we wouldn't get boxed in. I got a great start, I went wide on the first lap of the corral to avoid getting boxed in, and I ran in about the middle of the road around it for the second loop. I stayed strong on the switchbacks; I didn't sprint up and I didn't jog so slow. At the top of the switchbacks I threw in a speed change, catching several people who had been weakened by the switchbacks. On the next downhill, I let myself go, watching my step and picking targets: AKA girls in neon. When I got to poop out hill, I looked up and used my arms. I passed a few people who went slow up the hill, when a coach at the side pointed to the 2 girls in front of me, "You're number 45 and 46, go!" I knew that top 48 get medals, so I used that next downhill as a trigger. I ran through a bush hanging over the fence, but it didn't slow me down at all. On the flat-ish part of that part of the coarse, I threw in a really long speed change until I got to the final hill. I pushed up it pretty hard, knowing that I would have an immediate downhill to propel me to the finish. I passed several people, and sprinted down the hill. At the turn, I knew the rest of the coarse was flat, so I went really fast. I passed everybody I had been running with at the point, and in the last 20 meters got outkicked for a final place from 32. I was the first from east in the Frosh/Soph, so that's what division I counted. I ran around cheering for a cooldown, and spent the rest of the night walking around Disneyland, but no waiting in lines because we had the ultimate fast pass. :)

Today, Bill drove Susannah, Dakota, and I out to the Olympic Oval for speed. We did 8 laps warm up and 4 laps speed changes around the track and changed shoes. We did 8 400s, each with a lap of recovery. I averaged around 1:30s, my slowest being a 1:36 and my fastest a 1:27. After the recovery lap on the last 400, we did 2 laps cool down and headed out. Next time I need to remember to eat before workout, because I was hungry!!

USATF Nationals today. I got there in time for a 5 minute warm up plus strides, so it made me run terribly. The course was kindof loose rocks and gravel everywhere. On the plus side, I got a PR on my 2 mile, a 13:23! :) But otherwise my time was awful. At a part in the race, I was passing someone, she clearly looked at me, and cut right in front of me. I tried to do my old fashioned tripping trick, but the official was watching and I didn't want to risk getting disqualified. After the race, I went and ran a mile around the pond with Bill, then we did team 'mafia' shots with our Sojourners black coats. :)

I just went and ran 2 miles with Sarah today, since we were both feeling a little bleh. We ran from her house to Sugarhouse park, did a lap on the road, and went back to her house. Then we layed on her carpet forever. :)

So I should have about 5 more miles... But I was way too sick. We ran up to the track, did some track drills while making sound effects, and went to our distance workout. We did Tony's dumb workout first, 8 little hills. After that, we did a grass loop around the stadium and ran up Sunnyside ave. The original plan was to do our Sunnyside and Foothill loop, but when I got to Guardsmin, everybody was ahead and made the light. I got stuck there, and felt really sick. So I ran all the way back to the school and waited for them to return.

Today we went to Fairmont, 10 strides, Liberty, 1 lap on the woodchips, and back to the school. I felt okay at the beginning, but when we were almost to the park, I felt really sick again. I slowed down by alot, and eventually found Fairmont, even though I didn't get lost, I just had lucky guesses. After our 10 strides, we ran to Liberty. Again, I fell way behind the group. They didn't have to wait for me, but they did. After grabbing a quick drink, we did a lap. Of course I fell behind again. When I got back to the school, Susannah was waiting outside for me. We went to the weight room and did some stretches, squats, and lunges. Finally we were done! But I really don't like it when I get sick like this...

So after doing a bunch of core stuff that included circuits and carrying weights from A floor to D floor and all sorts of stuff, we ran along 13th east to President's Circle, up to the U Bookstore, along Guardsmin, and down 9th south to the school. Last night I had been assembling my running stuff in the dark, so I was a bit shocked to see I had brought my flats and not trainers...

That was awful. We met up at the Oval, and I was so excited to see the Kearns team!! Anyways, the workout was terrible. 8 mile tempo run = 30 laps on the Oval track. Grrr. I did it in 68 minutes, and I was pretty ticked off the whole time, until I was on lap 30.

Went running with Natalie, Amanda, RJ, Taylor, and Gavin today. We started as a group, but I felt everybody else was going too fast, and soon I had a side ache that felt like someone was using me as a pin cushion, it hurt so bad! Anyways. We started at ZoBell's, ran along 15th east to 21st south, and down to Toys R us. Gavin wanted to go shopping. We ran around Sugarhouse Plaza a bit, passing by Deseret Book, Zurchers, Payless, and Shopko. We were following the FedEx truck! We followed it for a little while, and we went along 9th east until we got to John's work. We decided to see if he was there, but he had gone home for lunch break. Sad day! So we ran up Kensington up to 13th east, over to Sherman, and up to 15th east. Then we ran home, aka ZoBell's, for coffee cake and corn bread!!!

We went to the Oval today for speed. We started with 4 laps warm up and went to stretch. After stretching, we did another 4 laps of warm up and 4 laps of speed changes. I kept up with Susannah, Natalie, and Bill all 12 laps. After speed changes, we changed our shoes to do 5 sets of 1000, each with partial lap of recovery in between. I hit a 3:59, 4:04, 4:03, 4:13, and 4:00. They were tough! For the cool down, we did 9 laps around the track, Delaney joined me for part of it, and it wasn't so boring. :)

So we went to the Oval again today. I'm so glad the guys came, even though the workout was hard, it was really fun. We did 5 laps of warm up and went to stretch. After stretching, we did some core work, which involved 7 laps? Maybe 8. After step ups, we did flannigans circuits and went on a 5 mile run. At mile 3, I couldn't find anyone, I was lost in Kearns! So I saw the Oval and ran right back to it and waited.

So I got a Garmin for Christmas... :) I went on a run, I was breathing pretty hard though, my lungs don't like the cold, foggy air. I went up my street to 15th east, over to 9th south, up to Le Grand street, down to 18th east, over to Harrison Ave, down to 15th east, and home. I'll try to go running again with friends later today to get a few more miles, because 2.5 is not enough, even though it hurt. My foot was hurting again too. I think it was my spikes this time, every race I've raced in them since Pre Regions it feels like something along my arch is tearing... I should find out what's wrong.

Ow. Bleh. Grr. Ugh. That was my workout. I woke up really tired, feeling really sick. Susannah was mad at me and telling me I only had a few minutes to get ready, so I brought a pillow for the car and got an hour nap in. For workout, we did 4 laps warm up and went to stretch. After that, we did 4 laps warm up and 4 laps speed changes. Then we moved on to do 6 800s, each with a lap recovery between. I hated that, I was on the verge of tears, my stomach hurt and my foot pain was moving up to my knee. After the 4th 800, I dropped out. I changed my shoes and ran 6 laps with Delaney for a cool down. I'm going to go see the doctor tomorrow about that darn foot of mine...

Went to the doctor this morning. I have a swollen plantarfacia, so I need to take it easy until I get my arch support thingys. Later, I went running with Amanda, Gavin, RJ, and Taylor today. We started at home and ran up to Bonneville Elementary and up to the field. We went down one of the streets on about 20th east until we got to 17th east, then went and rang Nelson's doorbell. After getting rejected for juice, we entered the gulley on 9th south and ran to the exit by the Bonneville church. We ran over to Sunnyside Ave and came through Amanda Avenue to 9th south, past Nelson's again, and back home along 17th east. Muffin time!

Today we met up at the Highland marquee. We ran up Parley's road until we got to Evergreen Junior High, until we got to a random street. We went up and when the Garmins said 3 miles, which was our warm up. Then we went back the same way, we were supposed to be back at Highland within 22 minutes, that was the goal. I started too fast, with Natalie and Susannah. They left me in the slush, and then I was able to run with Amanda, but eventually I fell behind her too. When we got back, we ran on that route again, this time only 1 mile out and 1 mile back. My foot only hurt during the cool down. My stuff should be here on Tuesday so running will be less painful. :)

Note to self: Don't eat nachos 45 minutes prior to running. I went running with Natalie, RJ, and Taylor today. We started at ZoBell's and ran to Shriners along the route we usually take. We ran a bit on 11th ave to get up to an exact 3, then we turned around and came back. There's no way I'm doing a race tonight, it'll be about 9 degrees. Happy New Years Eve, everybody!
