Today we went on adventure run. Yes, the adventure run that Susannah, Natalie, Amanda, Suzette and I invented. Where we go up Sunnyside, across Guardsmin, up to Legacy Bridge, and to Red Butte Shoreline trail. We went on the JCC trail, and Bill told us girl who invented the run that we were going the wrong way. If an author writes a book, someone who reads it can't say "This is wrong, this happens instead." Seriously guys. So Susannah, Natalie, Amanda and I today were the only ones who went the proper way. When we got off the first part of the JCC, Bill had caught up. I love going down 11th avenue while doing the old lady powerwalk because it's just so steep! :) As we did the first time, we ran on 11th ave out to the fire station and back to the Shriners drinking fountain. Then we went back to the stadium our regular way. Dakota told us we were cheaters and that we had been cutting through places during our run, but we're just going the same way we had before, so Dakota's the real cheater. Taylor and Scott were also pretty annoying about it. If people don't like our run, then they don't have to do it, it only bugs us when people tell us we're going the wrong way. Psh, as if.

I should probably stop eating crap because it doesn't help my cold or my mood...but for some reason I feel faster. Maybe I run faster when I'm in a bad mood? Nevermind. Today was speed. We started with 1 mile warm up and 1 mile speed changes. I started a few seconds after everybody else, and somehow I caught up to Natalie and Susannah, and I never got lapped. Wierd. Anyways, we did 1 mile fast, and I hit a 6:31. My tummy was making the rumblys (that only hands could satisfy...llamas with hats) We ran 2 laps recovery and moved on to do 10 200s, or 10 laps of jogging 200 running 200. Bill told me not to go all out on them, just to keep an open stride. After the 4th 200, I couldn't take it anymore. According to Ethan I threw up...I do not remember that at all, and there is no evidence, so it never happend. Anyhoo, I did 1 lap around the perimiter of the stadium, and on my second one Delaney joined me. While going up the hill by the soccer field, I saw a snake. Delaney thought it was a stick so she tried to step on it. I'm pretty sure the whole XC team and Football team heard my scream and saw me panic. I've never been so scared of snakes, seeing as I have a pet corn snake by my bed. Anyways, we went down the hill, me still panicking. We went straight to the car and waited for everyone to finish. Today was an awful attitude day for me, great running day.

Today for a run we just went to the fire station on 11th ave our Shriners way and back. I ran with Becca for part of the run, and we met up with Scott and Nelson at the drinking fountain. They had an adventure... On the way back I ran alone, passing by Tomy just before I left 11th ave. The whole run was a good one, especially the way back. I like this run.

Today was simple. 1 mile warm up, 2 miles speed changes, 1 mile cool down. I ran with Natalie the whole workout, I'm glad she's there to pull me along. I'm so excited for USATF state on Saturday!!

Today was really nice, I went on a 3 mile day before race run with Amanda, Natalie, and Susannah around the neighborhood. We went from my house past the ZoBell's, past Nelson's, and past Scott'. When we were running from 19th down to 15th on Harrison, some of the Clayton Middle School kids started running with us, so we said that we would love to see them on our team next year. After the lovely run, we went and waited at the ZoBell's for food, and played some football. Muahahaha! I should have gotten better carbs, because I had a delicious Junior Cheeseburger at Crown Burger! :)

Today was the USATF State XC meet at Cottonwood Complex. First thing after Natalie and I got our uniforms and race packets was to meet our team, Summer, Rachel, Jordyn, and Angie. These girls are so nice! I really needed a POTTY break, but the bathrooms were locked! When someone told me there were portapotties, I booked it to them. Then I ran a warm up with Natalie, and for a bit of it we ran with Summer and one of the twins. At the start, we were considering just running it barefoot, but if someone with spikes stepped on us, it would hurt. (No way Sherlock!) Anyhoo, that course sucked. At the start when we ran through the sand, I screamed because it was so stupid. At one part, Susannah told me to Be a Man, so I showed off my buffness, and Bill told me to focus. Pinkys out. The coarse was so stupid, there was too much zig zagging up and down hills, which really slowed me down. I'm sure I wasn't the only one, because lot's of people didn't like their times. Good job Sojourners! I didn't run a cool down. I don't even know my time, so I posted 22 minutes flat, even though I'm sure it was slower than that.

Speed at Liberty. We ran down there, did 1 mile, 1 800, 1 mile, and 1 800, each with 800 recovery in between. Then we ran back up the hill. It was cold, but Gavin's rice krispies make me feel better, and I love playing football. :) ...erm watching.

Today was simple. 1 mile warm up, 1 mile speed changes, 1 timed mile (6:39), 1 mile speed changes, and 1 mile cool down. I stuck with Susannah and Natalie for the warm up and speed changes, and ran part of the timed mile and part of the cool down with Amanda. It was pretty good.

Today was light, we ran to the gulley, entered at the bottom, ran 2 and a half laps, exited the gulley at the top, ran down Sunnyside and did 2 grass loops in the stadium for a full 4 miles.

When we arrived, hardly anyone was there. We went for a 2 mile warm up so Susannah could let me familiarize with the sharp turns and confusing places. It took forever for the people to start the race, we were lined up for at least 15-20 minutes. Susannah and I got so many strides in. When the race finally started, it felt like I was going too fast because it was downhill. Once we got around the first sharp turn, it got better and wider. On the beginning of the first parkway, there were some men riding horses, I was scared that that the horses would freak out at all the runners, but luckily the riders held onto them. At the end of the long stretch of street after the first parkway, it was confusing because I didn't see any direction signs. Luckily the 2 men I was running with at the time pointed it out. At the grass dip, I did a quick headcheck to see where the 2 other girls were in my age division. They were behind me the whole race by about 100 meters, and I was scared they would catch me. I think it's strange how you have to cross the old train tracks and go down a small rock hill in the race, it's seriously a death trap for me. On that parkway, I managed to get ahead of the 2 men, but a woman passed me, I tried to keep up but I was wearing down. I thought "Why is my tummy hurting? Oh...I ate nothing but cookies and whole milk for dinner last night. Why am I sore? Oh yeah, I was playing rugby." I was about 15 feet behind the woman that passed me for the rest of the race, crossing the train tracks again and running through the leafy trail. I actually liked this coarse alot, it was relatively flat, but it was too long. Oh well, I was the 3rd girl, 1st in my age group, so I won a turkey and a trophy. When they were taking the group picture of the 1st and 2nd for each age group, Susannah and I were making faces and flexing our arms. Then we heard the word "Newspaper." oh shoot. :) Oh well, it was a great day, I'm still a little upset Mom didn't bring her camera, because Susannah and I were mirror images with our turkeys and trophies! :)

Stayed up too late last night, and I had the pre ACT in the morning. I napped on and off through school, since we really didn't do much. Afterwards, we did a 9 mile run. Now we meet in the commons, so we ran along 13th to Sugarhouse, did a full lap around the grass perimiter, did another almost full lap but went up to 19th east on 21st south, over to 8th south, down to 14th east, and down 9th south to the teacher parking lot. We did 10 strides and 2 laps around the field at the back of the school. For the first few miles of the run, I ran with Susannah, Natalie and Bill. It felt great until I started to slow. I don't know why I always start with them for a few miles and die down, but I have noticed that it's becoming easier to stay with them longer. :) Vacation Vacation we're going on Vacation we'll go north we'll go south we'll go on Vacation! We are excited to go to Phoenix this weekend, we don't have to go to a full week of school for a month, weekends off!

Took a nice nap in AP World today, I wasn't the only one either. For our workout today, we ran from the commons to the stadium for speed. 1 mile warm up, 1 mile speed changes, 1 timed mile. For the timed mile, Caden, Ethan, and I were supposed to hit between 6:20 or 6:30, otherwise we would suffer the consequences. I hit a 6:27, and everyone else hit their time assignments, so we only had 3 400s. We did 2 laps recovery from the mile, then did our 400s, the first two with a lap recovery each, and after the third 400, we did 1 big loop around the stadium and ran back down to the school. My fingers were blue!! Thanks Delaney for letting me wear your jacket! After workout I raided the ZoBells fridge.

Today we did the Modified False Adventure Run.The original means that you went the right way, gosh Bill. Anyways, I ran at a pretty good pace with Dakota the whole way, and all he talked about was a learners permit, so fellow runners, do not run on the trails or sidewalks. Anyways, it was pretty cold yesterday, and the whole time I had the gloomy feeling "First Track Meeting tomorrow...Hampster time.........." I hate track!!!!!!!!!!

Got enough sleep last night to last me through the school day, so no naps there. At 1:45 today we were excused from class for team pictures at 2:00. After the pictures, there was still half hour left of school, but since nobody wanted to go to class, we went on our 4 mile run so we could get it done before the track meeting. We ran along 13th east to 4th south and did 2 big laps in the cemetery and came back the same way along 13th east, then did 2 and a half laps around the softball field before going into our track meeting. I HATE TRACK.

Spent 12 hours in a car with Mom, Susannah, Amanda, and Natalie. We got to Phoenix safely, and got in a 2 mile run before it got too dark. We just ran from our hotel on 17 Scottsdale road, 1 mile out (past Princess Blvd, and alot of car dealerships like Porsche, Audi, other awesome stuff...etc) And 1 mile back.

Well our car was dead this morning, and we had to get from Scottsdale to Phoenix, so we waited 3 hours for Bill to come jump the car. We finally got it running, and when we got to the race, Natalie and I had a good 15 minutes to get 1.5 mile of warm up in...we ran in our spikes due to lack of time When the race started, it was dusty. Either make dust or eat dust, I chose make it. Throughout the race, I passed plenty of people, and nobody ever passed me :) It was nice to have the big waterslides by the finish, because in the desert wherever I was drowning in my sweat, I could always see the rainbow slides. :) Our Sojourners team won by 1 point, we're so happy! Good job Natalie, Summer, Jordyn, and Rachel! After all the awards and stuff, Bill wanted to measure the coarse, so he took Susannah, Amanda, Natalie, Bre, and I on a cool down along the coarse. It was actually 3.09. Well, I would love to blog longer, but we just made it to Vegas and want to go swimming. It was a great day!

Today we did speed at Liberty. We ran from the teacher parking lot down there and met at the drinking fountain, and the 11 of us did 1 lap of firemen. After that lap, we did an 800. My time was 3:22. We did an 800 recovery then ran another 800. This one was a 3:24. After that we ran back up to the school and did some extra to bring it to an exact 6 miles.

Well all after school activities and team practices and basketball games were canceled, so Susannah, Natalie, and I just went on a 4 mile run. We ran from Natalie's down to 16th east, up to 17th and 17th, past Delaney's house, then Kensie's house, then Patty's house. Then we decided we wanted to run into Gavin, so we ran along 19th east, took a small up along Ken Rey, back down to 19th, and through the crowd of middle school children. Some were running with us, we're excited to recruit those silly children. When we got to 17th east, we made a right and went to Nelson's house. We turned around at his house and went back to Natalie's, but we hit an exact 4 miles a little before, so we hopped across the crosswalk and walked to Natalie's house. It was cold outside, but we're glad we beat the blizzard.

Too cold outside to go running. I went to Steiner with my family and I did 2 miles on a bike. I could have done more, but I didn't have a fan and it was hot. It just irritated me and made me sore. Although later I did do some hills... in sledding:)

Today I went on my own run. I wanted to do some light hill work before Footlocker, which is in 7 days. I started at my house and ran over to Harrison Ave along 14th east. I ran up there, pushing hard to 16th east. I ran along there until Bryan Ave, then turned around and went down Harrison to 15th east. I ran over to Harvard Ave, then ran up .06 four times. Then I ran up to 17th east and over to the hill by 9th south, booking it up that hill. I turned around and ran along 17th east to 13th south, then down to 15th east. I ran until I got to my street and ran on home. I felt great, but my lungs hurt because of the cold. I hope to do well at Footlocker, my goal is 20 minutes.

I went from my house to 15th east, over to 9th south, up to 20th east, over to Ramona Ave, down to 17th east, over to 17th south, down to 16th east, up Emerson to 17th east, over to Harrison, down to 15th east, over to 17th south, and home along 14th east. It's confusing, but it worked for me.

We started at the school as usual. We ran along 13th east until 21st south, went down to 9th east, over to 13th south, and down to the drinking fountain on the southeast corner of Liberty Park. At that point, Dakota, Caden, and Patrick had caught up to me, and we ran a lap in the snow at Liberty, before heading up 9th south back to the school. I pushed up the hill harder than I had ever gone up it before, it felt great. When I got to the school, I ran around the school once for a full 6. It was pretty cold, but I'm glad I did it. We leave for Footlocker on Thursday!!!!
