| I introduced my self to my fast twitch muscles last night at the Dixie high school track. Did 10 x 220. I Ran almost full speed for 220 then slow jogged 220. I did not have a watch so I could not guess on how fast I was doing them. Ran about 2 mile warm up and two mile cool down. Felt good to do a little speed work. I had trouble getting out of bed this morning only got in 3. Glad I went out. My left foot arch is sore. Will need to ice it down. |

| Ran the half Marathon last Saturday. Here are my splits 1. 5.30, 2. 11.16, 5.52 3. 18.30, 7.13 4. 24.41, 6.11 5 31.34, 6.53 6. 38.40, 7.05 7. 46.08 7.27 8. 53.21, 7.13 9. 59.01, 5.39 10. 106.01, 7.00 11. 112.44, 6.42 12 120.24. 7.40 13. 128.19 7.54 After the run I could hardly walk. Went home and iced the arch all day Sunday. My foot is still swollen. I scheduled a doctor’s appointment Wednesday with a foot specialist. The first mile was a little short per the race director. Last mile was a little long. I felt like I could of pushed it harder, but my foot was giving me all types of problems. Ended up getting $30 gift certificate. 1st in my division 2an in masters division 13th over all. |

| I went and visited the doctor regarding my foot. As I arrived the receptionist simply said might I have your insurance card and fill out this book. No hello! What do you want? After all the paper work the nurse escorted me back to the room. Took the usual vitals and left me stranded in the office looking at the walls. A few minutes later the X ray tech came in. she escorted me and took X rays. After she was done, I asked her why I did not need to ware one of those heavy jackets. Her reply was oops! Now back at the room looking at the walls, the doctor comes in, and tells me it looks like a stress fracture of the middle Meta carpel. And that I would have to ware this boot cast for 5 weeks. I gasped and said in denial, can I run in that? He paused and smiled, then replied, sure. My daughter and your money will be going to BYU in the fall. |
