Yesterday I planned on running the New Years run but then we had people at my house and we went and saw the lights at Temple Square so my mom wouldn't let me. So Today I just ran on the treadmill because we had family at my house again.. I am going to need to do 2 a days for the rest of the week to get the mileage.

This morning I ran on the treadmill for 36 minutes. The treadmill didn't do distance it just did time so I ran for a little longer than I normally would for 4 miles to make sure I got the mileage. My heel has been hurting since Christmas... It is incredibly weird! I will run again tonight.

PM: I ran down to SHP but right when I got to the park I had to go potty really really bad so I ran back up to Dunkin Donuts. I ran back down to the park to meet up with Larry but he didn't come. I got about 1.5 miles warm up. Then I did 4 strides. 12 strides around the park then ran the rest of the park as a cooldown. Then I ran around the park 1.5 more times to get to 6 miles. A fun and SCARY RUN! I saw an ALIEN!!!! JK It was just immature High School kids with intense laser pointers that they were on top of the hill pointing the laser pointer at me. 7:14 Average.

Today is the last day of winter break:( Spring semester starts tomorrow! ahhh!!! But I ran the shriners run from the East track. I started at about 5 and really wanted to get done before it was dark. averaged 8:15ish going out to Shriners then I brought the average pace down to 7:52. My fastest run since I took that time off!:) I am coming back! Three good things came out of this run: 1) I finished before it was dark.... I averaged sub 7 minute pace coming back, 2) The drinking fountain was on! 3) It made me excited for the spring semester! As I was running through campus I saw a ton of people who had moved into the dorms today or yesterday just walking through campus, having fun, finding classes, making college look like fun! 7:52 average.

I didn't get a run in today because when I got home I did my homework then I had to plan my classes and all of the necessities for Medical School. When I looked at the clock it was 10:00 PM! Medical School is going to take A TON of time!

This run felt a LOT better than last night! I was inspired to listen to Let It Go from Frozen from Emily and it really does get you pumped! When I saw that movie (1 of 3 times I have seen it) I absolutely loved it! This song really got me pumped while running on the treadmill at the fieldhouse. I did 6 in the early afternoon. Then before I went and hung out with Giulia, I did a few more miles to finish on even mileage.

My endurance and fitness is coming back! I went over to the Fieldhouse before I read for History and do my Medical School stuff. I ran 5 on the treadmill while wathcing Blades of Glory on the TV. I love that movie! I felt totally fine for the first 4 miles, like I hadn't been running. Sure I started at 7MPH so about 8:30 pace but then I finished at 7:40 miles for the last 2. My speed and endurance are coming back!

Man I am stiff from the pliometrics in P90X yesterday.... I did a half mile warm up at Sugarhouse, then 3 strides. Then I did 4 strides going around the park then came back the 4 light poles. AM: in P90X we did a mile, well actually we ran 3 laps around the gym after every interval and we did that 5 times.

PM: Mile warm up, then mile of speedchanges around the park. Then ran a lap of 2x1 lightpoles then cooled down until 9 miles. I was exhausted. I am not sure why I am slacking off this week, I havn't been studying just doing my normal homeowrk.... WEIRD. No homework today! I took a break from homework and decided to just watch the olympics, get my Valentines ready for my 4th and 2nd graders tomorow and Run. I did a mile warm up, strides which got me to 1.5. Then a lap of 2x1 lightpoles. Then another lap then my mom came and got me because it started hailing and pouring rain on me so I finished  the last 3 miles on the treadmill. I am getting back in shape slowly.

As I was driving around SHP I saw Sarah Sargent so I ran a 2 mile warm up with her catching up and stuff. That was awesome to catch up with her again! Then I broke off, did my 8 strides, and stretched and started the workout. It was 5x400 around the park. Easy workout, glad it is over though. Then I ran a short cooldown because I had a Valentines reservation in 20 minutes!!!

I have had this cough now for a week and it sucks..... I ran down to sugarhouse park and did a lap around. Then I did a lap of 1x1 lightpoles but everytime I sped up I had to cough really bad and I couldn't breathe. By the time I finished that lap I had my mom pick me up and I just came home and biked and took it easy. Hopefully I am feeling better tomorrow. Being sick SUCKS!

That was really hard! I went to SHP and did a mile of the state course warm up and I could hardly breathe. I started really coughing hard and getting all mucuousy while running. Then I did a little over a mile cooldown. i dont think I will hit my mileage for the week. :( I hate being sick!

Drove over to the East High track to do a light workout. I did a mile warm up then 4 strides. The workout was 2x200, 400, 2x200. My times went 37, 37, 79, 36, 35. I hit my times exactly for each rep. This is the first track workout since October so I think I did pretty well.. Then I stretched and did a lap then did 3x1 minute wall sits and then finished out till 4 miles cooldown. My legs were so dead during that cooldown because of the wall sits! Now I am watching the Tania Harding and Nancy Kerrigan drama on the Olympics..... That is so intense!

PM: This afternoon after math I went over to the fieldhouse to run a little bit before I head up to Provo! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABIGAIL! I did 2.5 on the treadmill then I went up stairs and ran the rest on the track going the opposite direction then I stretched. I saw so many people at the fieldhouse today from East! Ian Pradhan, Mat Sperry, and Milan....... Really weird to see them! Especially Milan who still goes to East! I have seen him on campus twice in two weeks!

By the end I was coughing hard core, coughing crap up and barely could breathe.... I was pulled out. Did a run instead of the speed. Three miles on the treadmill while watching Yu Gi Oh! I LOVE YU GI OH! BEST SHOW EVER!!! On the running side though, as soon as I got on the treadmill after about a mile, my breathing got constantly worse and kept coughing stuff up and it kept blocking my airway. What happened yesterday happened today but at a more severe level. I am so sick of this! My doctor called with the results from yesterday, (they couldn't do the tests while I was there because the power was off at the Doctors office... AWKWARD!) but they said I have bronchitis so they gave me an antibiotic that will hopefully get rid of this stupid illness! Any suggestions on getting a good run in with this cough without coughing up a lung? Now it is time to watch the new Grey's Anatomy! FINALLY!

Went to the East High Track to do a workout. I did the VA loop and came back on Guardsman. I was planning on going down to 1300 East but either my garmin is starting to not work anymore or my pace sucked! It said I was going a 9:38 pace on the downhill and a 6:50 pace going up the hill on sunnyside..... I don't think I was going either of those paces...  Anyway,  I got back to the track and stretched then ran a grass loop then did a backwards mile on the track. I was tired...... Sad day.. My final average pace was 8:08... so maybe.

SPRING BREAK: DAY 1

For Spring Break today I watched Catching Fire, Sprited Away, Howles Moving Castle and hung outside ALL DAY! I LOVE SPRING BREAK IN MARCH! Today I ran the State XC course then ran laps at sugarhouse. As soon as I finished running Highland got out of school and it was a mob of high schoolers.... I remember those days. NOT FUN! I forgot how hard it was to weave your way through a mob of high schoolers. Then I came home and did my core and planks.

SPRING BREAK: DAY 2

For Spring Break today I went over to Abigails and we played board games with her BF all afternoon. For my run, I ran in the morning and just went along 19th east at about 8 AM... NEVER AGAIN! I forgot that the elementary schools and Clayton Middle School start around there so I was weaving in between kids and parents driving and walking to school... I went into sunnyside park did a half lap then came back the same way... I didn't run tonight because after I was at Abigails I went out to dinner with my family then I came home and had to write a US History essay due at midnight. I will catch up later in the week because after all it is Spring Break.

Spring Break: Day 3

Today was the weirdest run ever... I went down to SHP with my sister. When we got there I saw Stormy running so I ran a lap with her talking about everything! Then I did a few strides and stretfched. Did a lap of 2x1 lightpoles then I did a 3 mile cooldown and as I was running by the pond I saw a guy just peeing next to his friends car... DUDE ITS A PUBLIC PARK WITH KIDS! DONT PEE IN PUBLIC! That was freaking gross!

Started on E street and ran up to 11th avenue, then ran along 11th avenue until Virginia street and ran down Virginia street till south temple then took south temple till "I" street where my dad picked me up. Averaged 8:06 for the ran. The last 2-2.5 miles I was averaging 6:56 pace so that was good. I was diagnosed with asthma..... So I got my inhaler yesterday so today I was allowed to start running again... I had to stop at the top of E street on 11th avenue because my chest hurt way bad but I didn't cough so that is a good thing I gues....

Today I finally took my last midterm so I can start running again! Working, School full time, student government, and running at the same time is really hard to do! I went over to Cottonwood Complex to run the regions course then do 800's on it but then my dad reminded me I have student government at 5 and it was 4:15.... So I managed 2 miles then had to go home and shower then do our service project at the Ronald McDonald house. If we weren't doing a service project this evening I wouldn't have gone to Student Government and I would have ran instead.

AM: Did a mile around the gym at P90X for a warm up before we stretched for the time. I guess today was a recovery day?

Ran down to Sugarhouse Park and did a half mile there to get a mile and a half warm up, then I met up with Larry and did 8x150 meter strides. Then I ran a mile on the track with Larry which got me to 4 miles then it started hailing and pouring rain and it was freezing so my mom made me go home so I did 40 minutes on the elliptical and counted it as 2 miles. 7:05 average for the running. Now we watch Fast and Furious: Tokeo Drift !!!!

Today was awesome! It was the first day I got to actually do an actual run. I drove down to SHP and did a road lap, then an outside lap, then another road lap. Then out a halfmile and back. I stopped to stretch at 4.5 miles because my knee and quad was starting to hurt but after I stretched that went away. I am really happy about this run! Kind of slow but it was effective! 7:54 average.

Then I stretched and did a lap of 2x1 light poles on and off. Then I did a big grass lap cooldown and ran to the bathroom and back to the car and called it a night.

This morning I met up with Taylor to run. It was awesome running again with him! It felt just like old times! We met at the East track and did the shriners run. I took my inhaler before the run but I still started coughing really hard going up the hill and starting gagging. This asthma is getting super old! When we got to the drinking fountain we stretched and got a drink then decided to go on until 3 then turn around. We stopped at the drinking fountain at 3 miles but it was OFF! Then we stretched and went back the same way. We stopped at the drinking fountain again. It was a nice slow and easy run (except for the asthma attack going up the big hill on Alta street.) When we got back to the track we did a mile on the track swapping directions at a half mile. This was an awesome run! 8:18 average.

While driving to Student Government today I was Eleanor and Sarah so I had to stop and talk to them for a few minutes! That was awesome! They looked great! Anyway, after Student Government, it stopped raining and snowing outside so I took advantage of it and went for a run. My Garmin broke so I had to try this new Timex Ironman Triathlon one I got for graduation. I couldn't figure how to turn on the GPS so my whole warm up it was just timing me. I ran down to SHP and did my normal 1.5 mile warm up then I tried to figure out how to turn on the GPS... I should probably read the instructions first, but I did figure it out! I did 8 strides going around the park with 10 second recovery then I did an 800 back and i did that twice. By this time it was pouring rain and snowing at the same time so my mom pulled me out because I cant get sick right before finals and Colorado. I should've just gone to the treadmill so I could've gotten my full 8 for today. Oh well.... :( More running for tomorrow! :) I came home took a nice long hot shower and watched 2 Fast 2 Furious!

Day 2 of IRONMAN TIMEX GPS watch: Ran down to SHP and did a half mile there. Did a ladder around the park of 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1 with 1 lightpole recovery. I ran this to see how my breathing would do and I only coughed on the first 1 light pole! That is exciting!! I then met up with Levi who was just running around the park adn I did a lap around the park with him then I ran home. Cooldown was 6:56 pace because we just kept talking and didnt notice the pace.

Day 3 of IRONMAN TIMEX watch: Today sucked. I wanted to get 8 miles in but I started late and had to be done by 6:15 because the community service board at the U was going down to the YWCA at 7 to volunteer with the kids there. I ran down to SHP and did a lap in the park to get 2.5 miles warm up, then I did 8x200 with Larry then I did 2x400 and had to go. I wanted to run 4 miles on the treadmill when I got home but I had to eat dinner and my legs were exhausted from not cooling down.... I will try to fit in 4 miles tomorrow between work, school, training, ASUU, and the Grand Kerfuffle.... Busy busy day tomorrowl.

At noon I ran down to SHP and did my workout that I couldn't do yesterday and am doing it super early because I have an awards dinner tonight. I did a 1.5 mile warmup then went onto HHS track but realized they are in school and the PE class was on the track so I couldn't run on it so I decided to do the workout in the park on the flat part where it curves to 'modify' 200's. The workout was 8x200's and after each 200 I would do a 100 meter stride so I just stayed on 3 light poles, running out 2 for the 200 (I measured the distance with my Timex so I started a little before the pole and ended a little after the second pole) Then I waited 20 seconds and ran 100 meters back and did that 8 times. My times averaged 38-41 depending on how many people I had to dodge. SHP is crowded during the day! Then I did a 2.5 mile cooldown around the park and am now studying for my math test.... I DONT UNDERSTAND MY MATH! AND I HAVE OUR LAST MIDTERM THIS FRIDAY!!! AHHH

Today in P90X we actually had a tough workout! We started with a warm up of jump roping 50 times, 40 jumping jacks, 30 squats, running 2 laps around the gym and 10 push ups. We did that 3 times. Then the workout was Steps ups, squat jumps with weights, crunches, running 3 laps, burpees. We did a ladder of 21, 15, 9, 6, 3. Without any recovery just going onto the next set. For example, we did 21 step ups, 21 jump squats, 21 crunches, 3 laps of running, 21 burpees, then we did 15 of each, then 9, then 6, and ending with 3. I was exhausted after. It took me 18:15 to finish and I finished first but there was this dude that didn't do the last burpees so he could finish with out getting lapped by me 3 tines.. That was irritating. It was a good workout that got me super sweaty, we finished late because I stretched after so I didn't have time to shower before class so I just changed... It was gross. I didn't have time to run tonight because we had to pick my aunt up from the airport and I didn't get home until 6 and I still had to study, take a US History quiz, and do my LEAP essay.... busy busy day.

Mile and a half warm up down to SHP and stretched. Got a mile of J's in then I had to run to the potty. Came back and did 6 laps of run a hard 200 then recover on a 200 so it was basically 6x200's with 200 recovery with out stopping. I ran the first 5 at 40 pace then the last one at 37. Keeping my pace at 80's for a while until after finals because I need energy to stay up ALL NIGHT to study! Then I ran an 800 with Larry for a cooldown and he hit 3:42 then I finished out the mile.

Had my dad drive me to SHP and I did a mile warm up there this morning, then I met up with Larry and did a speed workout. The workout was 200 to get the feel for the pace then 4x400 then a closing 200. My times went 38, 77, 78, 80, 78, 33. My pace was supposed to be 75-80 so I was in my window. This was a really good workout for me, I really liked it and I feel that I accomplished what I needed to. We had 1 minute recovery. Then I saw the HHS track team so I ran with Kai for a cooldown until I hit 5 miles. It was about a mile and a quarter around the HHS track. Great catching up with him.

Met up with Scott this morning planning on running at SHP but totally forgot it was the marathon so he drove us up to foothill and we ran an out and back on foothill. It actually was a really good run, we ran a mile and a half out, stretched and talked about what we are going to do over the summer and got our summer bucket list started and then we ran back. It was rolling hills which is really nice. Averaged 7:30, oops. I had to hurry home and go to Tooele for the rest of the day so I didn't get my mileage:(

Mile and a half warm up down to SHP then stretched. Levi and Larry came and we did another half mile warm up then a half mile of strides and a 400. Stretched and walked over to the starting line and we did a timed mile in the park. I always like doing timed miles in the park because you get hills, grass, road and you get to be dodging people. Larry started 2 minutes ahead of Levi and I. Levi and I ran 5:47 and we passed Larry about 150 meters away from the finish. Then I did a cooldown of 4 miles to get to 8.

Ran down to SHP and did a 2.5 mile warm up. Did a half mile with Larry then we did 8x100 meter strides. Then we went onto the back paved trail in the park and ran 2x2 minutes and we saw how far we could get in 2 minutes, then we ran back up to the start and did it again. I ran .43 of a mile so about 700 meters each time. Then I cooled down until 5 miles. DONE WITH FINALS!!!

FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!! Ran down to SHP and wore another pair of shoes because my knee hurt yesterday. I did a 2 mile warm up or 2.5, I don't remember. Then we went onto the track and did 8x150 meter strides. Then we ran a 9 minute tempo run. I ran about 2200 meters, it was just under 2200 meters. Then I ran two laps with Larry and finished my cooldown on my own.

PM: We did the Hunger Games at SHP. I was allied with Scott, Taylor, Sarah Bischoff, and Susannah. We circled the cornucopia, they redied us and shot the 'cannon' and we ran away from the cornucopia! We ran up the hill to the SE corner of the park and hid behind the trees watching the bloodbath at the cornucopia. We waited, ran back to the cornucopia, grabbed weapons then it was WAR! Scott died, then Taylor died, then Bischoff died and I avenged Bischoff. Susannah and I lived so we ran for it! We made it to the finals and all remaining finalists had to return to the cornucopia for the finale. I was shot by the same person that killed Bischoff so I finished 6th and Susannah was able to kill someone and she finished 3rd. She was shot by the same dude that killed Bischoff and I. We played another round and I again, finished 6th, Susannah finished 5th I think and Scott won! 3.6 miles.

Felt really good today! Ran down to SHP for a mile and a half warm up, did 8 strides then 4x300. It was supposed to be 6x300 unless our times slipped. I was to hit 55 for each. I hit 56, 56. 55, the we took a lap recovery, then I did 60 and Larry finished and was about to pass out so we did 6 barefoot strides on the grass. I like this workout!

She is about 6 years old! When she goes to the olympics in 12 years, I met her!!! I did 4 strides, then a 200, 400, 200. My times went 33, 67, 33. I am very into the 66-67 pace at this point. It is faster than my 80's two weeks ago! I am becoming my old self again! The joy of running is coming again!

Summer semester is already a third of the way over... THAT IS CRAZY! Today I ran the "Girls on the Run" 5k for my work. The Girls on the Run is only for children that are girls. Each child is partnered with an adult, the 'Buddy,' that paces the girl and encourages her to keep going, keep running, not drop out, and just have fun with her! I was partnered with a 5th grader who did AMAZING! We did a warm up of about a half mile in the race, then we did speed changes of sprinting, walking, jogging, sprint, walk, jog, etc. We had such a blast! The course was two laps around Sugarhouse park, so an easy course. We came through the finish at a blazing 38:44. Then I did another lap around the park backwards cheering on all of the thousands of girls running in. We got our medal and got the best post run snack out there! DONUTS AND A SLURPEE!! Then my sister and I watched "Treasure Planet" and saw "One Million Ways to Die in the West," I was quite dissappointed with that.. Finishing the day watching Susannah DOMINATE the 5K at Regionals today! GREAT JOB SUSANNAH!

We ran an part of an outside lap then we turned on 1700 east and went to 2700 south and ran that up, along the Beat the Air 5k course, up to Tanner or Donner park or whatever park that is, then we stopped at the drinking fountain and IT WAS OFF!:( So we stretched for a little while then we got on parleys trail and ran 1.5 miles out on that to get to 5 then we came back the same way. We stopped at the Maverik to get water and we ran through the sprinklers. I think it is time for me to get new shoes because my knee started hurting last night and it hurt today. Not enough to stop but it definitely was noticeable.

Tonight I met up with Larry and Ida for a track workout... I was dead! We did about a mile and a half warm up, then 4 long strides. The workout was a ladder 200, 400, 800, 400, 200 with 1 minute recovery after the 200's and 400's and 2 minutes recovery after the 800. I was supposed to hit 36 for the 200s, 80 for the 400 and 2:40-2:50 for the 800. I went 37, 81, 2:57, 81, 34. I was slow on everything except the last 200 but that is all probably because of my lack of mileage and trying to get back into shape. Then we did a mile cooldown on the track.

Today in San Francisco we woke up way early and didn't get home until way late because we were at the car repair shop because, of course when we are going to the golden gate bridge for me to run across, the car breaks down in such a sketchy part of town my mom wouldn't let me leave the repair shop to go run so I did squats, planks, arm swings, wall sits, calf raises. Met up with Levi at the field house and I needed to do a quick run so I had time to go get help with calculus during my 2 hour lunch break before chemistry started. We decided to just run on the track at the field house so if we were going slow I could drop out and run to the showers to get myself to presidents circle.
