Today i thought I would actually begin blogging again. I need to keep blogging... Ugh, I always forget to though. But today I ran to cottonwood complex, did the course, did 6 strides and drills. Feet are beginning to hurt.

Ran on the paved trail next to Parley's canyon. I have never been there, it is way nice. It is exactly 1.5 out, so I ran out and back and went on the other trail for three quarters of a mile. Ran to a nearby park to do my strides and drills.

This afternoon I went over to Murray park and ran on the old Murray invite course. I remembered most of it which was pretty cool. I was stumbled a bit by the trail and the snake. Then I did my strides and drills. New shoes hurt my feet in the second mile then they felt great.

Went down to the Olympus track to do some speed changes. They have a really nice track! I ran a mile warm up, half mile of speed changes, then a half mile cooldown. 20 miles a week is not much at all, but it is a start. Then I did my drills.

Ran around my neighborhood for a mile and a half, then did 6 strides at a park near my house. Finished the strides and ran a half mile home. I hope I can run tomorrow, but since I do not have work since the SLCSD does not have school this week, I can definitely on Tuesday. Stretched when I got home.

Woke up this morning and my hip hurt way bad. I did a 2 mile shakeout in the morning to help it warm up. Throughout the day it really hurt. This afternoon I met up with Danny and his 9 year old daughter and we did an outer lap around sugarhouse park. Hip never warmed up. Did my core.

The U's track was closed so I went over to East's track. Warmed up my hip, did a mile warm up, a mile of barefoot strides, then a mile cooldown. Felt good to be done in the morning. Did my core when I got home.

Today I got my horizontal license for being 21, Huzzah! Anyway, Fun run today. I started by stretching and warming up my hip. The run was a waterfountain run. Run from water fountain to water fountain because it was 100 degrees today. Met up with Levi, Danny, and Christian and did an outer lap around sugarhouse park, by the 4th drinking fountain, Larry found us and finished the lap and did another outer lap with us. Came home and did my core, wall sits, and calf raises while watching the swimming olympic trials.

This morning in Cumberland, we are staying at my cousins house and she lives across the street from a High School. I went over to the high school and did a half mile warm up, mile of speed changes, then a half mile cooldown. Felt great. Love the sea level running. The humidity is way bad though. I was sweating like a pig.

Got up this morning and ran from my cousins house again and decided to look around Cumberland. I found a park and ran through the park. That park was huge! It had amusement park rides, a water park, a cemetery, and then normal park stuff in it. I turned at a mile and came home. AM: Got up at 6 without an alarm because I am back in Utah and the time difference is amazing. I got up and went on my 3 mile loop. I felt great but the dry air and altitude definitely got me. I was breathing super hard.

PM: Met up with Danny at SHP and did an inside loop in the park. We saw Levi so we stopped and talked to him for a while, then we did another inside lap and went home. Now time to unpack.

This afternoon I met up with Danny and Levi for a run. We went from SHP and did half of an outside loop then ran across 15th east until we got to 13th east, stopped and stretched and ran back to SHP to finish out that outside loop we started. Today was HOT! I was absolutely exhausted when I finished.

AM: Slept in... I went otside to run but it was too hot so I went to the elliptical and did 3 miles. At 3 miles I figured I might as well do that last half mile to even out the half mile I did yesterday so I would have even mileage. Felt sore. 

PM: Met up with Danny and Christian at SHP for a short run. Mile warm up around the park then we stretched. Ran around the park pacing Christian at a moderate pace, aiming for 10:30 and hit it right on the nose. Then did a half mile cooldown.

Weekly trail run with Suzette. This morning I met up with Suzette at Pipeline and we went 2 out and 2 back. Good run, but a slower pace than I would have liked. It is fun to run with her again. Felt great.

This afternoon I met up with Danny and Christian. I did a half mile before they got there. Danny and I did a lap around the park. Then we went over to the big hill and did 3 hills and walked down the hill backwards. Then we went over to the back of the park to run a couple 400's. We did 1 going up the hill and I ran 82, then we turned and ran one going down the hill and I ran 75. good run.

AM: Met up with Suzette this morning at JCC. We planned on going 5 but they are doing construction so we had to park at the JCC parking lot in a pay meter and we could only pay for 30 minutes so we ran 15 out and 15 back. We mad it 1.8 miles out then turned around and finished to once we got back. I forgot how hilly this run is! It felt great. I will run again this afternoon to get more mileage.

Didn't get my second run in yesterday because I was caught up watching the DNC. Today I went over to Sunnyside park for a fartlek workout. I did a mile and a half warm up then stretched while I figured out how to turn on the alarm thing on my garmin. Once I figured that out, I did 8X1on/1off. I got 2.3 miles in. Then I cooled down around Sunnyside park until I got to 5 miles. I felt really good during this run. I forgot how much I really like fartlek workouts. I am finally feeling like a runner again.

Weekly trail run with Suzette! We did pipeline but then we turned up Grandeur peak. That is a very very beautiful run but a VERY VERY steep run. We went up that for about a mile then turned around and headed back to pipeline. It was a great run! The trail was absolutely packed though, I wonder if something is going on?

Was tired by the end, but it was great to be running fast with a group. Then we did an inner lap around the park for cooldown.

Ran from my house, down to Cottonwood Complex then did an extra mile at the park. Then when I got home, after watching some of the olympics I went out for another 2 miles to finish out the mileage for the week. I felt great excluding my shins which were a little sore during the run.

Went over to the Skyline HS track. I ran 4 laps warmup in lane 4, then did 4 laps of running up and down the bleachers, finish the lap around the track and throw in some drills. Then I cooled down until 4. My shin hurt the entire run so I think it is time to pull out the compression socks. I might go on a short run later to see if that helps my legs.

Weekly trail run with Suzette. We met at City Creek Canyon to run up the canyon. I loved it. We turned at 2 miles because large animals kept appearing and it was starting to freak us out. My shins feel great when I wear my compression socks.

I wanted a 2 mile cooldown, but only was able to do 1.5 miles so I did an inside lap with Danny and Levi. Good run with great people.

This morning after watching the Olympics, I ran down to Cottonwood Complex. I started with a loop from my house that was about 0.7 of a mile then I ran down to the complex. I did the last mile of the regions course and that got me to 5. Then I did a lap around the baseball fields and a little extra to get to 5.5. After those, I took my shoes off and did 6 barefoot strides then finished out the mile to get to 6.5. I felt great, but on the downhills my shins were hurting. No achilles pain though, so that is a good thing. Did my core.

3 in the morning around my neighborhood. Then this afternoon I ran down to my grandmas house. I ran down 4500 south until Highand Drive then I turned south on Highland drive until 4800 south then ran down 4800 south until I got to my grandmas house. I love this run, it is so scenic. Felt great while running, no pain. 3.5 miles.

This morning I met up with Ida, Danny, and Danny's daughter Nina for a workout. We met at SHP and started with an inside lap warm up then a lap around the soccer fields, roughly 1.75 miles warm up. Then we did 8x200 on the track and finished with a chasing 800 around the soccer field, we did about 1 and a third laps around the soccer field. Nina went first, then Ida, myself, then Danny. I caught up to Nina and Ida and Danny never caught me. Danny and I finished with an inside lap around the park while Nina biked next to us. It was great to get outside and get moving before I start homework. I felt great the entire run, just a little tired and I never really warmed up.

Today I had a very hard workout mentally. I met up with Billy and Danny at SHP. We did an inside lap warm up, then continued over to the 2nd hill in the state course and did 5 continuous hill repeats then we continued over around the outside of the park until the 400 mark on 1700 south. Then we did a timed 400 and I got 67. I was just having a rough day, my feet were slapping on the ground, my form was gone... Then we cooled down a a half of a perimeter lap.

Met with Danny and Levi at that Horse park on 4500 South ant 1400 East. We did just laps in there. That place is awesome. I felt so much better today than I did on Tuesday. We through in a 6:05 lap and that felt really good. Then we did an extended loop for the 3rd be going out and running around the Holladay Lions center then around the farms, that added .75 so we finished that lap and stopped at 4.

Today I met up with Danny for a workout. We did an inner loop in SHP then we did 5 hill snake stride things, they felt great but holy COW! I need to work on hills. Then we did an outer loop. That is all I had time for because I had to get to an honors society meeting, but it was a good run all in all. No pain in the shins!

this afternoon I did the same run as Sunday but I did not go into Cottonwood Complex, after arriving on 4500 south, I ran back up 4500 south to 1300 east and went straight home. I felt great, a little sore, but I warmed up throughout the run. 8:12 pace.

AM: I ran 2.5 on the treadmill while watching the new episode of American Horror Story.

PM: I met up with Billy, Danny, and Levi at SHP for a workout. We did an inner loop in the park for warm up, then we stretched. The workout was starting at the far end of the field by the river, then running across the field and up the hill, over to the street down and around back to the starting line, then continue to the second one where we ran up the hill but then we went straight down the hill, then up it again then over to the street and back to the starting line as recovery. We did this until we went up the hill 3 times. The recovery was at 6 minute mile pace and the striding up the hill and across the field was supposed to be faster than 6 minute mile pace. We got 1.5 miles of this. We finished with a mile cooldown. This was a very tiring workout.

Met with Christian, Danny, and Kye at SHP for a workout. Kye and I did an inside loop for warm up then we stretched. The warm up was a bit faster than it should have been, 7:06 pace. Then we did a chasing lap inside the park. Christian went first, then Danny, then me, and Kye was chasing me. Kye caught me about .8 miles in then I eventually caught Danny right when we finished. Christian started 2 minutes ahead of Danny, Danny started 20 seconds ahead of me, and I started 20 seconds ahead of Kye. Danny and I then did a mile cooldown. 7:01 pace. Great run with great company.

I need to remember to blog more. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and holiday thus far. Today I wanted to try out my new membership to the fitness club so I ran from my house to the Lions club, about a mile, did 2.5 miles on the treadmill increasing the speed every half mile starting at 7.5MPH, then ran home. The streets and sidewalks all had like 6 inches of snow I was trekking through... Not fun, I am glad I didn't wear my new running shoes. Came home and did my core. Great run

All day I had a sore throat, but no fever so I decided to go for a run. Levi met at my house and we ran from my house, over to 1300 east,down to 3900 south, down to 1100 east, back to 4500 south, and home. Nice easy run with a couple good hills in it. Nice run to recover from being sick. I also got to wear my new Neon yellow running tights; that was awesome!
