All I have to say is that I love Monty. He came for the first time today. We ran the same 6 miler loop, except this time it was shorter with the new trail we took. I was just going to go the same pace as Monty (I was hoping slow). He was hauling through the whole thing so I did too. Austin, Trevor, and Kimz stopped at the Dixie Center and Monty, my bro, and I kept going. So we were in the lead for a while. Eventually those 3 Goolds caught us and things got competitive. I just went with Monty, I didn't care about the others. We came in behind Trev, Aust, and Kimz.
6 miler: 40:00/ 6.40 mile pace

| | XC practice-
This is my last year so I don't dread every practice, I love them. I am really excited for the upcoming season. Monty has rekindled my competitive spirit! Today we ran 5 Washington Parkway loop. Trev, Aust, and Kimz started out really fast. Monty and I were right behind. We all eventually settled in and ran strong, and Holt joined us.
5 miler: 34:02
Holt wants us (XC boys) to figure out what our team goal should be, so he can arrange for us to meet it. I will talk to the team and find out. Personally I think our goal should be a State Championship! Theres no point in settling for silver.

| | Wasatch Practice-
We ran in Oak Grove tonight. We did a 40 minute run uphill and then turned around and ran it back. My left calf was tightning for like the first 25 minutes. I stretched it twice, did nothing. I was far behind my Dad, Trev, Aust, and Kimz the whole way. The last 15 minutes of the uphill I pushed real hard. I got about 4.4 miles for the 40 minutes. I was hauling on the way back, then I caught up to Fre and ran with him. We finished the way back in 31.43. It was a great workout.
8.8(mostly uphill): 1:11.59
I talked to all the boys who came to this practice and we are all on the same page for our Cross Country goals.

USG 10K (6.2 Miles) 00:35:53, Place overall: 15, Place in age division: 5 | | O man! I felt horrible through the whole race! I can honestly say this is the worst I have felt throughout the course of a full race. I felt like I was going to throw up the whole way! I stayed mentally strong though. I wonder what my time would have been if I wasn't feeling sick the whole way. I think I might have broken 35. O well I PR'd for this course. Congrats to all my teammates and friends.
