| North side - 3.25 miles, averaged 8:32. First time on the road since Oct. 25. I sounded like a moose running. Hip felt fine.
Took the last week off because I wanted to see if I could get this thing healed. Need to try to get some miles in before ~Christmas, which marks the beginning of the Boston buildup.

I read Walter's post about a recent R2R2R venture and read a link he posted about his accident. I know Utah folks probably know about it, but I post it here for those who don't because rarely do I read something that I would call "inspiring" because I am often inspired in more mundane ways. But it is incredible.

| Jefferson High School - 7.4 miles, averaged 8:10. Hip feels good. I even tested it by stubbing my toe and falling on it. Followed it up with my new favorite recovery snack: 2 slices of Ezekiel 4:9 toast, ~1/3 avocado, topped with Sriracha.

| No run today. Stretching, core, and strength stuff in the evening. Plenty of triple lentil soup to cleanse the junk from my system. Nutrition is starting to get back on track. Think I might try more fish (generally don't do any meats at home). I absolutely love salmon.
Still eating when I am not hungry, so I need to get rid of some stress as well. Ho hum, as Bam might say.
Looking forward to actually using my Twitter account to track the gents running CIM tomorrow.
I generally slip and slide but I've seen a few Newton folks and Camille Herron use this method.

| No run. Lazy. Layed out a plan to get my nutrition back on track. Time to attack the Bam Weight Handicap goal.
Strength stuff later. A bit more consistent with running this week. 30-40 miles as the body allows. I like to be around my weekly average by the first of the year (~65 miles). Time will tell. Right now I very much does not want to get out of bed.
Pre-dinner - North side - 6.5 miles, averaged 8:19. Decided instead of complaining about being fat and out of shape I should probably suck it up and run. Trace amounts of snow. Slippery in places, but not bad.

| South side - 5 miles, averaged 8:28. Run sucked, but I have a bad attitude. I guess I should be thankful I can run again. Might start going back to the gym, but if I am going to walk two mile in the cold, I might as well run in it.
Ho, hum. Onward and upward.

| Newtone - 7.25 miles in 70 minutes. Couldn't go much faster because my heart rate was up (120 before I even got on the mill). Wore my heartrate monitor. Apparently I was running about 180BPM for 70 minutes, which just doesn't make sense. I guess I will use it more of a fitness guage (where I am still ~3 weeks from any workouts). Did about 7 minutes at 4 % incline.
2 mile total walk commute.

| Newtone - 8.1 miles in 70:15. Did 15 x 1 minute on/off descending paces for the first 10, back up and then down for the last 5. It will serve as a bench mark for now.
2 mile walk communute to the gym.
Converted my Newton Trainer 4s to screw shoes. I went with stainless because water and salt will probably eat away at the regular zinc plated ones after a while. I tested them out and tried a short uphill in my ice-covered alleyway, toeing in as much as possible. They work remarkably well. I was having so much fun I ALMOST didn't notice the 3 degree temps.

| Newtone - 7.7 in 70 minutes. Did some strides. Got the legs in touch with some sub-5:00 stuff for the first time in 6 weeks.
Usual 2-mile commute walking, except today it was more like snow-shoeing. Not a ton of snow, but it is very wet and heavy.
Waiting for my scale to tell me I am thin and pretty.

| Happy Boston Buildup Monday!
My hope was to get fit and see were SlowJoe was at and run with him, but I think I have fallen way too far off pace. I've never had such an important race, and I have never been less prepare for a marathon buildup. But I'm up for the challenge.
Sadly no run today given some time contraints and travel. I figured it was better if I spent my 70-75 minutes of running time getting to Toledo to see Megan (4-hour drive from here). Probably best as a fire has been lit under my...feet and I just need a couple short easy runs while I am there. I feel like I might get a little carried away otherwise.
