Happy Boston Buildup Monday!

My hope was to get fit and see were SlowJoe was at and run with him, but I think I have fallen way too far off pace. I've never had such an important race, and I have never been less prepare for a marathon buildup. But I'm up for the challenge.

Sadly no run today given some time contraints and travel. I figured it was better if I spent my 70-75 minutes of running time getting to Toledo to see Megan (4-hour drive from here). Probably best as a fire has been lit under my...feet and I just need a couple short easy runs while I am there. I feel like I might get a little carried away otherwise.

Running with SlowJoe would be setting the bar a bit low, even with your recovery and time off (although that would be fun and awesome). I really think once you start building your mileage back and getting in a few workouts, you'll begin to feel like the Jason that just ran 1:17 a few months ago. I don't think you just drop off the charts with that amount of layoff...

You'll be cranking again. Just be patient, don't expect to get super fit in January... if you stay consistent, it will come around and you'll be ready when it matters.

Have a good trip Jason. Good timing with that and your light runs. I'm looking forward to seeing how your buildup goes.

Ok Jason - I can sense it in your words..time to get serious. You have a great base - it just takes a little patience and focus to get back into full training mode. No doubt you will get there before you know it.

I will be keeping a close watch. I am registered for Boston too. :) (Need you to keep me on track too!)

Thanks, fellas. I'd like to run well in April, but I'm looking forward to running with and meeting my virtual friends. My running isn't possible without the blog.
