| | Early morning run in Bremerton, Washington. (4.62 in 0:39:43)
Awesome run exploring Bremerton today. I'm not used to running in this heat, so I was surprised how well the run went. Didn't have any specific goal, except to get in some good mileage. (15.69 in 2:06:39)

| | Ankle is feeling better. I was really worried because yesterday was a full day of walking in safety shoes for work. Seems like with light running it is okay. (9.66 in 1:24:36) |

| | Easy on my standard 3:30am greenbelt path in the morning. Felt meh. (8.05 in 1:06:33)
Very nice easy run with Jack at lunch time. It was pretty warm, but it wasn't bad with the very slight breeze and being distracted by conversation. Felt better than this morning. (5.15 in 0:44:42)

| | Easy run on the greenbelt. A little better than yesterday. (8.05 in 1:06:12)
Easy lunch run. Felt warmer today than yesterday. I was wanting to do a workout tomorrow morning, but I think I'll give my ankle a break until the weekend. (5.23 in 0:45:07)

| | Some fast splits, but otherwise very relaxed effort. My stomach felt like it was set with concrete for most of the run... Not sure how else to describe it but it wasn't nice. (10.16 in 1:23:13)
Easy run at lunch time. The heat was uncomfortable today, but I felt like my body got into sync by the end of my run, because it became progressively easier to maintain an easy pace, and the heat stopped bothering me as much. (5.22 in 0:44:10)

| | Well this went as well as I'd hoped. In the past I've gone for 3 hours. I definitely felt fine enough to go another 15 minutes, but the ankle started feeling slightly off. It might've been nothing but there was no reason to risk it. I got what I needed, which is to wrap my mind around the marathon distance before I start winding down to race day. I am pretty excited for the big day! (22.2 in 2:45:03) |

| | I didn't realize how sore I was until I tried to run this morning. Oof! It felt really good after a few minutes of sticking with it though and I'm glad I did it. (7.13 in 1:01:06) Easy lunch run. Good loosening exercise. (5.24 in 0:44:37) |

If they're this nice in two weeks then I will probably buy a couple more pairs. I was feeling really lame yesterday (sore and uncomfortable) and I was planning on scrapping this workout and running at a light pace on the treadmill in case my ankle gave me trouble. After a few minutes, I decided I felt okay enough to attempt the workout and it turned out to be a great experience! |

Anybody else notice that Garmin has a manual entry option for "Hang Glide" and "Wing Suit"?

| | Small workout. 3x(1T,2min). Feeling more pre-race jitters than I'm used to. Thinking this will be more of a B+ race for me. (6.6 in 0:52:23)
Quick run on the treadmill at work. I almost didn't have any time to run today, and squeezed a small 25 minute window a little after noon. 2x(1T,2min). (3.5 in 0:25:00)

| | No morning run, set my alarm for 5AM and almost slept all the way (woke up at 4:52AM).
Lunch run. Hustled at 3/2 breathing for the majority of it. A good effort to hear myself breathing, but nothing too exciting. (4.24 in 0:33:44)

Pocatello Marathon (26.219 Miles) 03:08:10, Place overall: 8, Place in age division: 1 | | True chip time was 3:08:10. At about mile 8, I knew that I wasn't getting anywhere near sub-3. BUT this was a great race for me. Well before the halfway point, I felt myself fading. Even though I knew I wasn't getting my goal, I decided early to give this race my very best. I gave 100% and feel really good about it. The neatest thing is that around mile 19, it paid off that I kept pushing, as I passed a few people that had passed me when I was fading earlier. I'm not sure why, but I definitely got a second wind about 75% through the race and kept it until the end. If think I ran a really good race and there's not much I could've done differently during the race. After finishing, my fatigue hit me like a train and I had nothing left, not even for a really short and slow cool down (I tried). Something I can improve in the long term: get back to 140 lbs. I think that's the biggest difference between my performance today and my PR at STG last year when I was 10+ pounds lighter. |
