| Barely made it on time racing down from Pine Valley after cooking at the Brandin' Iron. Parked, changed in the truck, got out and heard 45 seconds to start. Carrie met me at my truck with my timing chip and off we went. It felt as if we were really cruising as the pace felt quite zippy. Turns out it wasn't as zippy as we thought but it felt good. My foot bothered me for a mile and then just went to dull pain. If was cool looking down on town from up high and at night it's a great site. Carrie and I ran together and were doing quite well. It felt good to run harder than normal and I'm sure we'll be better for it. All 3 miles were just about the same and a good finish with some tasty smoothies at the end. (Energy: 46.6)

Nice downhill to start got the juices flowing. Found Ally and we chatted for 90% of the race. I wouldn't have kept my pace if I wasn't trying to keep up with her so thanks for pushing me along to be sub 2 hrs.
The course was mainly flat and fun to run on the trails as the sun came up. It's always fun to meet people and get/give shout outs to those you know. I started to tucker after about 10-11 miles and just needed to mentally push through. Happy to have that in the books. Congrats to Dave Holt for 2nd place and bringing home some casholla! Have you ever been stranded by rushing water? Check
Exhilerating run this morning. The parkway has never been so alive. Started in the coolness of the evening rain and as I continued, the rain returned. I soon found myself in a downpour. I decided to just enjoy the rain and enjoy the run - completely soaked. Due to time and inclement weather, the run had to be truncated.
On the return route, I noticed the water roaring off the dirt hills North of the parkway on the North side of the freeway. Wondering where all that water was going to end up soon came to an end as debris and a wall of water was blocking my pathway to safety. I thought that I was going to have to brave the waters but a nice gentleman in a truck offered to carry me to safety. I hitched a ride - and gained some great time on that stretch of the run :) All in all, I got wet. (Kinvara 2 Black: 91)

| Same course as last Saturday. I drove down into Little Valley, parked the truck, then proceeded to run home. I figured if my truck was left then I'd have to go and get it. It measured out 10.5 to my house and I actually felt pretty good, foot and all. When I got home, I refueled and headed back. This was a little better since there was more downhill; however, the longer miles do reek havoc on my foot. I will say that wearing the Hokas have softened the blow and the foot isn't falling off. The pain is a bit more manageable. The 2nd half of the run was a bit slower but glad I had my drinks stashed along the way. The only problem was that I froze them thinking they would thaw by the time I got to them and it worked but just not as much as I had hoped. I ended up with sips and not guzzles - was probably for the better of my stomach too. I guess it all worked out. (Stinson: 47.5) |

| Decided to get out and enjoy the rain this morning. I didn't want to do too much with the marathon looming out there for me next week. I started out and felt really good so I just headed on out and had a peppy couple of first miles. The start felt good so I decided to push it a little on the normal run route and see if I could beat my best loop time. Felt great and did set a new course record for myself. Nice way to end the week and start my next week of recovery and preparation. (Kinvara 2 Yellow: 79) |

| Ended up being a pretty good day. At the start, I felt great and cruised the first 8 miles through Veyo. Through Dammeron Valley, the foot and hips started to bother me and I was glad I found Jeff to give me some ibuprofen. Thanks to my sister Louise for the chocolate milk - always nice to have a little something at mile 10. The next few miles seemed to drag but were better miles since there was some downhill to the course. I always like those miles through Snow Canyon and Winchester. I was just hoping to get to the ward aid station which is at almost mile 20. I was feeling pretty beat up as I entered the ward aid station. The foot was really bothering me, the hips were struggling, and I had been stopping for icy hot for the calves. I found Bum and he hooked me up with some V8, Mtn, Dew, and some wonder drugs. I don't know what worked the best but after another mile or so, the foot became a bit tolerable and the hip pain moved away so I just kinda went with it. I was able, from miles 22 on in, keep a pretty good pace which was great. It was great to see Carrie and the family as I came into town and give me some encouragement. I turned to diagonal street and low and behold there was Scott Carlson with a Mtn. Dew code red.... just what the doctor ordered! That went down smooth and I caught Jeff and gave him the other half of the Dew. Fully loaded, I picked up my pace and took off. I had been watching my watch and thought that I could make 4:15 if I really picked it up. My pace kept on keeping on and I just felt good so I didn't get out of that zone. Ended up at 4:17 so that will be great! Another great year and now on to the 10 yr club and the dinner :)

| Was a good morning for a run. It was breezy cold at the start which was a bit uncomfortable. Ran the whole race with a headwind so whatever. Anyway, I was happy with my result as I was able to bank some time for the first 7 miles on that crazy downhill and then survive while the wheels started coming off for the last couple miles. I haven't ran this race in a few years, actually since they started up by Dammeron Valley. I liked the start area and the route going through Entrada was some rollers that I didn't expect. All in all, it was a good moring for a run. (Stinson: 101)

Started a little slow and ended up slower. Worked my way to Telegraph street then over to Costco down to the river trail that goes to the Sullivan park. From there, I headed up 300 East back to home. Had to add just a little to make it an even 7. Legs were tired this morning. (Adrenaline 15: 20.5)
