Early morning run with Rufio. Needed a long run this weekend so we tracked a little out and back down through the fields. Felt pretty good and used some GU on the return which I think helped me survive the last 4 miles uphill. All in all, I survived and needed some mental strength for the 17 miles and I think I will taper :) Bacon and eggs for breakfast anyone? (Glycerin 10: 96)

Exhilerating run this morning. The parkway has never been so alive. Started in the coolness of the evening rain and as I continued, the rain returned. I soon found myself in a downpour. I decided to just enjoy the rain and enjoy the run - completely soaked. Due to time and inclement weather, the run had to be truncated.
On the return route, I noticed the water roaring off the dirt hills North of the parkway on the North side of the freeway. Wondering where all that water was going to end up soon came to an end as debris and a wall of water was blocking my pathway to safety. I thought that I was going to have to brave the waters but a nice gentleman in a truck offered to carry me to safety. I hitched a ride - and gained some great time on that stretch of the run :) All in all, I got wet. (Kinvara 2 Black: 91)

Same course as last Saturday. I drove down into Little Valley, parked the truck, then proceeded to run home. I figured if my truck was left then I'd have to go and get it. It measured out 10.5 to my house and I actually felt pretty good, foot and all. When I got home, I refueled and headed back. This was a little better since there was more downhill; however, the longer miles do reek havoc on my foot. I will say that wearing the Hokas have softened the blow and the foot isn't falling off. The pain is a bit more manageable. The 2nd half of the run was a bit slower but glad I had my drinks stashed along the way. The only problem was that I froze them thinking they would thaw by the time I got to them and it worked but just not as much as I had hoped. I ended up with sips and not guzzles - was probably for the better of my stomach too. I guess it all worked out. (Stinson: 47.5)

Nice little run to shake out the legs. The foot is sore still from Saturday's run but survived anyway. Need to load up the ibuprofen and rest a little more. Don't want to overwork myself as I'm in full taper mode. (Energy Green: 9)

Decided to get out and enjoy the rain this morning. I didn't want to do too much with the marathon looming out there for me next week. I started out and felt really good so I just headed on out and had a peppy couple of first miles. The start felt good so I decided to push it a little on the normal run route and see if I could beat my best loop time. Felt great and did set a new course record for myself. Nice way to end the week and start my next week of recovery and preparation. (Kinvara 2 Yellow: 79)
