| Seemed like a good morning for a hilly run. Ran from home up to Bountiful Blvd then back again. The pace going up was slow but it felt good. I never had the urge to stop while going up that I usually do. Coming down, I felt really good and was able to get into a comfortable flow. |

| It was very windy this morning. I drove to the LPT and ran the first 4 miles into the wind. I figured that I would rather put the extra work into the wind during the first half of the run. I kept the pace relatively easy because my legs are a little sore from the hilly run yesterday. |

| My legs felt very tight again this morning. I also was experiencing some soreness in both of my tibias. While I was running there were a two birds doing what birds do in the spring that came an inch or two from crashing into my head. |

| I woke up in the middle of the night to do a little work. Was able to go back to sleep for a couple of hours but felt really yucky when I woke up. My plan was just to go 4 easy miles but as I got going, I felt a lot better so I extended the run a little. I kept the pace super easy. |

| Ran 4 miles at 7:30/mile pace before the club run. It was a pretty small group this morning because of of the L2L relay. Trevor was there so I new I would get a good work out for the first 2.5 miles. We ran 6:45/mile pace until he turned back at 2.5 miles. It was a lot of work and I just wasn't feeling it this morning. After he turned back, I backed off the pace and ran the rest at 7:30/mile pace. Wished I would have felt better this morning but it is nice that my bad runs are better than the good runs a few months ago.

| Everything was bothering me this morning. Not sure what the deal was. It seems like anything that could go wrong did this morning. I almost got hit by a couple of cars, I tripped in a pothole, I was nauseous, I was tired, my legs hurt. Other than that it was a pretty good run. As I was running by McDonalds, a truck had to slow down and wait for me. As I passed the driveway he squealed his tires when he pulled in. I guess he had to let me know how inconvenient it was for him to wait 2 seconds to get his egg mcmuffin.

| The roads and sidewalk were very slippery. I kept the pace easy so that I could maintain my footing. I'm so ready for spring. |

| I did a shortened version of my weekly hill run. I felt fine going up but coming back down my knees weren't cooperating so my pace wasn't as quick as I would have liked. The moonset (is that what it is called?) looked pretty cool this morning. |

| My legs are pretty sore from yesterday's hilly run. I can't decide if this is a good or bad thing. It's either an indication that I worked them pretty hard yesterday or that my fitness has dropped off so much that they can't handle the workload anymore. Either way, I wanted to treat today's run as a recovery so I kept the pace slow and easy. Ended up running a very ugly, industrial route which gave the run a very negative feel.

| Started out with 4 miles before the club run (averaged 7:20/mile). Saw Kathie on the way out and tried to catch her on the way back. She was moving too quick and I couldn't catch up to her. Since Trevor wasn't there today and Jim's long runs are on Sunday and likes to take it easy on Saturday I thought that I could slack off a little today. Jim wanted to push the pace a little so we ran the first 4 miles at 6:45-6:55/mile. We backed off the last 2 miles and ran with a few people from the group the rest of the way (around 7:30/mil). I felt pretty good during the run but it was a bit of work to maintain the pace. Jim has been working really hard for a sub 3 attempt at Boston and he is in incredible shape right now. These are the only times that I regret not keeping my training at a high level. It is hard when you are running with somebody who doesn't seem to be working at all and you are doing all that you can to keep up.

| I think that spring is finally here. I know that I run the risk of jinxing us but I'm willing to take that chance. It seemed like my legs didn't want to cooperate this morning. There were only mildly sore but I could not get them to move very well. Averaged 7:45 running into the wind and 7:20 running with the wind. I'm starting Kathie's push up challenge today. I did 30 push ups during the initial test yesterday so I am starting in week 3. I did column 3 today but am not sure if I will be able to handle it and may move to column 2. |

| I started a little further north on the LPT than I normally do so that I could check some of the other mile markers. Started a quarter mile before the 6 mile marker and ran out to the 10 mile marker. All mile markers seemed to be right on. The 7.5 mile marker registered short on my Garmin because of the tunnel I had to run through but I'm pretty sure it is where it is supposed to be. It took a couple of miles for my legs to warm up but once I got going they felt good. After the run, I did week 3, day 2 of the hundred push up. I alwasy struggle with the last set and can barely make it to the minimum. I guess it's not supposed to be easy.

| Turned today's run into another easy one. I just meandered through a few neighborhoods then headed down to the LPT and ran on the dirt trail then headed back home (thank goodness for the Garmin). Will do week 3, day 3 column 3 of the push up challenge later today. |

| I woke up and really did not want to go running. I almost bagged it but decided to drag myself out of bed and drive up just run with the club with out any extra mileage. I got there a few minutes early so I got in a quick mile. Trevor wanted to run the entire route this week which was good because instead of running the first 2.5 hard then backing off I was able to run a good consistent effort the entire run. After a slow first mile, we maintained a little slower than 7:00/mile the rest of the way. It was a good effort and felt really good. I'm glad I convinced myself to go. |

| I survived winter's last hurrah (hopefully). The snow wasn't bad but the wind was a pain. I'm not going to complain about all of the strange aches and pains because I'm sure it is weather related. All of the strange twinges don't seem to bother me when the weather is good. I did week 4, column 3 day 1 of the push up challenge and struggled to get to the minimum on the last set. I made it but it was tough. If I can't make it through day 2, I will repeat week 3. |

| Was able to drive to the LPT and get in a good run. It was a little windy going out but it was mostly a cross wind so it didn't affect the run too much. I started a little further north again in my quest to verify all of the mile markers. I was going to turn around at the 10.5 mile marker but never found it. That must be the one that JD said was off. After the run I did day 4, column 3 day 2 of the push up challenge. The first 4 sets felt good and I was doing well with the final set until one of my daughters had a hair emergency that required my immediate attention. I finished a few short of the minimum.

| I was short on time so I cut the run a little short. I felt really good during the run. I thought a lot about my running goals and think that I am still content with maintaining a decent base until I decide what I want to do. | Started with 4.5 miles before the club run. I have been neglecting my hill runs lately so I wanted to throw in a little hill running before meeting with the club. Did a loop that started on Daivs Blvd and went down to Orchard Dr then back up. It was a good climb and I felt decent while coming up. Pretty small group this morning so I ended up running solo. I was able to maintain a decent pace and felt good through out the run (except when I had to field a call and continued running during the conversation). |

I helped my ex move yesterday so I was feeling pretty beat up this morning. It sure does make me appreciate my office job. Of course it was snowing again today. At one point it was snowing as hard as it has this year. My plan was to run 6 easy miles then pick up the dog that I am dog sitting and run a couple more miles. She is now to the point were she doesn't want to run with me anymore. She stopped and her collar came off and she took off. I panicked since she was running off without any identification. Fortunately she stopped for a potty break and I was able to catch her. Took her back home and went out to get 7 for the day. I'm re-doing week 4 of the push up challenge because I wasn't happy with how it went last week.
