My legs are pretty sore from yesterday's hilly run.  I can't decide if this is a good or bad thing.  It's either an indication that I worked them pretty hard yesterday or that my fitness has dropped off so much that they can't handle the workload anymore.  Either way, I wanted to treat today's run as a recovery so I kept the pace slow and easy.  Ended up running a very ugly, industrial route which gave the run a very negative feel.

My vote is that you worked really hard! I notice that too that when the run is pretty it is easier... why is that?

I agree, the soreness means you earned it. Your sore muscles will be stronger and better; they didn't know the recovery run was on an ugly industrial route.

Andy and Kathie, I agree. I like to choose runs that are pretty. I think the more scenic runs distract you from running and it becomes more enjoyable.

Sorry about the route ... sorry about the legs ... but all this just means that the next few days will be AWESOME!!
