Woke up at 5:45 a.m. due to a friend texting me from the start of the SG marathon. They were a bit too excited to run 26.2 miles. I told the person I would dedicate 10 miles to them. I was staying in Bluebell Utah, which is basically 10 miles north and east of nothing. I was staying at a lodge for my cousin's wedding. I had spent hours the previous day helping the family set up the wedding. The wedding was beautiful, but deep down I really wanted to be at the race. Such is life. I woke up, quickly got dressed and slipped away from the pink and yellow decorated cabin. I ran 2 miles in a cow pasture hehehe. This was new to me. I was a little nervous to run through the cattle in order to make it to the road. But I guess the cattle were more nervous than I was and just ran the other direction as I approached. It was kind of fun running toward the cattle and watching them run in all different directions. I would do it again. I then ran 8 miles on country roads being passed by only 3 cars my entire run. Beautiful scenery and perfect temps. The run made me miss running in the Uintah Basin a little bit. I was happy that I was at the wedding. Believe it or not, family does come before running. :) IF I ever get married, running will FOR SURE be on the wedding day agenda. What an amazing way to clear your mind before such a chaotic day.
