6 mi. on gym treadmill after work.  Thank goodness for 11 TVs to channel surf between at the gym.  I never would have lasted so long on dreadmill without them.  Played with incline & speed a bit to try to keep my body working hard.

Wow! Where did the week go! It went by so fast I didn't even have time to blog my runs until now.  Long story short, I had a pretty good week.  I'm 3 mi. short of my silver goal for the week.  I am going to walk tomorrow and cheat a bit by getting my last few miles via cross-training (walking).  Time to get serious about the marathon.  Its a long shot to meet my goal of 3:45 SGM because of my lame June & 1/2 July training.  But I'm going to take Aug & Sept. serious and just do my best!

Today I ran 11 mi. w/ Sole Sisters.  My body was struggling, after 6 mi. it got really hard.  Heat was part of it I'm sure (high 80's outside).  But thanks to good friends & conversation I made it through.  Our av. pace was 10:15 but that was with 2 gas station stops where I didn't stop the Garmin, so I figured we were running about 9:20.

(gonna go back & log my M-F runs for this week now)

Decided to put the link to my family blog on the left side of my blog profile if anyone's interested.

Heck ya, I'm counting the .02 of my 4.62 miles today! Met up with Buff & Heather, nice run.  Felt a bit more energy today than I have on the last few runs.  The joke was that we were all feeling good cause its cooled down to 84 instead of 88 like it was on our last morning run. Embarrassed to say I didn't get my preblogging down yesterday.  Went to 2 Back to School nights then decided to hit the stores for the back to school supplies.  I didn't want to have to face the stores this Sat. so I just decided to get it done! My run was the sacrafice.  At least I got in a decent one today.  Long run planned for tomorrow with Sole Sistas. Gotta run to Colorado City for work now.  Looking forward to catching up & commenting on everyone's blogs this weekend!

Pretty good long run w/ Sole Sisters today.  I actually had good energy and probably could've gone at least 2 more miles.  BUT we were having a garage sale so I needed to get back.  Not as excited for the marathon as I was last year.  This is probably 'cause my 2 closest running buddies aren't running it this year.  But Sat. I ran with some other girls who are running and it got me a tad more excited.  Just gotta keep upping the mileage!

Nice run w/ Buff & Heather.  Felt good energy today.  Garmin was dead (forgot to charge it) so have no idea what our pace was but Buff said we were going a good pace.  Ran out of time to get more mileage in, but felt I was good for a couple more miles.  At least I feel my fitness level is starting to make a comeback.

I must be off my rocker! I woke up at 4:30 am to workout today! First weight class then hill repeats.  I felt really good throughout.  Must hit the sack now, its 10pm and I'm in a zombie-like trance.  Good night! (I think a wee bit of SGM excitement is starting to creep into my system)

BTW- watched Spiderwick Chronicles with my kids tonight.  Good flick! We all liked it. (scary for 8 & under though, IMHO)

Good miles w/ Buff & Heather.  Forgot to charge my garmin so not sure on pace.  Asked gals while we were running and it was 9:11, I'd say that was pretty average for the run.  My chins & knee are sore.  Past time for new shoes, gotta find time to make it to the running store soon.

My son had an early soccer game in Vegas (his team won- yah!) and I couldn't figure out how to get my long run in without having to get up at 3am.  I just wasn't feeling that crazy today.  So I plan on getting out tonight and getting some miles in! Yell at me if I don't! Every Sat. counts from now until SGM! (I'm in such worse shape this year compared to this time last year, oh well..)

I got in 7 miles which isn't exactly the 14 or so that I needed for my training plan.  But every mile counts and somehow I have to balance running, family, work, church responsibilities, etc... So I'll take my 7 and just try for more miles next week!

It was a solo evening run w/ the ipod.  Got to see the sun set and run by a cool overlook of St. George.  I stopped about every mile to drench myself with water, but kept a 9:50 pace so I'm happy with that.  My body seems to be doing much better in the heat also, considering it was 100 degrees out and I survived!

Its Sunday and I'm feeling reflective.  Time to set some weekly goals and look at my marathon training objectively.  Last year I ran a 4hr marathon, my goal was to break 4 hrs (just wanted a 3:59) but didn't make it by 1 minute.  That was OK 'cause it was my first and I enjoyed the race.  Then I got the idea in my head that I wanted to BQ.  Now its time to come to terms that I haven't put in the effort for a BQ, so I need to reassess and make some new goals for SGM.  I'm not a consistent person and I'm full of excuses,  BUT I think my 2 main obstacles have been #1 starting a new job and #2 my running buddy is pregnant and backing off her runs just as I should be ramping up.  Obstacle #1 is getting better.  I've been in a new schedule for 2 months so although it affected my training in June & part of July, I feel I'm much more under control now and the last month has been pretty good.  Don't have my goals for SGM set in stone yet, but they're looking something like this:  GOLD- 3:45 (BQ) hey while it may not be realistic, gotta keep the possibility alive / SILVER- 3:55 / BRONZE- 3:59, really want to at least break 4 hrs.

Weekly Goals:

1. Hook up with some other running buddies, don't be so dependent on Heather

2. Get in a long run of at least 16 miles come hell or highwater

3. Sign up for The Trails 20 miler Sept. 6th to commit myself to that long run

This is was one of those runs that make me remember why I love to run!  Solo night run, quiet evening, full moon, by the pond & ducks, me & the IPOD.  Legs felt good, effort felt just right.

Foremaster loop with Heather. She is so sweet to still get up early and run with me, I feel like she's just doing it to support me sometimes (she is 2 mo. pregnant)  Didn't take my garmin on this run so not sure of pace, but I felt really good and the run felt easy so I'll consider that a great sign!

WHOO-HOO! I'm back in the game.  Just had a great 19 miler with negative splits.  Last mile Teresa & I were flying (ok, for me its flying) at 7:11 pace.  It was so fun! Av. pace 8:53 and that's without stopping the garmin at all (we had 4 water stops)  Tammy, Teresa, Conadae (sorry if I slaughtered the spelling!) & I ran the SGM course.  It was so fun! I'm pretty sure I saw Clyde (Superfly on the blog) breeze past us at one point.  Also saw Steve H. out there, looking good! There were lots of people & lots of marathon excitement.  I'm finally mentally getting pumped up! Only bummer is I have 2 purple toes already.  Its probably from all the downhill & shoes being a bit too big.  Gotta get smaller ones.

Going to the lake to play now. Have a great weekend bloggies!

Learning run today.  Pushed my body to its limit and it screamed at me.  Last week had hardly any miles, too little sleep and poor diet.  Went out there Sat. and thought I could pull off a 16 miler.  Body had other plans.  Hit the wall at 13 and had to walk/jog the rest of the way.  Legs were bricks, NO energy.  Despite the fun life stories that Steph & Shelly were sharing to try to pull me along, I just couldn't go.  Had to send them to finish without me.  Probably good wake-up call to start listening to my body better.  Goals for this week

Sept. 1st-Sept. 6th:

1. More weekly mileage, meet gals 2x a week so I'll have partners (I've still been suffering from partner adjustment since Heather got pregnant and cut back)

2.  Get into SGRC to sign up for Saturday's 20 miler

3.  NO Diet Coke all week, more whole grains & veggies

4.  Start using sleep tracker on blog, bed by 9:30 (ambitious, yes)
