Russian champion tries Crocs, commits to racing a marathon in them

Nikolay Chavkin in the video below did 3x1000, first two in Adidas carbon-fiber models, the last one in Crocs. Surprised by the result (2:52, 2:52, 2:50) with the fastest interval done in Crocs, he committed to racing a marathon in Crocs if the video gets 42K likes and 195 comments (for 42 km 195 m, the marathon distance). Nikolay's current marathon PR is 2:14:00. The video was created by a Russian sporting goods store chain. Their moto is "more sports - brighter life", which we think is wonderful, and also deserves a Like. If you want to see a fast marathon in Crocs, go to the video and click the Like button. And make sure to share it with your friends.

XC Practice-

AM: Ran with Coach, Austin, and Kimzey for the first part of our run. Later I was having stomach problems so I dropped back and ran with WILLY. Long, but fun run in the desert. 7.5 miles

PM: Ran from Ray Banks house to the Skim Board Park with my dad. Saw 3 deer in some fields across from Riverside Elementary. 4.5 miles

XC Practice-

AM: Yes I had my first bad practice of the year! Did the Dogpound run, and felt sick the whole time. I walked a lot to avoid pooping my pants. Once I got back to the school I rushed home, took care of business, and did 6 barefoot striders. I'm guessing I ran about a total of 5 miles.

PM: 4 Easy miles by myself around my neighborhood.

XC Practice-

AM: Both my running partners are gone. Monty is gone at some camp, and Will the Thrill is doing less miles than the varsity group. So today I ran with the 3 Goolds, on the highland run. I ran pretty well until about the last 400. It was a fun run in the desert though. 7.25 miles

PM: I ran around my hood with my brother. 3.5 miles

PM: Half mile warm-up to Lutheran church. 7 miler with the running club. I felt good at the beginning but fell apart at the end. It was a combination of a side ache and sore muscles. 7.5 miles

XC Practice-

AM: I'm really feeling the effects of these 2 a days. Only getting about an hour of sleep didn't help anything either. Ran up some monster uphill in the Green Springs Desert. Ran with Austin, Trev, and Manuele. I walked a lot so I'm guessing I ran about 6.25 miles

I feel really worn out but I still want to reach 60 miles for this week.

AM: BAM! I got a good long run in this morning. I ran real easy to the Springs from my house. Then down through the fields to the river. I totally almost got ran over by a deer too. So Sweet! I swam in the deep river, it was fun. 8.25 miles

PM: During the day I went to Lower Sand Cove and swam across it, good exercise. I ran home from Ryans house to get a 3 miler in. Nailed it! I got my 60 miles for this week, now someone kill me. 3 miles
