I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

AM- 6. Bad night last night, only slept 2 hours. Ugh. I did get a massage today, which should help with my back pains that stemmed from my rib injury.

AM- another hour xt. Maybe try running later this week. Finally starting to feel noticeable better. Sneezing doesn't even hurt too much. I'm more worried about reaggravating my back at this point.

I ran. Only 2 miles, but still. 45 min bike, 2 miles run. Felt ok- sluggish, back still not great, but doesn't hurt afterwards like it did last time.

In other news, I'm really tired after staying up so late last night watching the Broncos awesome win. For 2 straight games, it's fun being a Broncos fan in Carolina country.

Sick at home, no run. Really sore throats really stink, as do noses that are stuffy yet runny.

Back to work, but no run yet. Probably tomorrow. Between Monday morning to Wednesday morning, I slept about 24 of the 48 hours. Oofdah. Not sure when I've ever slept that much.

Lunch- played Ultimate frisbee for the first time since the rib injury. Skills had slipped a bit and I couldn't run quite as much as usual, but still so much fun. If I could play ultimate more and run less, I wouldn't complain. Fun sport.

AM- went for a nice morning run after a long day yesterday (work then temple means leave before 7 am, home at 10 pm). Getting home was delayed as I wanted to fill the car with gas but multiple stations were out due to a pipeline breaking in Mississippi. It's amazing how our just-in-time society is so dependent on everything working just right. One pipeline leaking results in gas going up 35 cents in a few hours and multiple stations running out of gas. If there were a long time shortage... well, it wouldn't be pretty.

Anyway, today's run was a slow 6 miles- 8:30 avg pace, or so. Lower legs are a bit sore from the running yesterday, plus bad sleep the past few nights (4 hours last night as I was up at 3 am onward due to sick kid). I listened to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History series- amazing podcasts. I'm on the 5th of 6 in the WW1 series, and each one is 4-5 hours long. WW1 is amazing and so sad.

Lunch- frisbee monday. fun game- my team was shorthanded the whole time (6v7, then 5v6) but won 5-2 at the end. If you win when you have an extra person, it's kind of expected. But if you win when down a person, it's that much better. Still warm out- fall has to come at some point, right?

AM- working from home today. 6 miles, 8:20-8:00 pace. I can't believe how slow I am these days. Then again, I think I've had a permanent shift and the old days are never coming back.

Lunch- ultimate frisbee. My team won the game at the end 5-0. Pretty good.

The Bear 100 is today. I was reading updates and realized they changed the course from Logan River to Ranger Dip. I spent a while figuring out the new path. I know they were expecting terrible weather (cold, rain, snow, wind). I started looking on facebook and discovered they actually changed to a snow course this year, and out-and-back to Tony Grove. Oofdah, that's a big change. Here's wishing well to all the racers.

Lunch- fall temps will come eventually, right?!? Frisbee today- 5 v 6, my team had the 5. So much running. We got our butt kicked most of the day before the official game to 5, which we won 5-3. Sweet. Most tired I've been from a game in a long time, though.

Lunch- frisbee. First day below 80 deg- mid 70's but breezy. Between the wind and just sloppiness, it was a pretty bad game- lots and lots of bad throws.
