| My longest run after June last year was 10.0 miles. Forced rest and recovery. Now that it's a new year, my restriction is gone. I didn't intend to go longer right away, but I felt so good on this run with spry legs and great weather (60 deg, no rain) that I ran 10.5 miles in 76 min. I'm still not racing for at least 6 more months, though. That would mean a whole year of no racing, and 2 years of no competitive racing (yes, Western States 100 was non competitive). |

| PM- several of us have a bit of stomach issues today. By the late afternoon, I felt mine had settled enough to do a short run without needing to carry a full roll of toilet paper. 4 miles in abour 31 min.

| AM- 11 miles. Planned on 10, and it was a slow 10 (mainly 8 min pace or slightly faster), but then I figured now that my 10 mile ban is over, why not throw on an extra mile, just cause I can.

| PM- PM run with Seth and Barry. It was pretty cold out, below 40 and breezy. I actually felt really good, as opposed to yesterday. Lots of energy, no soreness from the hills or rocks, and I even ran away from the other two at the end. Normal loop, plus a little extra to go see the property Barry is thinking of buying.

| Lunch- Dan wanted a workout, so we ran to the lake and ran a 5k. I tailed behind the others- my lungs generally felt ok, but my legs were burning, especially my hip flexors. Started at 6:25 pace, then gradually slowed till I finished at 6:45 pace. It was my first sub-7 min miles since June. I'll take it. Finished the 5k in 20:30 (that's nothing to write home about!) and did 8 or so miles in all.

| PM- Finally had time for a run late afternoon, so I figured I'd tackle two items at once- went to the gym and watched the first half of the NFL playoff game while running 13 miles. Felt pretty good, a bit tired by the end. Once again, this was my longest run and my first 60+ mile week since June.

| Lunch- frisbee friday, but on a thursday. That was due to expected cold, heavy rains all day tomorrow. Ran the GE trail plus a bit by myself first, then an enjoyable game of frisbee with 10-11 people. Fun times.

| Was supposed to do a cold run at Paris Mtn with Seth, but had to cancel to take a kid to urgent care. They couldn't figure out what is wrong with her arm, though. We'll hear from the radiologist tomorrow.

| We're supposed to have ice and snow tomorrow, so we did Frisbee Friday on Thursday again. Great weather for a game, not too windy, cool. 5v5. I even got a black eye from a contested catch. Fun times. Broke my streak of running pre-game.

| Freezing rain is falling, it's 30 deg and 20+ mph winds, the roads are icy, and the gyms are all closed. I'm going soft- I think I'm just taking a goose egg for the day. Plus, kid number 4 is turning 3 years old today. She's now allowed to play with almost every toy, according to the toy makers. I better sit back and watch

| Lunch with the guys. Great day for a run, 50 deg and overcast, minimal wind, not rainy. Felt pretty dang sluggish at first but stuck it out for 78 min.

| Got sucked into work during lunch, but made it out at the end of the day. I was a bit underdressed for the temp and wind, but not terribly so. 10 miles that were slower at the end than the start.

| AM- Holy cow was I tired today. I've come down with yet another cold, and am stuffy, sore, and tired. I slogged through 6 miles in 50 min or so. Not a great run, but better than 0. This is my second highest week since last June. Looks like I'm finishing the month just over 200 miles.
