AM- 6. Pretty slow, but who really cares. Nice to not have an alarm this morning, although I still woke up before 7. Actually, my wife had been asked to take a neighbor to the airport at 4 am, so I actually woke up then, first, then took a while to sleep again. Going blueberry picking after Marci returns from soccer, then bbq tonight. Hot here, upper 90's to 100's all week, plus humidity. Retired my shoes today. I have lots of pair over 400 miles, and no test shoes right now, so I'll be having to grab some of the dozen+ new shoes from the boxes in my closet.

My dad had emergency heart surgery in India last night. Reports are he is doing ok, with several stents put in. Praying for him. I think the only people that will even read this are my parents plus Rob, and maybe a couple others.

Happy Independence Day, everyone! Also known as Secession Day (yes, I live in the South now)

PM- PM with Barry on a hot day (heat index above 100). Did the full 10 mile loop with a nice swim in the lake at the halfway point. Actually jumped in twice. Hot, got it done. Nice to be on trails. Lots of good discussion, as always- health, dogs, and the double standard for normal people vs the Clintons.

Lunch hot 6 miles, then an hour of ultimate. Dead by the end. Upper 90's and humid means well over 100 for Feels Like temp.

Am- only had time for a (slow) 8 miles in 64 min before heading out on a busy day. Slow, again. 80+% of my summer runs are this way, partly due to heat, partly due to me being in not great shape, and partly due to excess weight and fatigue.

AM- 9 miles. Training all week at work, with my whole team from across the country in town. That means 40 hours of training and then a number of hours of work after. I've generally not been getting home from work until 7 pm or later many nights, and this will likely continue. Too busy.

AM 7 miles with a group of coworkers who are in town for the week of training. Kinda slow, but not too bad. I think I did about 70 minutes, so probably 7-7.5 miles.

AM left for work at 6:15 am. Ran 76 min w Jim and Jason first- nice temps. Call it 9.5 miles. Then work, then stayed late to work on church talk (too noisy at home). Left work at 9:30 pm. One of those days.

AM- only had time for 6 before work. Saw the turkey, the turned me around. I was in a pretty bad mood- I was daring the turkeys on the GE track to get in the way, cause I was willing to give one a kick in the head if needed. I think they could sense my mood and wisely ran out of the way.

Slept less than 3 hrs. Gaaah, this is going to kill me. Now I'm moderating iRunFar Hardrock discussion board for 4 hours, then watch the kids all morning/afternoon as Marci does youth temple trip. Somewhere in there I need a nap and to finish writing my sacrament talk for tomorrow.

Lunch- 8 of us today, the biggest group I've seen in a while. 56 minutes together, then the others stopped and I ran 3 lonely, hot miles by myself. Ugh. 80 minutes, 10 miles.

Lunch- 4 followed by an hour of ultimate. Hot. Fun. Not as sloppy of play as a few weeks ago.

Did Breakout as group in the evening. We almost got out. I had a long week so immediately got in bed at 9:30 pm. Then I couldn't fall asleep until after 1 am. Of course I couldn't sleep. My no sleep streak continues. Even though I'm extremely tired everyday and feel on the verge of breaking down, I can't think of the last time I slept more than 5 hrs. Blah.

AM- very tired. Slogged through 4 miles at 9:15 avg pace. I've done a 100 mile race at faster average pace then that, y'all. But I needed it. The last mile was as slow as the first, so no improvement. Left shin is sore, not sure if it's shin splints or just sore.
