Met the BBK's for a track workout.  Felt okay but loved the track!  I messed up on my garmin (shocking - I know).  We did 400, 300, 200, 100 with equal recovery and then repeated the sequence.  Massage again tonight - I would sure love to be done with this stupid injury.

Ave Pace 8:57 ( missed 1 mile on the track, so it was faster than that)

Ran with Paula.  Felt about the same after the massage.  I worked on my form and I think that helped a little.  Completely exhausted.

Met the BBK's for the Thursday workout.  They were doing hilly tempo repeats.  I just wasn't up to it and did not want to further injure myself so I ran easy with Cheris.  Nice and Easy.

Met Lisa, Michelle N and Julie to run the Bluffdale Town Days routes.  They are pretty fair, challenging but not too difficult.   Felt okay, not great - getting tired of this.

Five miles on  my own.  Sometimes it is nice to just have me and my ipod.  Felt pretty good.  I worked on my form and it seemed to help.

Met the BBK's for speed work.  We ran 3 warm up miles and then did 2 x 1/2 mile repeats, 1 x 2 mile @ 1/2 marathon pace (ended up being more like 10K pace) and then 1200 meters with a 400 meter recovery.  I felt great today - FINALLY!  I hope it is a sign of things to come.

Met the BBK's for our Thursday workout.  We ran up Glenmore and then back down.  I had forgotten how difficult the up is because it does not look as steep as it is.  It took me a while on the return to get in gear.  I had a difficult time keeping it around a 7:30 pace.  The last .5 mile I work on visulization of the end of a race - pushing hard and running through to the end.  Felt great until the last 2 miles but nothing too serious.

I had planned on running with Cheris and Julie today but they both had things come up so I called Paula and she was great to come along.  We ran the first 8 together.  I was very tired from yesterday's long tempo run so the beginning was VERY slow, but I was okay with that because I was combining a long run with a recovery run - not the best combination.     I felt great when I dropped Paula off at 8 miles and then continued on my own.   I ended up picking up the pace as the run went on and felt really good.  The IT band was a little sore from miles 7 - 10 but then ended up feeling good after that.  Nice to feel good for a long run.

Back in Utah and met with the BBK's for 5K repeats.   We warmed up for 3 miles and then I pushed the first repeat just slightly and then enjoyed the second.  Finished up with a cool down to make an even 10.

Race: Wasatch Back Relay (7.8 Miles) 01:06:00

Met up with my fellow BBK'ers for Wasatch Back.  I was in Van 2 so we got to sleep in a little.   I was the first runner in our van and I was a little anxious to get going.  I ran twice on Friday and here are my legs -

#1 - Leg 7.  This is a 4 mile easy stretch at the first major exchange.  I started out pretty quick and kept picking people off.  It was very hot and I have not done any training in the heat but seemed to be okay.  So glad to have the first leg done and with some success.  Ave pace 7:49

#2 - Leg 19.  This is a 3.8 mile stretch at the third major exchange at East Canyon.  I started out feeling great up the first climb and attacked the down hill.  I had worn a long sleeve shirt and started overheating on the next climb, but with the reflector, head lamp and carrying my iphone because I forgot my ipod (this was the one leg I wanted it for) I could not take it off.  I felt good until about half way up and then I really started to struggle and mentally was having a hard time staying focused.   Once I reached the crest and hit the flat I was able to pick it back up and finished strong.  Ave Pace 9:07

Overall felt okay about the day.  Leg 1 was good but very frustrated and disappointed by myself with leg 2.   I can do better and really need to get my act together.

Leg 30 - This is the first leg at the final major exchange.  We got about 3 hrs of sleep in the car and I was so tired I did not hear people getting up and out of the van.   Slept great which is CRAZY!

I was pretty nervous to start my last leg because my second run did not go well.   Started out and felt pretty good and began pushing the pace as I could see people to pick off.  There were not alot because we had gained quite a bit of time over night.  It was a beautiful morning in Heber and I ended up feeling really good.   I wish I had warmed up a little so that I did not have to warm up during my leg but felt very strong at the end.  Ave Pace 7:50

It was a great experience and I learned quite a bit since this was my first Wasatch Back.   Thanks to a Great BBK team and friends who made this such a fun experience.  Our team time was 25:58:19 and we were the 8th team overall to finish.   Due to some poor course marking our last runner took a wrong turn along with many others so we ended up running 189 miles instead of 188.   Can't wait to see where we we ended up finishing.

In Florida for a conference for work.  It is so humid!  I woke up and looked outside and it was dark and windy and I really did not want to go out but once I was out the door I was very grateful for the wind and it trying to keep things cool.  One mile was on the beach  and the rest on the road and sidewalks following the shore.   My legs are very tired from Wasatch back, no soreness, just tired.

I was planning on getting up early to get 10 miles in today but I could not go to sleep last night.  I finally fell asleep around 2 am and when my alarm went off at 5:30 I went back to sleep.  I headed out tonight at 6:30  and the temp was 90 degrees, not sure on the humidity but it was high and 20 mile an hour winds - quite the combination.  I was going to try to replicate the hill work out the BBK's were planning on but it is flat, flat, flat - not a hill in sight.    So I opted for heat training.  I felt really good until mile 5 and I got tired really fast.  I did not carry water or gatorade so I convinced myself to get in one more mile and then I could walk on the beach.  SOOO worth it.  I ended up walking for about 1 mile on the beach back up to the hotel and it was a beautiful evening and sunset.

My daughter had a softball tournement out in Tooele and had to be there at 7 am.  Left the house at 6 and dropped her and my other kids off and then ran while the warmed up.  Did 3 out and then 3 back.  The out was an up hill with a strong crosswind that sometimes ended up being a headwind.  Turned around and ran back aided, but quick.  Miles were: 9:15, 9:15, 8:53, 7:37, 7:14, 7:17.

Met Cheris, Chris, Cheryl, Lisa and Michelle M for our Saturday morning run.  We ran the Riverton 10K route and then added on.  Felt much better than I thought I would but my stomach was upset due to all the junk food I have eaten for 2 wks.  Climbing back on the wagon.
