Met Paula for our Friday run.  We had a light drizzle the entire time but  it was not bad.  The leg/knee flared up after two miles and was pretty painful.  I am sure that the IB I am taking on Tuesdays/Thursdays is masking some of the pain.  I am working on getting a massage scheduled and if history is correct, this usually helps.

Also - Signed up for Hobble Creek today and overnighted my SG registration earlier this week.  Getting excited for this summer!

Ran with Cheris, Dean, Michelle M, Julie, Lynette and Lynette this  morning.  We got out early before the ran for what was supposed to be an easy 8 mile run.  It turned quickly into and 8 mile tempo run.   My last two miles were 7:33 and 7:10.

I felt pretty good and had taken IB before.   My husband worked my hip and leg over pretty good last night but there is still some tighness and effects on my knee.  I have a massage scheduled for Tuesday and then we will see where I am at.

Ran with Paula this morning.  I felt pretty good.  I could feel my trouble areas on the downhill and they were achy but no sharp pain like before.  I hope this a sign of things to come.  Beautiful morning!

Meet the BBK's to run the Parkway Palisades hills.  I ended up feeling pretty good and had a good work out. I had to leave early to get home so I missed the last part of the work out.  When I was running back to my car I turned funny and felt my hip and IT band for the first time.

Six very slow miles with Paula.  I did not feel good at all, both my IT Band and hip bothered me.  I had a massage on Tuesday and I am not sure if working this area didn't help or if I over did the hill workout - quit possibly I over did it.  No pace - garmin was dead.

Happy Running!

Met the BBK's for 5K repeats.  We used the first 5K as a warm up and then dove right into the second.  I forgot to reset my watch so I do not have an exact time but somewhere around 22:40.  I took the third as a fast paced cool down because my legs were exhausted.  I had taken IB before and felt pretty good once we started the second 5K and for the rest of the run.  The pain is now more hip/glute than IT and I am really hoping it goes away soon.

Very painful miles with Paula.  I am officially taking some time off - hopefully 1 wk. Wish me luck.  Hopefully some time off will make me feel better.

Went and had a massage and worked out some of the kinks.  He thinks that everything is tying back to some knots in my glutes.  I am taking the rest of the week off and will start some light running next week.

Well I made it a whole week - bad new is while I felt better, it was not a significant improvement.  Very frustrating.  I am going to try to run this week with just easy miles and see how it goes.

Met the BBK's for some easy mileage.  Nancy and I were the only ones that showed up at 5:15 so we warmed up together and then met the rest of the group at 5:45.  I felt better than yesterday but still nowhere near 100%.  I am hoping that improvement is near.  It was great to catch up with everyone and hear their Ogden stories.  More massage tonight.

I went and got worked on again last night.  He spent a lot of time on my psoas muscle as well as my inner thigh and quad.   The good news is I felt much improved today but there are still some lingering issues.

Met the BBK's for our Thursday workout.  I felt better then yesterday and made it over 1.5 miles completely pain free - that is .5 farther than yesterday.  The rest of the time there was some pain but not to the point that I could not run - This is a good sign and I hope it continues.  All my miles were easy, I did pick up the pace as the run progressed but still easy miles.  Overall I am pleased.  Two things that I have changes this week, along with my weekly massage sessions, are:

1.  Foam Roller - $18.99 from Target is a bargin.  Using it nightly - nice and slow over my areas of issues but it is helping keep things loose.

2.  I have been more consitent and better about getting some protien in me after my runs.  I had developed a bad habit of not eating until 1 - 1.5 hrs after I was done and running out the door to work.

Met Paula and ran the big block.  No pain for 2 miles but sharp after that.  My leg did not like the hill.

Ran on my own with my ipod - it has been a long time.  I felt great for 3.5 miles before the pain set in but not bad.  I had a good pace.

Hiked to Timp Cave afterwards - I wore my garmin to see how we did but it lost satalite reception quite a bit.  We made it to the top in about 50 minutes which is not bad with 4 kids and the youngest is 5.

Met the BBK's for the Tuesday work out.  We had a 2.5 mile warm up and then ran up to Sky Park and did 1/2 mile repeats.  I was able to stay for 3 and then had to leave.  I was not as tired as I thought but my legs were tired on the repeats and up Glenmore hill.   Pain was off and on but no too bad, more achy.  I get worked on again tonight.

Hilly run with Cheris, Peggy, Julie, Dean, Kris, Lisa, Cheryl and Spencer.  Felt great but I had taken IB before and I think I over did.  We ran 8 hills in preparation for Wasatch Back.
