First long run in months...Since March 1st and I felt it, big time.  Wendy and I are contemplating running the Deseret News Marathon...she wants to BQ and just needs a summer marathon, I need to get back into shape and with work and volleyball, this is about the only marathon I can run.  So we mapped out a run that would give us some hills and down hill...and it was hard and I am out of shape.   Up Lancaster/Camp Bowie/Crestline to RiverCrest, down Hidden Road, the Trail, up Bailey to UNT and then up 7th to Hillcrest and back down Crestline/Camp Bowie/Lancaster.   I am not sure if everyone else thought it was as hard as I did, but my legs were tired.   The plan was for 12, but I had to stop at the store and be done, due to a work commitment.

Splits:  9:19, 8:39, 8:27, 8:19, 8;20, 8:34, 8:30, 8:51 (I think this is up 7th) 8:24, 8:10, 8:27

Avg Pace: 8:33

6 easy miles with Wendy.   Today was hard, my heart rate was high and I was overly tired and our first mile of 9:22 felt like 8:22...not a good sign.   Did out and back from Tom Thumb headed south and found some good down hill.   Avg Pace 8:37

8 miles with Wendy, Megan, Ashley and Tim.   We ran the Arborlawn hill loop x 2, with a mile warm up and mile cool down.  I added on one more to bring the total to 8.   Today was much cooler, but windy.   Amazing how much a 20 degree temp difference can make and the wind was to our backs up the hill.

15 miles with Wendy on a good course that chewed me up.   I felt terrible the first half, high heart rate, side ache, stomach issues  that finally subsided about half-way and then my legs were exhausted the second half.   We ran the Main St. Bridge, down and back up and then spent time on the same route from Thursday.   After two bad long runs, I am hoping next week is better.

In Houston for work and it was hot and muggy - 72 degrees, 90% humidity.   Warm up for 10 min and then 2 min on, 1 off for 30 min and then a 2 mile cool down.   It is done, is about the only good thing.

15 miles with Wendy.   It was 73 degrees and 70%+ humidity...again, not a fun day.   We started at the store and ran up Lancaster, El Campo Pershing unitl Ridgmar and ended up with a good 4.5 mile uphill climb.   We then ran down Ridgmar, 183 and the up the long climb on Roaring Springs.    Once up the top of the hill, this is where we missed the turn on Merrick and headed to far down Pershing and figured a way back to the store.  It was hot, the legs were fried and I was struggling staying focused.   We finished and after three weeks in a row of hard, hilly long runs, I think we need to run a little easier next Saturday and then hit the hills again in two weeks.

After a rough week - lost a day  to rain, lost a day to work and lost a day to flat out laziness, we lost a day because I got sick .5 mile into the run.

Anothe rough long run....at somepoint it has to get better, right?  We had an easier route than previous weeks, but the temp and humidity keep getting worse.  My legs were week and had a hard time climbing hills and when running the last 4 on the trail, I almost lost it.   Avg pace was 8:45 ish
