| | AM-2.5 mile warm up, strides, then a mile time trial with 3 guys. Casey and I have been talking about this for over a month, but today things are finally a little less stressed(Utah now says we're good to meet in groups of up to 20), so we decided today would be a good one. It was pretty windy, and we were all a little nervous due to no speed work prior. Our pacer did a pretty good job, bringing us through 1209 in 3:06. I felt like garbage for the first 600m, but once my legs were used to running quick again I felt great. At 300 to go I tried to go around Casey, but the wind was really bad, so I sat on him and tried to pass him on the last straight. He was 4:08.0 and I was 4:08.1. It was pretty fun, nothing too crazy, but it was a nice change from what we've had.
PM-9.4 miles. I feel like the morning run was longer.

| | Long Run. I forget that 20 miles at deer creek feels harder than 20 anywhere else. But I got it done.

| | AM-14 miles in Smithfield Canyon. This is the farthest I've ran up the canyon. The snow that covered the road the last time I was up there is melted.
PM-Just over 6 miles around Smithfield, to the canyon, to Birch, and back around.

PM-3 mile warm up, an attempt at a 5 mile tempo, then cool down until I was at 11. The goal of the tempo was to start around 5:00, maybe a little slower, and then bring it down to 4:55. I thought this was practical due to tempos being my best workouts. I started and things felt fast, but I just never got into a rythym. First couple miles were 5:01, then the third, which was downhill, was 5:08. I stopped at a porta-potty just after 3, thinking it would be easy to run the last two miles around 10:00. After about 200 meters of killing myself to run slow, I called it a day and finished up my mileage. The finishing up mileage was really slow and tough. I think I forgot to eat enough between my runs and that just left me depleated.

| | AM-13 easy miles up Birch, down Birch, and up Smithfield. Lots of people were camping, which was fun to see.
PM-4 easy miles up Birch and back. Fairly short due to the longer run this morning, but it was much needed to get out of the house.

| | AM-Warm up, strides, felt like garbage, did the first 200m of a workout, still felt like garbage, had a short cool down and called it. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
PM-10 miles on grass and dirt. Kept it flat as I could. Maybe I'm just too fatigued.

PM-10.25. Did half a workout. I felt exhausted before I began, but better than yesterday. 4x800 at 2:10-2:11 with equal recovery. Felt good about hitting those times for how I felt. I wish I could've done a few more, but I was pretty fatigued.

| | AM-3.5 warm up, then 8x1000m with 60 sec recovery. I think the markers were off, but it was very similar to what I had measured(just different starting and ending spots) with my watch. At the end of my warm up, I wondered why use my watch to measure instead of the course's markers, so I ran according to those. 2:40, 2:44, 2:46, 2:45, 2:39, 2:39, 2:38, 2:35. While I felt a ton better than any run last week and this was on dirt and grass instead of only grass, I don't believe the 1000m I was running was accurate, especially with the hill. Regardless, I'm happy I finally felt good going fast again. 3.65 cool down.

| | AM-5 easy miles. Workout this afternoon, so easy for the morning.
PM-4xmile at 4:39, 4:36, 4:32, 4:28. I didn't feel too good, and was surprised that even with 12 mph winds it was tough to run the 4:39. 3.5 warm up, 3 cool down, 600 in between.
PM2-A recent grad from my high school asked me to pace him for an 800. He ran a PB by 5-6 seconds, so even though my pacing was inconsistent, I'll count it as a win.

| | AM-20 mile long run. Planned on 18, which turned into 19.5 when I decided to take a different route because I thought I was at 15 not 16. Then just added on an extra half mile to get a solid number.

| | AM-3.5 easy miles, goal was 8x400, but the wind was pretty bad and I was tired from last week, so I switched it to 10x300. First 400 was 60, 200 at 31, then 300s in 45 or 44. 100m jog/walk in between. 5 miles cool down.
PM-6 miles.

| | AM-10 miles. 1 warm up, 8 at about 5:20 pace. Our watched differed, with mine conistently being 4-5 seconds slower each mile. That's normal for everyone, so we went of Casey's watch. 1 mile cool down.
PM-7.2 miles, first 5 were with Talem.
