| | I haven't posted in a while about training. The last run I completed was great, but I had some hip pain. About an hour after the run, I couldn't walk without a sharp pain. The next week and a half, I couldn't do anything without a sharp pain in my back and hip. I got a couple MRI's before finding it was a sacral stress fracture. Only recently I've been able to cross train without pain in my Sacrum. I had to pull out of the Houston Half Marathon and won't be running the Olympic trials in the marathon either. Now my goals are to try and run the Olympic standards in the 10k and 5k.

| |
| | AM-3750 yards. Was 28 seconds faster overall than on Tuesday. 25 minutes of aqua jogging.
PM-underwater treadmill with Clayton and Cade. This was honestly the best I've felt cross training in a while. No pain after, and I felt like I was getting a good workout in.
| | AM-2000 yards swimming, 30 minutes aqua jogging with 2 minute of "sprinting" intervals at first, then moved to 1 minute.
PM-45 minutes of the underwater treadmill. Felt tired.

PM-7 miles on the alter-g. Not real running, but it was something. 15 minutes biking after, then weights. Less working out than I wanted today.
| | AM-41 minutes on the bike. It was hard.
PM-9 miles on the alter-g. About an hour. Felt good, got up to 85%, so that's progress. 21 mnutes of biking after. Got my heartrate up to the 170s for the last few minutes of biking, and then I felt exhausted the rest of the day. I've also been a bit sick the past couple days, so I might take tomorrow a bit easier.
| | AM-10 minutes of biking. I felt sick and didn't have energy.
PM-93 minutes of underwater treadmill running.
| | AM-1 hour of biking. Felt better than yesterday morning.
PM-10 miles on the alter-g. Averaged between 90-92% body weight.
| | AM-Felt super sick after the run yesterday. The trainers advised me to try the alter-g for a couple miles and if I still felt I couldn't workout then to rest. After mile 2, I felt better and ran up to 10. I ran it all in the 90% weight or higher, and ran the last quarter mile at 100%. That quarter mile felt really heavy, but I had no pain in my sacrum, so while I may not be used to running, my sacrum is at least improving.

| | AM-40 minutes swimming.
PM-11 miles on the alter-g.
| | AM-40 minutes biking,
PM-5.25 miles of running outside with the team. I got the okay from the doctor yesterday. I felt like garbage. I may have hurt somehting running on the alter-g yesterday. Just some calf pain.

| | AM-10 minutes of biking, 10 miles of running.
PM-32 minutes hard on the elliptical.
| | AM-5 easy miles with Talem.
PM-5 easy miles on the treadmill, 5.25 on the underwater treadmill. I would have kept going on the treadmill, but I'm playing it safe. The alter-g hurts my calf and quads just as bad as the regular treadmill, so I just did half on the normal treadmill today.

| | AM-5.25 with Talem
PM-10.5. Coach told me he wanted me to start doing workouts today. I was pumped, but then it was only the first and third of the mile repeats, and it was pretty slow, so it didn't really feel like a mile repeat workout. The first one was a warm up at 4:45, then I rested the next one, and ran with group 2 on the third one and ran 4:34. I'm happy to run that and feel fine.
| | AM-5.25 easy miles with Talem.
PM-8.5 miles with strides.
| | AM-5.25 Easy miles with Talem.
PM-10.5 miles total. I ran a portion of the workout. I did 5x800m and to play it safe, I alternated grass and track. I ran 2:12(track), 2:12(grass), 2:08(track) 2:12(grass) and 2:08(track).

PM-3.7 mile warm up, 10x1000m at intramural field. First few were between 3:00 and 3:05. Then we started going down to 2:57, then 2:54 and 2:51 for the last two. 60 seconds rest in between them. This workout gave me some good conidence coming back, but it did take a lot out more out of me. 2 mile cool down after.

PM-8 easy miles. Planned a workout, but didn't due to the crazy snow and wind that came after our warmup, everyone decided easy mileage today would be fine.
| | AM-15 miles with the boys. Ran 5:57 average pace, and it felt pretty good. Christian Allen joined us. The last few miles were quick.

| | AM-18 mile long run before listening to general conference.
| | AM-6 easy miles before class.
PM-13.5. Lots of stops that led to this feeling like a long run. There were tons of people in the canyon.
| | AM-11 miles. 3 mile pickup, two of the miles were down the canyon. I planned on just doing a 2 mile pickup to get the legs moving and have some fun running fast. After a mile, I decided to go 3. I did it in 13:32, which was faster than I planned, but it felt good to push myself. It was much needed as a mental break from the repetitive easy days.
PM-10k up the canyon and around. Felt good, it was really nice weather, especially compared to all the snow that came last week.
| |
| | AM-Ran in the west side of Smithfield. Lots of dairy cows and fields.
PM-5.25 miles on the USU course.
| | AM-12 easy miles up hte canyon.
PM-no run, decided to start my fast early and cut out this run.
| | PM1-10 miles at 3. Felt pretty tired.
PM2-5 miles. Felt some pain in my neck and collarbone.
| | AM-17.4 mile long run around Logan and Young Ward areas.
PM-3 miles. Should've just finished my long run with a 20 miler, but was being a bit lazy and told myself I would run more later.
| | AM-13.1 miles up with canyon and back. It seems that more and more people are just driving the canyon to get out of the house.
PM-6 miles. Ran on a trail for bit, and got yelled at for not giving the person 6 feet of distance for the fraction of a second that I passed them. Maybe I was in the wrong.
| |
| | AM-6x1000m at 4:40 pace just to get the legs moving, with the last one being picked up to 2:46. Nothing too quick, just trying to add some variety to the easy mileage and hills. Body weight exercises after. Pushup max was 35. Pullup max was 14.
PM-6 miles with 5x20 seconds hard during the last mile.
| | AM-9 miles. Felt like trash.
PM-7.1 easy miles. It rained and snowed heavily from mile 3 to 4, then the weather cleared up and it was really nice. I was still soaked though.
| | AM-3 mile warm up, 8 mile progression run starting around 5:20 and ending at 5:01. 2 mile cool down after. Felt good, the weather was really cold due to the snow and wind until about halfway. Nice run to get the legs moving again.
PM-6 miles up the canyon and back. Felt a bit tired.
| | AM-5 easy miles. I went short in the morning due to a final I'll be taking later.
PM-10 miles up the canyon.
| | AM-Long run. My dad volunteered to bike along side me, which made the run nice. I went around Smithfield, up the canyon, and back. Felt really good, averaged 6:06 pace. It was also nice talking to my old man for a couple hours.
My older brother is training for his first marathon. Today he ran a 15 miler for his long run, and partway through saw stars, stopped, and threw up. He believes it was dehydration and as he is on the side of the road in pain, some lady stops her car and yells, "That's how people get the Corona!" and drives off. Eventually he made it back to his house, got a drink and finished his run and was fine; however, it's sad that she not only didn't have the decency to ask if he was okay, but stopped to try and make him feel bad about throwing up.

PM-8.2 easy miles.
| | AM-13.5. I was invited to run with a couple guys from Tony's grove to Smithfield Canyon. We were dropped off where the road got too snowy to drive on and then ran the next 4 miles to the lake on compact snow. After getting there, the trail was covered by about eight feet of snow(you could see the roofs to bathrooms). After guessing on a trail for a few miles, we came down and hitchhiked back to the valley.
PM-4 easy miles.
| | AM-7 miles with 2x200m all out in 30 and 29. First time really trying to get the legs to go fast in a month. Plus, running it on the road on what I measured on google maps when I was 15 might not be too accurate.
PM-4.2 easy miles.
| | AM-2.5 mile warm up, strides, then a mile time trial with 3 guys. Casey and I have been talking about this for over a month, but today things are finally a little less stressed(Utah now says we're good to meet in groups of up to 20), so we decided today would be a good one. It was pretty windy, and we were all a little nervous due to no speed work prior. Our pacer did a pretty good job, bringing us through 1209 in 3:06. I felt like garbage for the first 600m, but once my legs were used to running quick again I felt great. At 300 to go I tried to go around Casey, but the wind was really bad, so I sat on him and tried to pass him on the last straight. He was 4:08.0 and I was 4:08.1. It was pretty fun, nothing too crazy, but it was a nice change from what we've had.
PM-9.4 miles. I feel like the morning run was longer.
| | Long Run. I forget that 20 miles at deer creek feels harder than 20 anywhere else. But I got it done.
| |
| | AM-14 miles in Smithfield Canyon. This is the farthest I've ran up the canyon. The snow that covered the road the last time I was up there is melted.
PM-Just over 6 miles around Smithfield, to the canyon, to Birch, and back around.
| | AM-7 miles.
PM-3 mile warm up, an attempt at a 5 mile tempo, then cool down until I was at 11. The goal of the tempo was to start around 5:00, maybe a little slower, and then bring it down to 4:55. I thought this was practical due to tempos being my best workouts. I started and things felt fast, but I just never got into a rythym. First couple miles were 5:01, then the third, which was downhill, was 5:08. I stopped at a porta-potty just after 3, thinking it would be easy to run the last two miles around 10:00. After about 200 meters of killing myself to run slow, I called it a day and finished up my mileage. The finishing up mileage was really slow and tough. I think I forgot to eat enough between my runs and that just left me depleated.
| | AM-13 easy miles up Birch, down Birch, and up Smithfield. Lots of people were camping, which was fun to see.
PM-4 easy miles up Birch and back. Fairly short due to the longer run this morning, but it was much needed to get out of the house.
| |
| | AM-Warm up, strides, felt like garbage, did the first 200m of a workout, still felt like garbage, had a short cool down and called it. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
PM-10 miles on grass and dirt. Kept it flat as I could. Maybe I'm just too fatigued.
| | AM-5 miles
PM-10.25. Did half a workout. I felt exhausted before I began, but better than yesterday. 4x800 at 2:10-2:11 with equal recovery. Felt good about hitting those times for how I felt. I wish I could've done a few more, but I was pretty fatigued.
| | AM-20 mile long run. No pickup, but averaged just under 6:00.
| | AM-12.75 up Smithfield Canyon, and then strides after.
PM-6.4 on the Steve and Donna Reeder cross country course.
| | AM-3.5 warm up, then 8x1000m with 60 sec recovery. I think the markers were off, but it was very similar to what I had measured(just different starting and ending spots) with my watch. At the end of my warm up, I wondered why use my watch to measure instead of the course's markers, so I ran according to those. 2:40, 2:44, 2:46, 2:45, 2:39, 2:39, 2:38, 2:35. While I felt a ton better than any run last week and this was on dirt and grass instead of only grass, I don't believe the 1000m I was running was accurate, especially with the hill. Regardless, I'm happy I finally felt good going fast again. 3.65 cool down.
PM-6.4 in Provo
| | AM-13.2 with Milly and Micah. It was great catching back up.
PM-4.1 easy miles.
| | AM-5 easy miles. Workout this afternoon, so easy for the morning.
PM-4xmile at 4:39, 4:36, 4:32, 4:28. I didn't feel too good, and was surprised that even with 12 mph winds it was tough to run the 4:39. 3.5 warm up, 3 cool down, 600 in between.
PM2-A recent grad from my high school asked me to pace him for an 800. He ran a PB by 5-6 seconds, so even though my pacing was inconsistent, I'll count it as a win.
| | AM-6 easy miles. Felt like garbage from yesterday.
PM-8 easy miles up the canyon and back.
| | AM-20 mile long run. Planned on 18, which turned into 19.5 when I decided to take a different route because I thought I was at 15 not 16. Then just added on an extra half mile to get a solid number.
| | AM-3.5 easy miles, goal was 8x400, but the wind was pretty bad and I was tired from last week, so I switched it to 10x300. First 400 was 60, 200 at 31, then 300s in 45 or 44. 100m jog/walk in between. 5 miles cool down.

| | AM-10 miles. 1 warm up, 8 at about 5:20 pace. Our watched differed, with mine conistently being 4-5 seconds slower each mile. That's normal for everyone, so we went of Casey's watch. 1 mile cool down.
PM-7.2 miles, first 5 were with Talem.

PM-4 miles.
| | AM-Ran a 3200m time trial in 8:42. Motivation wasn't super high, but it was a good run for being at altitude. Goal was sub-8:40, but at 400m to go I was at 7:39. 12 mile cool down. 3 miles before.

| | AM-Lake Loop tempo. We did a new lake loop, so that meant we went off GPS watches. This isn't my favorite, because every watch I've used, unlike others I run with, say that the wheel is short. We ran in trainers and Milly took us out in 4:38 for the first mile. My watch said I averaged 4:50, but Clayton's distance would've had me at 4:47ish. It was about 5.14 in distance due to the new change of running the river trail.
PM-6 miles in Bear Lake.

| | AM-10 miles in Garden City.
PM-6 miles in Smithfield Canyon.

| | AM-13 miles.
PM-6.3 miles.
| | AM-Mile breakdown. Went 4:27, 3:18, 2:07, 59 or something like that. I'm putting this up a bit too late and forgot it.

KT Tape St. George Showdown (3.107 Miles) 00:13:51, Place overall: 3, Place in age division: 3 | | AM-Good race, not great. Lots of moves made when they shouldn't have been, and lots of good opportunities to run smarter were missed. 11 miles after.
| | AM-14 miles. This was Danny Carney's last run with us. I'm pretty bummed he's gone now.
PM-6 easy miles of grass loops.
| | AM-11 miles.
PM-6.3 easy miles.
| | AM-10 easy miles.
PM-8 miles. I ran over to Intramural Field to run with Aaron, then Clayton and Milly came, so we did a lap with them, but everything ended up being longer than I thought, so it ended up being 8 miles. I'm fine with that.
| | AM-10.90 miles on the Bonnville Shoreline Trail. This run is always tough for me, but I kow it's great for summer mileage.
PM-5.4 miles. I ran with Talem and Will, and we saw Brandon, one of our throwers, practicing for the hammer.
| | AM-10 miles at Fire Road. Definitely wasn't good for my achilles that first mile. It was a good run though. We talked about the regional steeplechase in 2018 and we all remembered it differently.
PM-5.1 miles, mostly grass loops. It was hot.
| | AM-Long run. I ran with Clayson on the other Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Today was pretty tough after a couple miles We started at 7:00 AM, but it still felt really hot. I definitly didn't hydrate enough leading up to this run.
| | AM-14 miles with the boys.
PM-5.75 miles. I waited for people to show up, but I was on my own. I saw Milly finishing up his run and ran about a quarter mile with him.
| | AM-11 miles with Aaron and Aidan.
PM-6 miles with Clayton.
| | AM-10 miles at Spanish Fork.
PM-6.4 easy miles.
| | AM-10.45 miles. Ran Carterville, but started at my apartment. Felt really tired at the end, so I asked Michael for a ride home.
PM-6.41 miles, mostly grass loops.
| | AM-12.25 miles. Happy Pioneer Day everyone.
PM-Just over 4 miles on my own.
| | AM-Long run. Ran in Mapleton, started pretty slow, eventually had a few sub-6 miles. Felt good, but a bit tired.
| | AM-14 miles.
PM-6.25 miles with Doc and his son.
| | AM-10.75 miles. We ran the Bonneville Shoreline trail.
PM-6.82 miles. Did strides with Talem. Felt really fast on them, ran a 100 with Talem who was doing 200s in 25. Felt great.
| | AM-11.4 miles with the team. I felt some Achilles pain, probably from the strides yesterday.
PM-5.1 miles. Started dreaming about running those Olympic standards, which made my pace go a bit quicker than it should have.
| | AM-10.7 miles at the Provo River Trail.
PM-6.2 miles. They locked the gate to the track before we got there again.
| | AM-10.66 miles. Due to Achilles pain, I didn't run fire road with most of the guys, but Clayton and Michael were there, which was nice.
PM-5 miles in SLC on the way home. My car is having trouble, so my mom picked me up when she was passing through, but she had lots of stops, so I ran from the Costco in SLC.
| | AM-Long run. Ran from USU's track to the canyon and back, around campus, then did some loops around the Steve and Donna Reeder Cross Country course. Spence Nelson, JD, Justin, and James were all there, so it was nice to catch up with them.
| |
| | AM-14.25 miles with Clayton and Dallin.
PM-6.25 miles wiht Dallin and Will. We had a debate on which was better, cookies or donuts. I'd say donuts, but it does seem like everyone in Provo likes cookies more.
| |
| | AM-12.1 miles. Started with Dallin for the first two miles, then met the team and ran the river trail.
PM-5.5 miles with Talem and Aiden Carlson.
| | AM-8x1000m at Intramural with 60 seconds rest. It a bit wet, so I thought it would be slow, but it wasn't too bad. We started as a pack at 3:07, 3:04, 3:03, 3:02, and then we were given the okay to let it be a bit quicker and went 2:59, 2:59. After this, instead of doing 10, it became 8, so we ran 2:54 and 2:52. Felt good and smooth.
PM-6.14 miles at Intramural. Lots of stops to time Will doing 6x1000m. It was hot.
| | AM-11 miles. Ran Carterville extended.
PM-6 miles.
| |
| | AM-20.1 miles at Jeremy Ranch. Saw three people ahead of us that looked quick at about 7.5, so Aidan Carlson and I did a fast 400 at about 62 to catch up. It wasn't supposed to be that quick, but they sped up when we were coming. It ended up being a bunch of high school athletes, but they just looked older and quicker.
| | AM-Walmart loop extended a bit. 11 miles. I hate walmart loop, but the freshman wanted to run something new.
PM-6 miles.
| | AM-3.5 warm up, 6 mile tempo in trainers in 29:51, 3.75 mile cool down. I didn't feel too great, and knew that I was the only one going 6 didn't help. The group started slow, about 5:00, and it just felt a bit junky. Yesterday I learned the season probably won't happen, so I signed up for a 10k in LA in two weeks. This doesn't help my confidence.
PM-5 miles with Garrett.
| | AM-11.4 miles with the guys.
PM-5.1 miles with strides.
| | AM-3.4 mile warm up, 2x(mile, 1200, 800) with jog recovery for equal time, 3 mile cool down. My splits were something like 4:23, 3:15, 2:06, 4:27, 3:19, 2:08. I just felt dead after the first set. I actually never felt in rythym either. Still a bit scared for the race in two weeks.
PM-5 miles on my own.
| | AM-18 miles at Deer Creek with Milly.
| | AM-13.15 miles. Felt tired.
PM-6.1 miles.
| | AM-warm up, 6 mile tempo in cheater shoes. Jake's watch was about 200m shorter than mine, so subtract 35 seconds going with his watch. Milly's was .06 or .07 shorter, so subtract 17 for his. 28:31 for my watch. Felt good, this is good for my confidence, but might not be the best thing before a race next week.
PM-5.3 easy miles.
| | AM-12.25 miles.
PM-5.18 miles.
| | AM-8x400 with 90 seconds rest. This is usually one of my worst workouts. With 4 of us (Jake, Milly, Clayton and I), we all only had to lead 2 of them. I actually felt really good in all of them. Started out at 59.6, and was around 60.0 to 60.3 on most of them. 7 was 59.6 again, and 8 was a 57. Felt really good.
PM-5 miles.
| | AM-11 miles. I'm trying to add up mileage, and this may have been my only run this day. I'm really backlogged on the blog. Weird if this was my only run.
| | AM-workout. 3 mile warm up, strides, two mile tempo in 9:50, and then I started to head to the track for the real portion of the workout. As I was running, I felt a strong and sharp pain in my hip. I went from running to the track, to running slow, to walking for a bit, to standing, to sitting in pain. Lots of pain. After getting it stretched, rolled out, and massaged, I still hope I can race this week.
| | AM-8 miles to be safe. All was on the treadmill just in case. Only a little sore.
PM-5.1 miles easy. Still felt slow and off. Ran in Sandy with the team for camp.
| | AM-warm up, 400, 800, 2x400, and then cool down. 65, 2:07, 60, 60
PM-4 miles after floating the provo river as our team activity.
| | AM-7 miles. I forgot my wallet at home and was a bit late to leave for the airport. Luckily we were good.
PM-4.5 miles around where we had the conference meet last year. I didn't feel good at all.
| | AM-4.17 miles on a dirt area with Nico and his coach.
PM-3.18 miles with strides.

| Race: |
Sunset Tour 10000m (6.214 Miles) 00:28:07, Place overall: 4, Place in age division: 4 | | PM-2 mile shakeout at noon or 1. I can't remember.
Race-We raced at 9 or 10. It was really late. Warmed up well, just expected this to be like Stanford, where you just sit and hold on to the pack for most of it. Well, it's been too long since I've been in a race like this, and I got a terrible start. I was 2nd to last for the first lap and ran a 69. For someone trying to average 67.0, that's a bad start. After that I ran a 68. Eventually I got in my groove, started passing people, and I caught up to Clayton after 4-5 66s. We were 8:54 at 3200m, so that was on pace, but after a few laps of leading the chase pack (I was too far behind the front pack of Cheserek and Milly to make up the gap), I started struggling. I'm not sure what it was, but I felt like crap. At 5,200m, Zach Panning took the lead of our pack because I ran a 70(!), so I sat on him and tried to regain what I could. We were 14:03 at 5k, which was not good because we were slowing. at 6,800m, Panning made another move and I got passed by most of the pack. I hung on, and with 400m to go, had enough to kick it in to run 28:07 and beat all but one from the pack. It wasn't my best race. I really didn't feel too great at all in the race. I never had a pop in my legs or any feeling that I could get moving. I'll take it, because it's a PR and there isn't anything else I can do about it, but it was a bit of a bummer to come all the way out to California and not 1. run the time I wanted and 2. not go with the leaders. Good experience I guess, but it's the same mistake I make a lot in track.
| |
| | AM-12.51 miles.
PM-8.72 miles. It almost adds up. Probably too far for 2 days after a 10k and a night of little sleep (early morning flight after the 10k + 10k gut). Also, first day of school, and, as always, I don't eat enough.
| | AM-5 miles.
PM-3xmile at K park. Ran 4:42, 4:42, and 4:38. A good 3xmile after the 10,000m. Definitley not recovered, but it felt pretty easy and I felt like I could've done 4.
| | AM-10.5 miles.
PM-7 miles.
| | AM-Due to class in the afternoon, I worked out with Jared and Clayton. Jared is fit, and I was not recovered enough from the 10,000m to run this workout, but I did. We did the marathon Michigan workout, which just adds a mile on the grass before you start. 4:59, 4:25, 4:48, 3:16, 4:46, 2:08, 4:42, 60, 4:45. My calves were burning by the 1,200m. I'm surprised Coach had me run this, but he knows best.
PM-5 miles.
| | AM-10 miles. Last Friday.
PM-5 miles.
| | AM-Long run in Sandy/Draper area. Lots of hills, and I was really sore and tired.
| | AM-14 miles while my dad followed me on a bike. We went up Smithfield Canyon. I'm grateful he came with me. It was a nice way to break up working out and running in Provo.
PM-6 miles still in Smithfield. My parents encouraged me to stay a few more hours due to the fires making the air quality in Provo horrible. I'm happy I did.
| | AM-5 miles.
PM-11.8 miles for 2x(mile, 1200, 800) at intramural field. It was pretty windy. 4:45, 3:25, 2:12, 4:34, 3:22, 2:11. I'm sure that we cut some of the corners as time went on, but the second 1,200m felt really quick.
| | AM-10.29 miles with Botteson. A bit quicker than we should've gone.
PM-6.29 miles with Easton.
| | AM-5 miles.
PM-4 mile warm up, 4 mile team race, 2.5 cool down. Everything was a bit over to get it to 16 total. Race didn't really feel too great, but it was fun. Casey had a hard sprint down the hill, and I regretted wearing flats, as I never could match his turnover at that part. I closed most of the 30m gap at the end, but it was too big for the last hundred meters.
| | AM-10.72 miles.
PM-7.53 miles.
| | AM-Long run. Up Hog's Hollow, and around the trails. There were tons of bikers. Beautiful trails. Went 9 out, and planned only 20, but Clayson decided to go 20, so he told Adam and I we could go back on a different trail. That trail added more than 2 miles, and instead added 4.5. I was exhausted, but it was a good run, and one of the only ones where I felt really good. I did feel a bit dehydrated though. 22.51 miles, 2:30:30, 2274 feet elevation gain.
| | AM-13.1. Not feeling too great. I woke up at 2:45 AM on Sunday and never fell back asleep. Just over 5 hours of sleep isn't enough. Typically, I feel tired after less than 9.
PM-7.2
| | AM-5
PM-Hobblecreek with cool down. Ran in 44:45, 6 seconds faster than last year. Last year was 68 degrees, today was 88. Instead of the middle 15 minutes being power run effort, they were closer to tempo effort. 15-LR effort, 20-Tempo effort, 10-Harder than tempo effort. Didn't have the energy to speed up on the last one.
| | AM-4x2 mile. Warm up was 3.4 5 minutes in between each set, some of which was jogged. Ran 9:14, 9:18, 9:11, 9:14, running a fish-hook like route by lake loop. Just over 2 miles of cool down after. I did wear cheater shoes and the weather was nice.
PM-6 miles on the grass.
Soon I'll hopefully catch up on the last couple months.
| | AM-10.3 easy miles.
PM-5 miles.
| | AM-Long run. 18.2 at rail trial. I planned to go 20, but fatigue sat in early, and the wind made the last few miles less than enjoyable.
| |
| | AM-13.20 with Michael.
PM-7.42 miles. Ran out with the guys for just over 3 miles, did a loop on the grass area, strides, and ran back.
Also, I finally caught back up after nearly missing the month of August.
| | AM-6.17 miles with Talem, Michael, and Aiden.
PM-10x1000m. 2:58, 3:01, 2:59, 3:00, and then I can't remember the rest. Last few were 2:57-58.
| | AM-9.1 easy miles.
PM-5.3 miles with strides.
| | AM-4.65 easy miles with Aiden.
PM-3.4 miles. A time trial/race with the team. Nothing too big, but a hard push with the team. Averaged 4:42 for the ~4.4/4.5 miles. Cool down after.
| | AM-10.4 easy miles with the guys.
PM-8 miles.
| | AM-Hope to Hobble Long run.
| | AM-13.6 with Dallin, Milly, and Michael.
PM-6.8 miles with strides.
| | AM-6.5 easy miles.
PM-3.1 warm up, 3x2 mile(going off watches instead of typical wheel, so ~20 seconds slower than when wheeler) at intramural field. Ran 9:23, 9:22, 9:21. First one Milly was with me for the first 1.5 miles, second one Casey caught me in the last 50m, and third one was paced well with Casey. On the second one I went out way too hard, but had enough time in the bank to still run 9:22.
| | AM-10.6 with Luke Pabst, Botteson, and Adam Wood.
PM-7 miles. We ran the river trail, which makes it a bit harder to go to the track and run strides. No strides today, just lots of easy running.
| | AM-5.3 miles. I felt pretty tired.
PM-3 mile warm up, 5 mile tempo in 24:08 (4:55, 4:54, 4:48, 4:47, 4:41), 2.7 mile cool down. Coach had Casey as the govenor for the first two miles, then Milly and I began pushing the pace. Casey took the lead for part of the last mile. Good workout.
| | AM-11.4 easy miles. Ran with Doc Hunter for the first 3.5, then turned around with him and then the rest of the guys caught up, and I turned back with them.
PM-6.15 miles.
| | AM-18.1 miles. I felt a bit tired at the end, and decided to just do 18. I probably should've done 20, but it's alright.
| | AM-5.5 easy miles.
PM-6-8x800m at K park all uphill. I didn't feel too great on the warm up. Had a few issues with having to go to the bathroom. First one was 2:20, second one I didn't finish, but just went to the bathroom. The next few didn't go too great, so I just stayed with Casey. Averaged 2:19 I think. With the hills, turns and how I felt, I count it as a good workout.
| | AM-10.3. Still felt a bit sick, but the COVID test that we had to get for the race next week still came back negative.
PM-6.3 easy miles with strides. Didn't feel great.
| | AM-2x[mile, 1200, 800] at a wet intramural field. Couldn't get moving, but stayed with Milly and switched leading each time. Effort was there. Times were 4:42, 3:26, 2:12, 4:38, 3:24/25, 2:12. Long warm up, long cool down.
PM-5.5 miles watching the other guys workout. They looked fit.
| | AM-11 miles. Felt alright, still slow.
PM-5.1 miles. I felt good, but kept it slow.
| | AM-18 miles at Jeremy Ranch. Not too quick, but I did overdo it on mileage.
| | AM-6.84
PM-2x2 mile. First was at tempo at Intramural field. We went off the wheel today, which I prefer. 9:40. Second one we had a fast 800 (goal was 2:15), tempo mile (goal was 4:50), and faster finish 800 (goal was 2:15). We were 2:12 at 800, 4:51 for the tempo mile, and 2:15 for the finish. When we passed coach at the start of the last lap he reminded us to not kill ourselves, so we chilled at 2:15.
| | AM-6.7 miles
PM-11.3 miles.
| | AM-5 easy miles.
PM-mile tempo, 2x800, 2x400 on grass track and then on track. 4:40(g), 2:10(g), 2:08(t), 61(g), 59(t).
| | AM-8.45 on the course. It looks sweet and I'm excited to race here. Some quad pain again, which makes me a bit nervous. Felt some quad pain, and had our trainer look at it. I also felt it a few weeks ago, but this feels a bit worse.
PM-3.1 easy miles on the treadmill.

| | AM~3200 yards swimming.
PM-65 minutes on bike, then core/rehab.

| | AM-121 minutes of biking. Kept the heart rate average at 141.

PM-1 hour bike. Did a workout, like I did on the bike yesterday, but I can't remember what it was.

| | AM-Slower swim. 3,600 yards in 1 hour. Felt tired from everything going on.
PM-1 hour 5 minutes on the Arc trainer. I went pretty hard.
| | AM-1:55 on the arc trainer. Felt exhausted the rest of the day and didn't do anything else. Good week, most of the biking times were over 1 hour, I just didn't write it down, but I know at minimum they were an hour. Overall, a very good week workout wise, but I can't wait to run again.
| | AM-1 hour swim. 3,650 yards. Felt like I was going quicker than Friday, but when I took a break at 50 minutes, I saw my pace was slow, so I picked it up for the last 10.
PM-40 minutes~~6 miles in the underwater treadmill. I tried to kkeep the pace quick. 10 minutes of core and mobility exercises after. Not what I wanted for today, but classes and assignments kept me busy.
| | AM-65 minutes of aqua jogging (3 min hard, 30 second easy), with progressively more time with hands out of the water. Since I don't aqua jog with a water belt, this gets pretty difficult. Weights after, then 20 minutes biking, and 6 miles on the underwater treadmill.
| | AM-60 minutes on the bike. Kept it more relaxed than normal.
PM-65 minutes on the bike, a little harder than the morning. Quads are super sore.

PM-10 miles on the alter-g with it working. 40 minutes on the bike after.
| | AM-6 miles of running outside, then 60 minutes hard on the bike. Outside running was great!
| | AM-~4 mile walk, then 6 mile run.
PM-60 minutes of core and strength training.
| | AM-8 miles of running in 45 minutes. Started at 6:10 and progressively sped up.
PM-2 mile hike.
| | AM-10 miles in 59 minutes. My calves were sore, but it was great to be running again. All these runs the past few days have been at Lloyd's Lake in Monticello so that I could stay on a fairly flat area of only soft surface.
| | AM-1 hour on the bike. I went pretty hard.
PM-9.1 miles of running. I didn't feel great, but it may have been something I ate.
| | AM-1 hour on the arc trainer. I kept my heart rate above 160 for a 30 minute "tempo" period, and the cool down it was pretty close to above that too. I felt exhausted after. Usually on a good day of cross training, my heart rate peaks in the 150s or 160s, so to average over 160 was a great day for me.
PM-10.4 miles outside. I felt exhausted, probably because of all the days I've been running or the arc trainer workout.
| | AM-1 hour of biking. I kept it easier than usual.
PM-8.4 miles
| | AM-1 hour on the stationary bike.
PM-8 miles. My class went long, so I had to keep my run quick to make our lifting workout. 25:30 for the first half, 22:00 for the second half.
| | AM-1 mile on the bike.
PM-8 miles outside. Felt good.
| | AM-13 miles. I felt great, did a short pickup for a mile in 5:03.
| | AM-9.15 miles
PM-1 hour on the bike/arc trainer. Kept my heart rate above 150bpm.
