Today was a good run until after I was done running. I ran seven miles at 08:36.00 pace; I had to slow down a little because my right leg was bothering me. I Felt good and was proud of myself, then after word I had to go the bathroom and that is what scared me. I have blood in my urine. Now I am scared really scared. I called my wife who is a RN and asked her what to do and she told my that my prostate had some how been bothered and that I would be ok. She just told me to keep checking and see if I still have blood in my urine and it should clear up. So I guess I will see later on if it does or not. Thanks for reading and have a great day!!

I've heard that long runs can cause some bleeding in men. Hopefully some other guy runners can help you out here ;) Maybe post it to the discussion board.

Good run, great mileage last week and I hope everything is okee dokee :D

Not good, not good at all. I have to stop running for three to four days. :(.. My kidney are operating at half. So i was told no exercising at all. My body is eating my muscle and that is some of the reason why i have blood.

So sorry to hear this Barry! The latest Runner's World magazine has an article about this and as far as I remember it says it's not that bad, although of course it is scary; I'll find it and will send you what it says.

Barry, that sounds pretty serious... and you don't have many of the other symptoms...

Here's what Runner's world (UK edition, page 43, September 08) says: Q: After a recent marathon, I noticed blood in my urine. What's caused this? Cause: when you run long, cells in the kidneys may leak and bleed," says Dr Lewis Maharam, medical director of the NY Road runners. "The bladder can also suffer minor injury on the run." But there isn't any need for concern; no serious damage is done. Solution: If you know you are prone to this, Maharam advises against scheduling doctor's appointments until 48 hours after a long run. Blood in your urine could alarm an unsuspecting doctor. If you notice that your urine is still off-colour 48 hours after a run, see your doctor to rule out other issues...

It seems to me you have not to worry quite yet... but of course, it can never hurt to check with an expert! Good luck!

Well, thank you very much that helps a lot. I think i will still take a few days off from running and see how i feel after that. I really do not have any other systems, but the blood. I think my body is not use to me running so much and for so long. So a little rest will not hurt. I think any way... Are you feeling any better?
