What a day... My body decided to get sick on mile two instead of mile three. So I used the time to get a drink and other stuff.  So my pace today was 06:57.17. I think I feel the medicine working, but I am not sure. I do pray that by body will be better by the race next week.

What type of sickness do you have. See glycogen is what stores in the muscle and this is produced by the foods you eat. Which are grain, wheat, pasta, potatoes, like spaghetti, Bagels, banannas, fruit.

Post to the blog "Air Darkhorse" he's actually formed his on business to train athletes via email. I would get a hold of him and have him train you. His rates for training I'm sure are not that high. I ran with him in Arizona and he is awesome. Tell him I sent you to him.

He's actually become a good friend of mine.

Hey Barry, sorry to hear about your stomach. I think a coach would be great for you - you are on the verge of either making a big breakthrough or wearing yourself down ... someone with experience can make sure it is the former. Personally, I think you should slow down some -- you don't need to run fast every day, it is just as important to let your body recover as it is to make it work hard and run hard. I will be cheering you on (from afar) in your race next weekend!! Between now and then you need to take it easy and stay healthy.

Thank you for your help. My problem is I run on the treadmill and I usually get board and want to run faster. Also, I usually run during my lunch and need to get back to work. But I am looking into a trainer right now. My cousin (Kory Wheatley) told me about one and I have contacted him. Thank you for cheering me even though it is from afar. But I do have a question for you, when you are a week away from a race how much do you cut back on your running? I was thinking about cutting my mileage in half. What do you think?

Personally, I have found cutting back that much does not make me "fresh" - I would cut back about 75%, and do some "faster" strides on Wednesday (about 25 second bursts of speed - about 5 of them) to keep your legs "primed". Cut back more at the end of the week, but still try to run about 30 mins/day (try to run more slowly - it will pay off come Saturday!).
