Boy, was my legs soar today! I ran six miles at a 7:58 pace with an 0.5 incline. I am going to try to run this afternoon, but i am not sure how that will go. Anyway try to have a Great New Years Eve day.

Afternoon: Nice easy run of four miles at a 8:36 pace with no incline. I felt a lot better running slower.

Hi Barry,

Nice run yesterday! When doing doubles you need to be careful. Most elite runners will run their second (or first) run very slowly and lower mileage than their other run (e.g., usual at the beginning is 4 + 6/8/10), especially when you are first starting out with them. Try varying your pace a little, run most of your runs a little slower and you will soon see your faster runs get even faster. I am not that fast, but I have not missed a run because of injury in over 4 years (and I believe the ability to be consistent is the most important part of improving). Running, at least for me, is something I want to be able to do forever, so it is ok to make slower improvements (life is a marathon not a sprint). Didn't you have a coach for a while?

Thank you very much. I did have a trainer, but we never started the training of two a day running. But what you said was really good, so thank you very much!
