Pretty good run overall.  We did the tramp run and then were gonna play some Whonketball but we decided to run down the murdock canal trail instead which was lame.  Then we cut through a back yard to get to this little side trail that would then hook back up to the canal later. We ran to the canal and headed back.  Then did some strides.  My legs felt much better when we were doing strides than the day before grass relays when we did strides. Hopefully that means that my legs will stay feeling good.

Ran Pre region today.  Started out nice and slow but then we picked it up.  I didn't feel too good.  I'm going in to the doctors to see if I can finally be fixed ever since my track injury.  So overall really disappointing.  But shout out to my team for winning it.  Super shout out to Craik for being our sixth man and winning the tie breaker over AF's 6th dude.

Today I left at lunch to get my blood checked by I don't really think that it is the main problem cuz my legs hurt but might as well.  Then on our run we did Bonneville and then on the way back we stopped at Heritage Park in Cedar Hills and one of the Seminary teachers were coaching his sons soccer team so he asked if we wanted to race them.  We said sure. So we "raced" the little kids (like 6 years old) and they destroyed us.  They are going to be great xc runners when they are of age.  Galen got a close second place but just behind their top runner.

To AF and back plus strides.  Good times.  Some of the results came back from my blood test, iron was on the high end of normal, hemoglobin was high.  B12 and feretin haven't come in yet but I'm guessing they'll be fine also.

Warmed up for the race after watching some of the other races. Then we got lined up for the race. We started off and I went out. First mile was 5:10, second 5:23, and third 5:48. Felt pretty awful like all the rest of the races so ryan is gonna have me take a week off trying to get better.

Wasn't feeling good today and we got back from Colorado.  I had a stuffy nose and sore throat but ran 3 miles.  It was pretty hard.  Average pace was 7:23. Definitely not feeling how I used to.

Not real running but had to ref some soccer games.  Word came back from the doctor that I was low in ferritin so it should be an easy fix.  Hopefully that is the only thing wrong.

Nice day to come back to.  Even though I have a minor cold it was a good run cuz we did tag so if I wasn't feeling well I could just slow down a bit.  Then afterwards we ran down to art dye and back.  Hopefully this ferritin stuff will fix me up so I can be back to performing.

Classic pre race tradition for this season, down to AF and back plus strides.  I don't know if I'm racing yet so I may and I may not. Ryan had said I wasn't going to but he may have changed his mind.

Ran with the team on their warmup for the race and also on their cool down as well as by my self adn with the JV kids on their warm up and cool down.  I also ran around part of the course at a quicker pace just for fun.

No official running because I had the ACT then straight from there I went to Ref soccer then 45 minutes later I'm going to Sadie's, a school dance.  So I'll hard core dance and reffing soccer and count that as mileage.  If I get home before midnight I may go run some cuz I like late night runs.

It was a good time.  At the first on the warm up my knees were hurting a bit but after we warmed up enough they felt fine.  We headed to the grass field after 2 mile warm up then set up an 800 meter course then headed off on the first one.  Felt ok on the first and ran 2:28.  Next 3 I felt excellent and ran 2:25ish I think then 2:23 then 2:24.  Then the next one I got a small side stitch and ran 2:27.  Then Ryan said that since I haven't done speed in over a week that I was gonna do one more then be done.  I asked if I should go fast but he said consistent so I hit 2:22.  It felt really nice.  Then the rest of them did the last one while I ran a lap just slowly.  Then we cooled down 2.5ish miles.

Shout out to Jamison and Galen who ran 2:15 and 2:16 on their last one.

Went on a distance run.  We did the alpine loop.  My nose started bleeding which was obnoxious.  We headed down on alpine highway which for about 1/2 a mile we were going around 5:25 pace which was fun.  I felt great doing that.  But then after we slowed down then my shin hurt a little bit but I'm gonna ice it.  I also reffed but didn't put in any mileage for it.  But I reffed one game and then got ready for a second and it was cancelled because of lightning delay so I earned $50 in an hour of work which was awesome.

Tough workout today.  We did 5x600 meter hills.  I hit 1:57, 1:55, 1:57, 1:56, 1:52.  My stomach hurt so it was really tough. Then after that we went and did 3x400.  I hit 67, then 65, then 62.  It was really tough.  It was active recover after each thing plus warm up and cool down so we got lots of mileage.  Then I had to go ref some soccer games which got me about an extra mile.  But I'm not counting it on the blog.  Gonna do some hard strength training cuz I have slacked off a little bit on it.

Did a modest run today.  I ran around the lake a decent amount of time so I got good mileage.  Plus I got a lot of fast mileage cuz I chased spencer for a bit and seth chased me for a long time.  It was good.  Then we went on a cool down but I had to turn back a bit early cuz I had to ref soccer. I reffed U15 so I had to run a decent amount cuz they were really agressive. But I didn't count it.  Gonna do more core today.

Pre race norm. Today I had to do a 6 hour block of spanish only which was tough.  I went to my friend's who was also doing it and we played super smash bros. and shouted at each other in spanish which was fun. Then we went and played some soccer which got me more mileage.  Then we had the pasta party and we played football and the juniors were the supreme team.  We beat the other dudes which was a lot of fun.

Got to the race and cheered on the JV.  Then watched Josh my brother race in the 7th man varsity race.  Then warmed up feeling a bit bad but not terrible.  Warmed up while Craik was running who had a 200 meter lead on second place.  Then we started off about a minute before Justin finished his leg, in first.  We got out, one guy pushing the pace way to hard so I just chilled back.  We got to the first hill and I was in 5th, passed 2 people going up the hill, then on the next hill which was right next to it I took the lead. Then just let myself go down the hill.  Then just went around the course.  At a mile and a half in I got a bad side ache but I had a good lead on the other guys that it was fine and I was able to keep a decent lead.  Then on the last hill my side ache finally went away and was able to cruise up the hill and down it to the finish.  Not the time I wanted but I was happy, first race back I won in my division. So I was happy about that.  Then I did a 17 minute cool down, then decided to go with Jamison and galen on their cool down.  Got a total of 6 miles cool down and it felt really good. I'm excited for bob firman.

Good time today.  I finally feel like I'm coming back and getting energy.  I was able to kill the workout.  We did 7x800.  It was really hot so it was tough and the grass was a bit muddy so it slowed it down plus a U turn but it was really good.  I ran 2:27, 2:25, 2:26, 2:25, 2:24, 2:25, 2:20.  I led most of them after about 200 meters in.  I felt good.  Jamison didn't look like he was feeling too good and neither did Galen but they still did pretty good for not feeling all that great.  Also did some strength with Courtney cuz she doesn't believe that we don't do it at home.

Had some good chases in the game.  Spencer King chased me for a while and some others did as well so I got a lot of fast miles.  It was fun. We went a mile out then to the pond then did tag then did 2 mile cool down.  Felt pretty good.  I stayed clear of all bushes cuz I hit some poison ivy a while ago and it has bothered me for a while. Craik also got stung by a bee so he might end up swelling up really big again.

2 mile warm up 8x400. Then two mile cool down. Today for lunch I had 5 pieces of pizza plus a ton of oreos and could feel it in my last 3 400's.  I ran 67 66 65 64 64 67 71 71.  I was hurting on the last 2 bad but oh well.  Ice bath afterwords.

Bob Firman.  Went and warmed up 2 miles.  Raced. 3 mile cool down.  Race started out fast but I got caught in the back.  Went to move up and had to swerve which added lots of extra distance.  Also had to breath in the dust kicked up.  Got 4th on team.  Still not doing so well like I've wanted to and know I should be able to.  If I was at what I'm supposed to be and seth and Justin felt good we would have been up there competing for first.  I need to figure out completely what is wrong with me.

Was supposed to be 8 easy miles but we ran up the canyon at a nice pace with craik in the back so he didn't push the pace. Then we were at the top, let people stretch then we saw amanda coming down and we went down with her.  She was going 5:50 pace so we went that pace.  When we reached the bottom we regrouped the guys cuz we lost a lot of them while Amanda ran back to the school.  My knee was tightening up and it started hurting a lot.  It tightened a ton in that break so I had to walk a bit and then I kind of jogged in.  I iced it and rolled up above it hoping it will get better.

I'm really struggling right now with this running.  My body has nothing left.  My knee hurts, my lungs aren't getting full breaths of air, my muscles aren't supporting me, my abs are not supporting me, it just seems like nothing is there. So really bad workout and run.

Some pretty easy miles.  Did two for warmup, then two games of tag then two miles then a mile barefoot.  It was a good time.  My legs felt good today but I was still breathing weird.
