| Fun run at 1 in the morning in Alpine. Mostly stayed on roads but went by aviary, which was decently packed down. After a quick stop at a porta-potty 1.5 miles in, I've felt better than I had in a while. Great first run of the year. 2015 was a good year. Not to many pr's, but I learned a lot from injury prevention, racing strategies and other fun stuff. Looking forward to an awesome 2016!! |

| Good run today. Actually did the distance coach said to. Just went on the canal. At 1 point I saw 2 guys behind me about 200 yards and they were running pretty quick. So I picked up the pace so they couldn't catch up. But they eventually did, and I ran like 3 miles with those guys. They run for SUU, so there's no shame in them catching up to me. Pace was pretty quick, 6:43 average. Next week I will actually come to practice, and I'm getting excited for the upcoming indoor meets. |

| Dank run doing alpine loop with a detour up to a class D rock outcropping. Good stuff. Stayed up with the pack till like 2 miles left and I fell back. Need to work on that. Good run overall tho. |

| Went to bonnevile, turned left to the canyon, up the canyon, down to the school, then a bit extra. Ran with josh the second half so that was peachy. Didn't feel good at the start, but got progressively better and by the end I felt pretty good. Haven't felt good at the end of a run in a while so there's some improvement! Car wouldn't start so I called zack to help start it up but marissa helped me out haha. Shoutout to zack for coming anyways and to josh for being a cool cat. |

| Easy today. Played some snowball tag, was a cool except it was a bit to cool, If you know what I mean. A minor sesh of strength training followed. Did the spin bike a bit later to make up for the low mileage. 11 hills miles in 40 minutes flat. |

| Ran and did the bike today. Probablynthe fastest 9 miles I've done. Not as in pace, but it went by extremely quickly. Got into some pretty deep thinking. |

| Indoor track is back!!! Decent race I guess. Came more for the run of it. Didn't prepare the way I should havenl mentally or physically. I started in the back, which stunk. For the first 2 laps I was mainly in lane 3. Put a surge in the 3rd lap to get closer to the leaders. My goal was to win my heat. I know I could have won if I prepared right for it. Started my kick with like 180 left, way too late. Passed like 8 people, but still had some gas left in the tank. Got dehydrated after and felt sick for like the next hour. Shoutout to justin for slaying and winning his heat. Good job to everyone else too. I know that if I put in some consistent training these next few weeks I will be able to pr once it's time for the ice oval. |

| 8 miles by myself @6:57 pace. Uneventful and I liked it. New shoes came so that's exciting. Might run later to test them out. Some lit snowshoeing with my cuz later. Wasn't much of a workout but definitely a good time. |

| Ugh kinda a rough day at practice for me. My legs we're just aching a lot. So I cut the mileage short a few miles. Strength training after. My marshmallow stick will come in handy tonight. |

| Ran during 4th period so it was nice to get home early. Did alpine loop and some strides after. Was able to stay with the pack so that was cool. Felt good to get the legs moving quickly. Later found out the last few miles(which were in the low 6's,) was faster than my xc race pace lol. Which is rather embarrassing, but cool at the same time because I was able to talk pretty well during those miles. Rolled out my legs and did a decent amount of pushups later. Getting really pumped for the races at the ice oval! |

| Didn't want to go up in mileage too much this week so I did the bike yesterday and today. Mad at myself not being consistent the few weeks before this one, so my mileage is still pretty low. Jacked up my wrist yesterday trying to dunk it (still 3-5 inches off) and now my doctor says I will have a bit of arthritis these next few days haha. | |

| Felt pretty junky on the run so I hung back with jonas, which is always a good time. My hip was hurting some on the way down, so I used the foam roller once I got home. Did the bike a bit after that. Good stuff. Not sure what race I'm doing friday. |

| Nerves usually get the best of me in races, today was just worse. I know I could have pr'ed so that just made me more nervous. I need to figure that out. Any suggestions on what to think about, or not in the 30 minutes leading up to the race? For my heat everyone put 5 flat for their seed time, so we were lined up in alphabetical order, which stunk. I was in the 4th row. Everyone started out crazy fast, and soon I was in dead last. I came in the 400 at 75 so right on pace. Not sure what really happened the next few laps tbh. Passed a few people on the last lap. Not the race I was hoping for. I just need to figure out what to do mentally before races. I still believe I can break 4:40 this year, with the aid of some speed workouts coming up, but mostly where I need to improve is in my head. | | Comments(1) |
