All things considered, December was a good month. My mood was more stabilized than it has been since I've been keeping track (I started in October), and before then it's safe to say I was very unstable lol. So it's cool to see my progress.

I'm still a little worried about the next couple months because that's when I always seem to struggle the most. But this time I have a therapist and steady meds to help me through the darker months. If I can avoid another hospital visit that will be an accomplishment.

I broke my running streak :(

An idea - can you commit to running at least 1 mile a day, Mon-Sat as something you do regardless of the mood? Maybe share this commitment with a close friend or family member and give them permission to check up on you and encourage you to follow through if you struggle no matter what you say at the moment.

I would compare this to driving through patches of deep snow. If you hit get scared and hit the brakes, you will get stuck, but if you gather speed when you have traction, the momentum will carry you through the deep and slippery parts.

Sasha- thank you very much for that suggestion! I will definitely try it out. I think one mile is mentally easier to tackle than 4 or 5 miles, meager as those distances might be. And great idea to involve someone else- it’ll keep me accountable. My dad already nudges me to go running because he knows it’s good for me, I think he’d be very on board with this plan. I will discuss it with him and see if he’s willing to ask me about it each day. Thank you sincerely for all your suggestions they have been very helpful :)
