| 1/2 mile repeats with 3 minute recovery jog in between. This was a confidence booster for me. The goal was to start at 3:20 and work my way down for 10 repeats. It went like this: 3:20, 3:19, 3:18, 3:17, 3:16, 3:15, 3:14, 3:13, 3:12, 3:11. I did this on a treadmill so I was able to go exactly a second faster each time. I felt good. My goal for Huntsville is to be in the 3:20-3:15 range. I'm hopeful.

| Last hard workout before Huntsville. It was a small tempo. I wanted to be around 7:15 AP. 4 mile warm up and then 3 tempo miles at 7:20, 7:10, 7:00. Didn't plan it that way, I just didn't start feeling good until 2.5 miles into the tempo. 2 mile cool down. I felt sluggish and tired today. Hope I get some spring in my step over the next 10 days. |

| Last little bit of speed before the marathon on Saturday. 1 mile warm up. Mile repeats x3. (goal under 6:55) with 1/2 mile recovery jog in between. Mile repeats were 6:54, 6:51, 6:50. As is always the case, the first one was the hardest, the last one the easiest. 1 mile cool down.

| What a bummer. I'm supposed to be reveling in my post race glory but the universe had different plans for me. I woke up on Friday with a headache and stomach ache. It just kept getting worse. By Friday night, I was puking my face off and had a fever. Alas, no huntsville marathon for me. Last night I could care less about the marathon, I just wanted to not feel like I was gonna die. | Trying to decide if I should do SoJo marathon in less than three weeks. Not my favorite course but I'd hate to not have a race to show for my training.... Plus I've been tapering for three weeks and didn't run a marathon so...do I do another long run this week and then taper for two weeks? I know running isn't my whole life and truthfully, I probably too much effort into it than I should but dangitall, I am bummed I didn't get to race last Saturday. I felt ready. Stupid.

| Mile repeats with 1/2 mile recovery between each one. I ran in the drizzling rain today and loved it. Mile repeats were 6:49, 6:42, 6:49, 6:56, 6:53. Not very consistent. This was a fight, especially the last two. But, after tapering for 3 weeks, it felt good to run faster.
