I met Cheris, Michelle C. and Jameson at Riverton Park.  We warmed up for about 1.7 miles, then we did a 35 minutes tempo run mostly on the 1/2 course.  Then we cooled down until we hit 7 miles.  The tempo and cool down miles were 7:44, 7:41, 8:07 (this mile has lovers lane and the hill), 7:42, 8:26 and 8:35.

We dropped my boy off at the airport this morning at 5:45.  It was the hardest thing I've ever done.  I'm going to miss him so much.  I hope the next two years go by fast.  I had thought about running after, but I was too emotionally drained.

I ran from work to the trail until I 2.5 miles then I ran back.  I wanted a 9:00 pace and came pretty close.  Average 8:50.

I woke to the sound of rain.  Taylor and I were volunteers and had to be to the park at 5:30.  It was a little chaotic before the race.  I didn't get a warm up, so I decided to just take the first mile nice and easy.  It was very humid this morning.  I didn't really have a time goal in mind.  I just ran.  I hate to admit that I even walked two or three times, but never for more than a few seconds.  I really need to start putting in more miles.  I can't believe the Big Cottonwood marathon is only 2 1/2 months away.  That makes me nervous.  Anyway, I feel like I finished strong.  It's hard to believe that I ran this race over three minutes faster a few years ago.  Oh well.  My miles were 7:52, 7:29, 7:48, 7:54, 8:21 (this is mile I walked a few times), 7:48 and 7:12 pace for the final .28.  I always measure this course a little long.  Average 7:51.  

I came home and cooled down with Taylor for a mile.  She took 2nd overall in the 5k.  Sadly, runnercard had her listed in the 1 mile fun run and they gave her plaque away to someone else before she could say anything.

Jared drove us 12 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon this morning and dropped me, Michelle and Kris off.  We then ran down the canyon.  It was a little scary a few times.  There was some kind of a bike race going on.  Luckily, they were are going uphill.  I never felt all that fantastic.  At the bottom, Kris left and Michelle and I ran another 6 miles back to the car at Cottonwood High School.  We wanted to get a feel of how hard the marathon will be once we come out of the canyon.  I was tired, but it didn't feel too bad and we still maintained a decent pace.  We finished in 2:26:03. Miles were 8:19, 8:04, 8:01, 8:18, 8:21, 8:04, 7:34, 7:47, 7:41, 7:49, 7:46, 7:58 (last canyon mile), 8:01 8:19, 8:21, 8:34, 8:32, 8:25.  Average 8:07.  I was very nervous about the cars and bikes which I know slowed me down quite a bit.

Michelle was off today, so I worked the later shift.  I ran 6.2 miles.  My legs were beat from Saturday.  Average pace 8:56.

I started at work and ran down to the trail.  I feel really good, so decided to do a little speed work.  At mile 2 I started doing fast 800's.  I stopped my watch and walked between each repeat.  By about mile 5 I was really tired and wished someone would carry me back.  Average pace for the running was 8:00.  I probably walked about 1.5 miles too.  My legs are still tired from Saturday.

Ran from work down to trail, out four and back.  I ran into a very nice guy that I see quite a bit on my runs.  This time we were actually going the same direction at the same time, so we ran together for about a mile.  It nice getting to chat with him and made the time go by fast.  I felt good until about mile 6 then my legs starting feeling tired.  I pushed on today.  Miles were 8:47, 8:19, 8:06, 8:11, 8:12, 8:15, 8:03, and 8:13.  Average 8:17

Taylor and I ran to the high school to meet Lisa.  Then we did the usual 7 mile loop and then ran back home.  I knew my legs would be tired and they were.  Taylor was able to get an extra mile in by running ahead and coming back for me.  Average pace 8:52.

Taylor really wanted to run with me so I had her follow me to work. I ran 8.5 miles and she got in about an extra mile. She did great sprinting up the hills and coming back for me. Average pace 8:47.

The BBKs were meeting at Dimple Dell at 6:00 this morning.  I decided to start at Kmart and run towards them so I could start really slow.  I didn't get started as early as I had hoped.  I met up with them pretty quickly and I could tell that the pace was a little fast for me.  I ran with the group for a few miles, then I let them go ahead.  I would catch them each time they regrouped and run with them for a little bit.  We ran out on Wasatch until the Little Cottonwood Canyon road and then turned around.  It was not an easy run!  My average pace for running was 8:18.  I did stop my watch a few times when I walked and when we regrouped.

Taylor and I started at the the District, ran around the lake at Daybreak and ran back.  Running lately feels so much harder for me than it should.  Taylor kept asking me if I was okay because at times I was breathing so heavy.  It's frustrating!!  Average pace 8:33.

Taylor and I decided to do a trail run today.  We started at the Orson Hyde trailhead.  We ran South for about 3.7 miles and came out by the equestrian park.  We ran back to the car on Highland Drive.  That had some serious uphill.  We were only at 5 miles so ran out on the trail for another mile and turned around and ran back.  It was a hard run, but it was a nice change.  It was much cooler up there.  We averaged around 10 minute miles.

I met Michelle at the JRP trail in Bluffdale at 6:00 AM.  We ran north 9 miles (almost to 9000 S), then turned around and ran back.  We tried to keep the pace at 9:00 miles the whole time.  I actually felt pretty good.

Taylor followed me to work again this morning so we could run. We ran the usual route. I'm really going to miss running with her when she goes back to school. It's been so much fun getting to spend time with her.  She is doing great and is so strong on the hills.  I actually felt pretty good today.  Average pace 8:25.
