Basketball this morning, had lots of people there

This afternoon I did 3x Pah Tempe Hill Repeats with 3:30 rest.  The schedule called for 4, but I only managed 3, which I guess is ok, considering I'm still fighting off this cold, legs still dead from last week's mile repeats and this is the first hill workout of the year, ok enough excuses.

Did 2 mile warm-up

1-2:11 Actually this is a pretty fast time for me, 2:06 is my all time PR if I remember

2-2:12 Another good repeat, but threw up after and getting quite the headache which is strange

3- 2:19 Ok I'm done

2 mile cool-down and fight to make it home.

I'm really not feeling that good now, but glad I did get this workout in.  Not a lot of mileage, but still some hard work.

Didn't feel like running today, but decided to drive up to Sheep's Bridge did an out and back loop on the JEM trail and part of the Hurricane Rim Trail.  I went out 4.2 miles in 36:59 and then came back in 35:15, so better effort coming back even though my legs were tired.  I got back to the truck and did another .80 up the Mesa Road and back down to make it an even 9 miles.  I really wish I could get over this cold.  I haven't been sick for this long of a time period for quite some time.

Well, another win for the St. George Running Center.  This was the third year we've ran and won this relay, so that was cool.  I was a little concerned going in because I have been sick the last two to three weeks and haven't been training very well.

This year I did legs 3 and 7

Leg 3- 5.68 miles 34:47 (6:07 average)

1-5:37 Some excitement here as we were in 3rd place, so I had to try to make up some ground

2-5:51 I catch the guy that is in second and gap him pretty fast

3-6:04 this section is on the bike path and has a nice little hill

4-5:57 decent mile, but starting to hurt

5-6:32 I'm really starting to struggle here, doesn't help having to run up a hill now

.68- 4:42- Not the best effort here, Dave was nice and came and helped me to the exchange.

Leg 7- 4.44 miles 29:04 (6:33 average)

Well by this time we had a pretty good lead on the other teams, so I just tried to keep things nice and easy.  I was a little disappointed my ipod quit working, so I ran this leg just listening to the voices in my head, which can be scary

1-6:27

2-6:31

3-6:40 Actually thought I was going faster than the first two miles, but I guess I wasn't

4-6:31

.44- 2:53

Overall happy with the effort, even though I've been coughing ever since I stopped running.  Hoping maybe the extra effort today will work some of this sickness out of the body.  Always fun to run and hang with Bill, Clyde, Dave, and Steve.  It was also cool being able to see Mike, Bruce, and James at all the different exchanges.
