| Didn't feel very motivated today, probably because it was cold and the wind was blowing. I've become a real wimp since moving to Southern Utah. I only did 3 miles on the treadmill then rode the exercise bike for awhile. |

| Went to the club run. I did the first two miles or so with the group, then had to stop and use the bathroom, which left me way behind the group. I was able to speed back up and caught up to Bill. We finished by doing a loop up to the Pilot store and then back to the Dixie Center. Overall a decent 7 miles, even though Bill wasn't feeling very good. |

I ate way too much food over the weekend. I went and played basketball this morning, but did feel too great. Starting my 18 week training cycle for Utah Valley today. I'm actually a lot more excited this year, compared to where I was last year. I'm really hoping I can get back into decent shape this year. Pretty decent workout this afternoon. I did a 2 mile warm-up then started a 4 mile tempo run over on 400 South. I did a loop out past the school. 1-6:09 2-6:27- a little uphill 3-6:02- starting to hurt and wanting to be done 4-6:14 Overall 24:55 with a 6:13 average. Did a two mile cool-down I'm a going to try to continue doing tempo runs on this route as it is pretty flat and fair.

| Went and lifted weights this morning, for the first time in a very long time. Tonight I just rode the exercise bike for 40 minutes, my right ankle has been hurting all day. |

Lifted weights this morning, going to club run this afternoon.
Good run with the club tonight. Started out at a comfortable pace with Dave, Clyde, Steve, Bill and Mike. We had an encounter with a biker punk, fortunately the dude kept biking after he yelled at us, because if dude would have stopped we would of had one less biker in St. George and our running club would be running laps around the prison yard.
I managed to stay with the guys until the last 2 miles and then I slowed down a bit. However, I was still happy to finish the 10 mile loop with a 6:52 average. |

Basketball this morning and feeling sick now.
Pretty good workout this afternoon did 4 x 1000m on the cow field loop
2 mile warm-up
1- 3:33- just wanted to ease into the workout
2-3:31- changed the watch to metric to remeasure where I exactly I needed to stop, because the first one felt long, which is was by just a little bit.
3-3:27- this one felt the best
4-3:27- struggled but managed to get through it.
Crazy to think that Logan and Dave have been running 1000's on the track about 20 seconds faster than what I did today. I just have a long way to go, but I was pleased with this workout as a starting point for the year. I haven't 1000's since before the St. George Marathon.

Ran over past the bridge and then back. Did 2 miles out and then 2 miles back. I'm still feeling pretty sick, can't seem to get over this cold. It has been about a week now. I ran this run in my five fingers, just to see how it felt to run a little bit further than just a mile, which is all I had done in them up until today. |

Ran from the bowling alley home. I started off feeling pretty good, struggled a little on the hills up by Sky Mountain, but overall an ok run, especially considering I'm still feeling sick. I haven't had a cold like this one in a long time. I need to get over this so I can get to training. I was upset on my run, my ipod was dead, so no tunes the entire run. I've really gotten used to running with music.

A pretty good workout this afternoon. Sunny drove me out to Anderson Junction and then I did a 2 mile warm-up and then got into 4 x 1 mile repeats with 3 min recovery back to La Verkin. The times are a little faster, because a lot of the miles were downhill, but still a good workout for the legs.
1-5:30
2-5:35 I threw up a little after this one.
3-5:47 a little uphill coming out of Toquerville
4-5:33
2 mile cool-down home
I will continue to do these repeats about every three weeks.
Went and played basketball tonight which was a mistake, hard to do much on dead legs.

Basketball this morning, had lots of people there
This afternoon I did 3x Pah Tempe Hill Repeats with 3:30 rest. The schedule called for 4, but I only managed 3, which I guess is ok, considering I'm still fighting off this cold, legs still dead from last week's mile repeats and this is the first hill workout of the year, ok enough excuses.
Did 2 mile warm-up
1-2:11 Actually this is a pretty fast time for me, 2:06 is my all time PR if I remember
2-2:12 Another good repeat, but threw up after and getting quite the headache which is strange
3- 2:19 Ok I'm done
2 mile cool-down and fight to make it home.
I'm really not feeling that good now, but glad I did get this workout in. Not a lot of mileage, but still some hard work. |
