Personal:

I retired from the Army after 26 years of service in 2010.  I moved home to Arizona.  My wife and I are empty nesters.  In 2016 I had stents placed in my heart after discovering coronary artery disease.  Since early 2016 I have lost 30 lbs and got in much better shape.  August 2017 I retired again. We served a mission to Mexico from October 2017 until April 2019.

After I got on the running path at Aragon Forest I could hear someone coming up behind me so I gradually sped up. that explains the faster 3rd mile... I ran a different direction on the path and it turns out that this fast mile also corespodned to a slight down hill whereas the slower miles corresponded to slight uphill. splits 9:32, 9:12, 8:56, 9:16, 9:37, 1:51.

total time 50:44. I met up with a man named Alejandro whom I met the first time I ran in the aragon Forest at the end of October. We ran together which was fun. It appears that we will run together periodically as I have found him on facebook and we will communicate through messenger. we ran easy and talked as we ran clockwise on the 5K trail.  splits 9:52, 9:50, 9:27, 9:43, 9:45, 2:07. average HR 119.
