I have ran three marathons. SGM in 2005, Ogden in 2006, and SGM 2006. My best time in a marathon is Ut. Valley Marathon 3:59:46. I have ran seven half marathons, some 10k's and 5k"s. My favorite marathon is SGM.I have ran 13 Marathons, will be during my first Ultra in march of 2013, it will be the Antalope Island Buffalo Run, a 50k.
2008 SGM PR 4:02:23 The best is yet to come. Short-Term Running Goals: Short term running goal is to increase my four days a week of running to five to six days a week. Do more speed work this coming year. Bring my times down. I would like to do SGM in 4 hrs or less. Long-Term Running Goals: Keep up with my Brother Clay in a marathon, someday do a sub four hour marathon, and BQ. Personal: I have been married for 34Years, and am still madly in love with my wife Wendy. I have four children and six Grand children.

| I cannot remember the last time I slept in until 8am. It did feel good and maybe won't come around again until next Labor Day. I went on a run this morning with Wendy, we did the golf course loop it was good to go on a run with her and just enjoy being together. I am blessed. Great run with a great best friend. |

| Finally have some ti e to log my runs, been a busy few days. Fridays heavy ran flooded my family which took a few hours of wet vac and a few days of constant fans running. I do believe it is finally dry and ready to put back together. Saturdays long run was the highlight of my weekend, was able to run with my son Bryan. It has been a blast to train with him all summer as we both have been getting ready for the St. George Marathon in three weeks. He has helped me push the pace a little more this which has been good for me. Now we get to taper and recharge over the next few weeks and allow our body's to rest a bit from the summers training. |

| Six days ago on my run I was about two miles into it going up the hill to gu corner. As I rounded the corner a sharp pain went through my left quad, my leg buckled and it felt like I was going to go nose first into the road. I stopped running and my quad was hurting bad to walk on. I thought at the time maybe I pulled a hammy, I had Wendy drive out to get me because it was hurting to walk on. So I thought my chances for SGM in a few weeks was pulled out from under me. I took six days off, lots of ice and rest and winter rest ointment. So today I thought I will run out to gu corner and back and see how things are feeling. Nice surprise no pain, handled the,run just fine which was encouraging. So on Saturday morning I will go for a longer run and see how everything is going. Wish me luck! |

| My second day of running in the last eight. My plan was to do at least a 10 miler this morning. I went real easy did not want to push things as I'm still not sure on the left hammy. It did fine although the last mile it did begin to tire out. Not sure what to think about a week from now during the marathon.i know I can do a least 10' will the old hammy give out after that. It will differently be a crap shoot. Kind of frustrating putting in all this training and then two weeks out an injury. I will do a few low mile easy runs next week and just do what my old body will handle. It will be a nice vacation and time away from the regular rat race. Today's run was still a great run. |
