Icy trail today. Glad I had my custom modified shoes with screws in them. Perfect for conditions like this. The others had to bail off the trail and hit the road, I was able to bomb the downhill.
Followed up by a viewing of Unbreakable at my house. Fun evening.
Goal was easy pace, but felt much harder than it should have been. Feeling out of shape. Probably ate too much over the last 3 weeks of not much running.
Fun group run with Mike, Fan and newcomer Zac. Its always fun to chat with the new guy. Other than it being dark, it was a great run. Dry trails, good company.
Ran from my Brother and Sister In-Laws house (where we stayed overnight) to my parents house (while beth had the car). I took the scenic route.
I went up into Olympus Cove. I was hoping to hit neffs canyon but I missed it. Should'a looked at a map before going. Did some bushwhack exploring then hit the BST over to Oly. I took that trail up to the creek before heading down and along wasatch to my destination. Glad I got done before the rain hit.
Ran with mike and fan for an evening run. I still can't believe we were running on dirt in december. Amazing. January is going to be brutal I am predicting. Fun run though.
Mike's Birthday Marathon Run (he turns 25 tomorrow) -
So for his birthday run we went on the most random loop of trails we could. Cause that's awesome! We hit road, dirt, mud, snow, hills, cow poop, deer trails, bushwhacking, fence hopping, sliding down hills, etc. Everything we could think of. Good times. Better look at my strava if you want to know where we went, its too hard to describe.
Group run with Fan, Mike, Zac and I. For some reason mike and fan were battling it out today. Zac and I let them go at it. We finished a few mins behind them.
Sugary power and slick sidewalks made today's run a bit slower than normal. It was so pretty though with all the snow on the trees and fresh unmarked trails. Good run, if a bit hard.
Went from the tabernacle on the canal trail to the river trail up to Spring Hollow.
Decent run. I always feel better on Monday when I take it easy on Saturday. Duh

PM: Random 10 -
Met Mike and we ran through River Heights and Providence. Lots of wind so we tried to keep it as a crosswind and it seemed to work well. I was sweaty by the end even though the windchill was close to 0.
We went south again trying to dodge the winds out of the east. 12 degrees with a wind chill down to 0. I was plenty warm except for my face. Another good run. Probably taking tomorrow off so this is it for the year.
Just over 2600 miles (including cross-training). Not bad for being sick for a good chunk of it.
