I walked 1 mile as a warm-up at a moderate incline, then I jogged 2.25 miles at a rate of 5-5.8. I stopped prematurely because I seriously pulled my right calf. Total distance was 3.25 miles. I planned on jogging 3 miles, but I pulled my right calf after jogging 2.25 miles, even though the entire jog felt great with no tightness or pain prior to pulling my calf muscle. This is very frustrating, but it should be noted that I took off 1.5-2 weeks from jogging or walking altogether due to a busy schedule, so this recent layoff may have been a contributing factor. I need to incorporate some weight bearing exercises to better strengthen my calves and prevent injuries. |
